  1. Finally made a change to my 2nd favorite!
  2. True. I'm happy with his work for sure. I've had the watch on since receiving it Tuesday and the time is still dead-on........
  3. If I could only own one watch, it would have to be my beloved Bronzo! Can't take the damned thing off.
  4. 7750 movement. [/quote name=Bc1221" post="1355820" timestamp="1407362907]$150 for a full service isnt bad. what movement was it? 6497?
  5. My treasured Bronzo was experiencing very short power reserve time, so I went on the hunt for a watchmaker in my area (Boston suburbs). I came across an individual in Southern NH, who works out of his home on high end and antique time pieces. I reached out to him to gauge interest in dealing with reps and he asked me to send him the watch. Communication was a bit of a chore. He clearly prefers telephone over email. I asked him to perform a full service (clean & lube) on the movement. Being a new customer, he wanted payment by check - $155. I mailed out payment on Thursday and received my serviced baby back on Tuesday. It's been on my wrist for 24hrs now and appears to be performing perfectly! I asked him what he thought of the movement in my Bronzo and his only comment was that it is not of great quality. No surprise for a rep I suppose and what I expected for a response. I also asked him if he is open to servicing future reps and he said yes. He asks for the watch to be sent to him for free evaluation. His Web site has a great many testimonials from around the world. I will certainly use him again as needed. If anyone in the northeast wants the info for this guy, PM me and I'll send send his info.
  6. Fresh back from a full service! Hopefully the power reserve will be reasonable now! Oh how I missed my Bronzo...
  7. Want one! I hope the wait isn't too long!
  8. I just received a GMT II with the Asian 2836 and it lasted less than one hour. First time I did not order the Swiss. :-(
  9. Toro only carries the best quality. That's why is offerings are so few.
  10. Ugh. Send proof of delivery to the TD and if he blows you off, ask the mods to help intervene.
  11. I don't believe I've ever had a watch take longer than 14 days to deliver to me in the USA. Not sure if UK Customs make it any longer over there, but if you order now, I'd expect you'll get it in time from any of the TD's......... Just check BEFORE ordering, to make sure your choice is available.
  12. Received my 13th rep this morning in the mail. 2014 GMT Master II Pepsi with 2836 movement. After reading how this is the movement of choice, it's the first time I didn't check off the Swiss ETA option when it was available to me. Watch looked gorgeous, as the QC photos showed. Resized it, wound it, set it and put it on. Sometime less than an hour later, I noticed it wasn't working. The minute hand was in the same position as the GMT hand. Took it off and tried to set it again, but the two hands were locked together. From that point on nothing would work. I gave the watch a bit of a shake and both hands, locked together jumped a quarter turn on the dial. It's pretty clear that something is amiss in the movement, as well as in the hand assembly. Something probably broke when I moved the hands which were locked together. I quickly contacted the TD and told him of the problem. Sent him a photo of the hands locked together as well. He offered a small refund if I could have a local watchmaker look at it, but I don't know of anyone around here to do it. In any case, it's clearly more than just the hand installation and it now has bigger problems. I know the recommendation is to NOT return the watch to China, but mine is on the way back anyway! I'm betting when they see what a mess it is, they will simply send me a new one. I hope I'm right! My first movement issue, so while I'm disappointed, I'm not going to agonize over it. Hopefully, the TD will take into account the amount I've spent with him this past year and deal with the problem accordingly..........
  13. Got mine from Toro about 6 weeks ago. Love it!
  14. Back to my first rep purchase tonight!
  15. Almost a full week with the beast on! Everything else will seem tiny now! ;-)
  16. If you are careful who you deal with, PP does not suck at all. I use it a lot and have never had a problem where I felt scammed. If you are not careful regarding who you deal with, it is relatively easy for an unscrupulous buyer to scam a seller, which is an obvious concern for many in this forum (both TD's and private sellers). I find PP convenient as a way to keep my "watch monies" separate from my regular finances. This helps keep me under some minimal level of control!!! ;-)
