Give a look to the RWI model anyway Pam, there is a more correct version there (see Wacko Bird one)
-
Hey, the Miyota looks very nice and good value for money in my view... Who cares for the small detail of the hands actually... The next version will be something like 600$ and I'll never ever spend such amount for a watch like this
-
Uhm... This is the gen (pic from Panerai site) vs Rep (Andrew's site): I think that the gen chars are bolder, but we can survive with them... And, by the way, the picture upper (the one from Toro) has the correct boldness.
-
Hi guys, comparing a gen pic with Toro's cheaper one (gen on the left): Is it so bad? Can't say if the color is different because of the picture or what.

Better if I don't tell you what I use to degrease this thing (after I took away the novodiac jewels) In Italy it's called "AVIO", and it was used to dry-wash the clothes in laundrette. Basically it's "hexane", alias rectified benzine, alias "benzene". And you MUST use it only in well aerated places since it's clearly a toxic stuff to breathe. It dries by it self in less then 2 mins

A 500.000US$ watch can't be cloned. That's it. If you compare gen pictures of that watch with the replica one you'll spot the differences, and they are a lot. Anyway, if you like it, then go for it.

Hi guys, I've a PAM164 (44mm one) and it came with a 115/75 fake alligator deployment strap. It fits this way (when it's cold and my wrist is not swollen) Or this way (when it's hotter and my wrist is a bit swollen): It looks a bit short to me, or it's just my impression? Searching around for deployment straps anyway, looks like only 115/75 are available :/ Do you have any shop (in EU) to get them from 120/80? I don't want to spend more than 40$ (30€). Tnx, GenTLe

Hi Guys, give a look in the Puretime TD section. There is an interesting raffle there! The difference between cost for Angus and buying price will be given to the forum for its maintenance!! Easy to do: go to http://pure-time.com/ , at the very end of the brand list on the left there is "Custom order", click on it and put quantity = 20 (1 slot) or =40 (2 slots) etc and checkout the order. Then PM the user "PureTime" telling him your order number and the number of slots you have taken, and put your name&order nr. in this thread: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/172528-puretimes-august-raffle-ap-silver-themes-only-20-profits-to-the-forum/#entry1359872. If the 30 slots will not be filled, then you can have a refund or keep those money for the next purchase @PT 20$ for each of the 30 slots to win this 600$ watch: Venghino signori, venghino!!

And if it is, is it normal than when mounting the balance back in the movement, it comes out from the "high range" regulator? Thanks!!
-
Very very nice. Is that blue AR a gen-like version?
-
So I'd wait to go back to UK. About your question... Well, I'd give a look to chrono24 web site to have an idea of the prices. If you want to stay in the higher level of selling price then you'd better have IWC to service it. If the price you've in mind is in the lower part of them, so just give it to an unbranded watch service.

Movement Service - suggestions for who to do it
GenTLe replied to spazthecat's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
A friend of mine did my pam164 for 70€, in his horological and jewellery shop. But that's cheap. An average is as Mike said. And congrats to be able to put it together, I'm doing the same and gives a lot of satisfaction (then I'll hope it will not gain like 10min @day -
I can only say that the movement is a good one. Up to you the comparison with the gen pictures and the discovery of the eventual flaws.

How did you regulated it? Give a look here: http://www.christopherwardforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2339 -
Depends where you are. Always always always put your location when asking such questions. We've people from Australia to US passing through EU here.

If I'll ever become good enough to take other's people watch to service them (I've already redirected a compatriot that was asking me to do some stuff on his piece), I think I'll go for max 1 each week. I still want to have a life out of that and my daily job

Yep, seen it And replied with a warning -
Is it with the 7753 movement and quick date set @10? Take care it may have the hands glued to their pinions (= no way to service it properly as the watchmaker can't remove the dial)...
-
Yeah, but ok, not a great problem to remove the stem and short it 1 mm or so, correct?

So you're a Breitling man I still have to find one that I really like And I think that a good part of my disaffection is made by the English name of the brand. The other half is about the busy dials... -
Looking for a 22/20 Breitling deployment clasp

You can't Have to ask to a mod. Nevermind, let this go to the forgetness lands -
If the yellow was red I'd have been "in" for this. But yellow is a no no for me too...
