Jpz that is an awesome strap. Love the dual color keepers. Being a cigar guy that finish looks like a fine tobacco leaf. Think I will smoke one now:) cigar that is not a watch strap.

D, yes I bought my first Pam a couple of weeks ago. I am a diehard Rolex loyalist so this was a stretch for me. I do like it, it is super comfortable and light. It came with 3 rep straps and a rep buckle that are just so so. So seeing how much wrist time it gets before I drop the coin on a nice strap and buckle. If I do keep it I will ask Donerix to make me something special and source a gen buckle. Since it is black face with creamy white lettering, probably go black horn-back with cream stitching details and a brushed buckle or maybe a grey sharkskin with black stitching..... The custom straps he made for me are for my Franken President. He is great to work with. I will post a pic here in a minute.
And my Pam
Donerix 2.0. He made me some custom straps and they are beautiful. He just had a sale going in the trade area not sure what is left but you could also ask him to make something custom.

U probably don't want to hear this but as Jpz stated most of the experienced members suggest not to send back to China. I don't know if I have back luck but out of the 12 watches I have bought in the last few months 5 needed to be fixed. I was lucky enough to find a great Watchsmith in the US who is rep friendly and is very good. Some I purchased from trusted dealers and some were off the sales boards. While it costs a little more to send them to the WS--depending on what they need, when I get them back I will know they are in good working order and will operate properly for a long time. Anymore when I am looking at buying a piece I add on the cost of sending to the WS for a "check up".

Hi Brad
I am sourcing parts for the similar build. Similar parts list but I am going to use an Eta and white dial. Also doing a 1675 at the same time. I have parts coming in almost every day....wife is asking lots of questions/(. I agree resale may not be good but you never see Franken 6542's for sale and if you see gens they are 25k+. I just love pan153's pictured above. Shooting for something like that.

Thanks Pan, yes I plan to buy this one. Little delay as watch is in transit being serviced. Has a nice vintage appeal. I have a new gen insert and crystal but not sure I will use as I kinda like this insert. Not as much as your joey insert though. Love those Bakelite inserts:). Started acquiring parts for the real deal 6524 also.

Brad good advice from two that really know. I did not follow that advice and I tired one of the TD 6542's and it was very bad. Sold it a couple days after receiving it. No expert but that is my grail watch and have read much over the last few months on the forums. Now I am acquiring parts for a phong case build as suggested above.

Beautiful build. I love simple dials no cg's and no dates. Same here with the size. Definitely one of my favorite looks. Enjoy

A member answered my WTB with a Rolex Addict built Franken. Stated, gen dial, gen crystal, gen insert, gen crown, gen spring bars, josh case, yuki hands, custom DWO. Then the decision, live with the 6mm crown tightly fit in the CG's or replace with a 5.3 and have a gap in the CG's. I assume that is a 6mm crown, it is hard for me to tell in the pics? This is going to drive me nuts. Here are the pics what do you think?
Thank you and I plan to use a Phong case for the 6542 white dial build as we discussed. Thank you for all the help on that topic and here. Since I cannot buy a gen 6542 for less than 25-50K, I can justify spending the extra $ for that build. But since 1675/16750 are pretty available and relatively inexpensive for a gen, if I go that route I might as well buy a gen. Reduced my initial budget to keep this around $1500 for a nice but maybe not perfect 1675. The budget for the 6542 is going to be much more.....If I do this right I should be able to get/build both watches for about what a nice 1675 gen would cost. Thanks again
You can look in the sales threads or on ebay or other areas of the net for the insert. Hard for me to tell on pictures if they are really genuine or not, so I usually only buy from someone I know or have an expert check before purchasing. Be careful....
Quik, I have both. Either is a great first purchase. I am very happy with them and both arrived in perfect working order, which does not always happen.....
