Sounds like this may be your first rep purchase???? Look for a mid priced Sub from any TD. When you receive it, I promise you will be amazed at the quality. Over time, when you become more experienced and knowledgeable about various strengths and weaknesses of Makers, you can make more informed choices.

It depends what your goal is......... Do you want a solid performing movement or one that "LOOKS" more like an OEM movement? Any movement that comes with a REP is suspect. Not so much because of design, but because of poor assembly practices, lack of lubrication, or lack of a clean assembly environment. If you want a rep that performs with a high degree of accuracy and decent power reserve and a longer life, you should seriously consider having it serviced after receipt. I've had a couple of pieces serviced and have been thrilled with the performance and results. Cost ~~ $150 for full service that includes dis-assembly, lubrication, cleaning and adjusting. Then there are some movements intended to mirror genuine pieces with more complex designs like chrono or GMT movements. Some of these are just poorly designed, with sketchy performance and reliability. Others' with limited functionality, can run accurately, but with missing features or designs that do not accurately reflect gen pieces. If you are new to the hobby, I'd suggest getting a mid-priced sub or similar non-chrono piece and have it serviced once received.

Submariner 116613 (bluey) wrapped gold on 904l steel
pcardoza replied to robwoodgate's topic in General Discussion
IMO, the 904 SS and its associated premium pricing, is a total waste of our $$$$. NOBODY can tell the difference between 904 and 316 SS. Go for the wrapped 316 and you'll be thrilled. Your wallet will thank you too.......... -

I have one of these, sort of........ It's making its second trip to a watch maker for help. He's had it for more days than I have. Every day at 10pm, the hour hand gets stuck. If you go to RWI in the Rolex subforum, there's a very detailed sticky with instructions on how to set this very fragile movement. The watch is absolutely gorgeous, but the movement is pure shit.

Has anyone tried the watch servicing that Trusty Time offers? I'm tired of receiving watches that arrive in need of work. Andrew lists full servicing for $120, which seems to be a reasonable price if done well. I'm going to grab the new Breitling Hurricane from him and am trying to decide whether to try the servicing as well while I'm at it. Thoughts?????

Same problem with the hour hand stopping at 10pm last night. I guess it’s time to contact Ryan. [emoji25] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, I received mine yesterday. Cosmetically it looks terrific. I set the time/date per the instructions found on RWI and everything looked great until this morning. When I woke up the hour hand was stuck @ 10pm. 🤬 I re-set it and it's running fine for the moment. Let's see if I get a repeat problem tonight. I'm assuming it's something getting hung up when the date starts to change? Pretty damned disappointing for such an overpriced piece..........

Well, there are a couple of great threads on RWI regarding this piece and the movement. Consensus is the the cosmetics of this Noob release is as good or better than anything before. As to the movement, there is a great sticky thread with detailed instructions on how to set the time/date, without damaging the movement.

Experiences buying Replica Watches from China
pcardoza replied to loboacan's topic in General Discussion
My opinion is that there are 3 categories of sellers. The large, all inclusive sellers like Trusty and Puretime. Then there are the more boutique-type sellers like Toro and Intime, with a smaller selection available. In 6 years +, I have narrowed my preferences down to Trusty and Intime, as both have been super to deal with. Some 30 watches later, I've only had a single DOA. That came from Trusty and yes, I did send it back fro repairs. That process was lengthy, but successful. I ordered a Noob Pepsi from Intime last Friday and DHL is showing scheduled delivery for tomorrow. 7 days from order to delivery, IMO, is terrific. -
He's back for one reason......... $$$$$$$$$$ He's a great actor but the role of Bond will get him a much bigger paycheck than any other movie he may be offered to star in. In then end, that's what its all about.

Wishing you a positive outcome from a fellow Masshole!

Nothing on the horizon for me. I've settled into a two watch rotation with my Pam 382 and DSSD - Deep Blue on a rubber-b. The other 20pcs just sit in their case. HOWEVER, if one of the makers would step up and build a Breitling Hurricane, I'd be firing up PayPal!

I have mixed feelings on this topic. Features like 904 stainless and 18k gold wrapped are priced with significant markups that IMO, are not worth it. On the Swiss eta issue, I did buy a DSSD Blue from Andrew with a stated eta movement and have been thrilled with the performance. I use this as a daily piece and NEVER have to adjust or manually wind it. Worked 100% right out of the box. I've yet to have an Asian movement work this well, without prior service being performed.

What watch(es) will you never buy the gen of?
pcardoza replied to Legend's topic in General Discussion
Wow........ At this point I have some 20 reps and two Gens. I have worn one of the gens (Breitling Chrono Evo) once since I got into the rep hobby in 2014. Right now I find myself on the 3 watch rotation........... DSSD-Blue on a rubber-b strap, The PAM Bronzo I bought from you! and my APPLE Watch series 3. The DSSD-Blue has a Swiss movement and keeps perfect time. The Bronzo from you keeps perfect time and looks amazing. The APPLE Watch is something I keep trying to like, but tire of easily. I cannot imagine chasing a gen of either mechanical watch, since these look so amazing and run perfectly. The rest of my reps are sitting in the watch box, gathering dust for now. Even though I rarely wear them, I can't bring myself to part with them! 😉 -
I have a DSSD Deep Blue Prohunter. I've worn it quite a bit and have the black finish wearing through at the clasp. Something to be careful of.

I've been asked only twice over the year about my watches. Strangely enough, both were be different car salesmen! One noticed my PAM 616 Carbotech and he was wearing a Breitling Chrono Avenger. I told him it was a rep and he was amazed at what a few hundred bucks can buy in the rep world. The other time was a number of years back, when I had my gen Breitling Chrono-Evo on. I forget what he had on, but I thanked him for the compliment and that was that. I have no problem stating that any piece I have is a rep. If nothing else, it can be a great conversation starter.

Can $1,000 reps be far behind????? https://www.intime02.co/rollie/4563-submariner-116618lb-full-yg-wrapped-vrf-1-1-best-edition-blue-dial-on-full-yg-wrapped-bracelet-a2836.html

I do think rep pricing has reached a point where I personally, have stopped buying. Cosmetic build quality is definitely better, but movements have stagnated, or become worse IMO.
