  1. While there is certainly risk involved, it is not nearly as bad as you make it sound. I'm up to 10 reps from both Andrew and toro without a single issue to date. Also note that the senior members here all suggest NOT sending watched back to china for any reason. Yet you did. However, you certainly are right about the escalating prices. 2. AP 57th Street ---- First full day wearing it. Still can't decide if I'm an AP lover or not........ ;-)
  3. First time on my wrist. Not sure I'm an AP guy. AP 57th Street. I'll give it a day or two. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Dug out of the watch box. Gets a lot of attention every time I wear it. Probably should pick it more often. Chronomat B01 from Andrew Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Fracture hits the nail on the head here. While rolexuk feels it's ok to "steal" from the rich (Rolex), he'd be stealing from anyone BUT Rolex! The jeweler, who may or may not be rich, as well as the poor schmuck who ended up with the watch in the end. Of course, once noticed, it would probably be not so difficult to track the thief down with serial numbers, security camera footage, etc... As to the question of whether or not we rep enthusiasts are "stealing", I am honestly on the fence. In my case, I could afford a gen or two and have a Breitling Chrono Evo that was on my writs 9/10 days for 8 years. But there's no way I could swing the 8 reps I have as gens, so I agree that the Rolex's and Breitlings of the world are not losing any money on me because of this hobby. I'm guessing there are many who are in our hobby that could afford a large gen collection, but choose not to. Is that stealing? Technically, the argument could be made that it is. In any case, I would never consider making the switch as suggested by rolexuk. Just not part of my makeup I guess.....

  8. Fresh out of the postman's hands!!! Gorgeous Blacksteel from Toro! He is THE best! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm one of those who recently took delivery of a LMPO from Toro. Totally impressed with it! Just note that sizing the bracelet takes serious effort and finess, so as not to ruin anything. If you don't have decent pin-pushers, get some before attempting!
  10. AGREED! I had to take out 4 links and mucked up one pin in the process. Luckily, the bracelet was so large, that the odds of ever needing all 4 links back in are slim. It would take someone with Popeye arms to need it that size!
  11. The REP world gives me so many more options than I would ever be able to afford in GENs. I have a GEN Chronomat Evo, which has been sitting in my watch box since finding the rep world. My current favorite rep, by a wide margin is the Pam Bronzo, which is out of my league in the GEN world. I see them on the "bay" in the low $20's. My Seawolf (yellow dial) rep is next on my favorite list, but the rep is so well done that I cannot imagine wanting the gen. Same with my new LMPO from Toro. A wonderful rep! Once you get beyond 4 or 5 watches, adding others causes wrist time to suffer, making large cash outlays for gens even more unattractive! I'm up to 8 reps with a 9th (Super Avenger Blacksteel) en route as I type. BTW, my wife thinks I'm insane and addicted. So far, I haven't argued the point!
  12. Some nice GEN options here. None of them cheap though!

  17. I'm also relatively new, still. I had the same concerns and my first few buys were all Swiss ETA's. I have a Rolex Sub, DSSD and Breitling Seawolf, all from Andrew, which have performed PERFECTLY. However, learning from the more experienced members here, I finally took the leap and bought an Omega LMPO with an Asian movement. I received the watch Tuesday and it has been running perfectly since. Runs as smooth as the ETA and has kept perfect time. If this unit holds up well over time, I'll make it my go-to movement for future purchases. It's save a lot of cash, for sure!
  18. Another LMPO fresh from Toro! What a beauty!
  19. I see that Toro now has the KW Factory Bronzo on his site.......
  20. Yeah, but the world has changed a lot in those 20+ years!
