  1. www.ebay.com bought mine for 4euros came directly from the UK to spain in 4 or 5 days.
  2. I've got very small wrists (especially for my height.. I'm over 6'3" (193cm)). My wrists are 6.25in (15.75cm) and all of my watches are over 40 inches. I agree with most people in that the colt is a good choice. I would highly reccomend the SOSF, but maybe you'd prefer something a little more understated. Here's a couple of pics of my SOSF.. (which by the way will be up for sale in a couple of weeks!) sorry if these pics are played out.. they're my favs of this watch.. hopefully no one's sick of the rubik's cube
  3. I know how you feel. I had problems with a pam crown guard once.. it haunted me for weeks. Your story sounds really frustrating though.. the only thing your missing is your watch falling into a nearby septic tank as it slipped out of your hand...
  4. I personally wouldn't try it with any of my 21js but you're right in that it's a more robust/reliable movement than the 7750s. The only watch i'd feel comfortable hand winding would be one of my swiss eta's.. although.. I've always found a few good shakes to be sufficient. I have a habbit of wearing a watch for 3 days to a week before thinking to change the watch. So by that time the watch is usually fully wound. My Skyland Blacksteel seems to last about 48 hours with no problems
  5. That sucks Rawker.. If I were you I'd contact the seller directly to communicate the problem. The answer to your question is, no, the rotor shouldn't be stuck. It should be rotating freely around in the display caseback. If it's not turning then it's either stuck from friction or not connected properly. You might have to return the watch for a new one, or if you have a watchmaker/repairman near you, you can take it there to see what they say. My first outlet would definitely be to contact the seller though. my 3 cents
  6. haha. Thanks for asking redwatch. I'm very much still with the same girlfriend.. this summer we got married here in Spain(she's spanish) and had an amazing 3-week honeymoon in Cambodia.
  7. Apologies.. it's a question of semantics internationally speaking. In many countries including spain where I live.. the word for "civil servant" includes all employees of the government... military, education, healthcare and any other ministry, agency, or government body. Yes true.. specifically in the u.s. the civil service are elected and appointed positions of the u.s. govt.. In this regard, I probably should have used the word "public servant" to describe a Customs agent. Although, solely a question of semantics at the international level of translation..
  8. I'll second that yay for our democratic-socialist government.. GO SPAIN! Donde estan los espa
  9. Do you live in spain too? ;-)
  10. All the glitz and glam pizzazz and jazz of this unforgettable topic:
  11. You didn't say the following: "i just sat their and laughed and then thought you dumba$$", "the salesperson tossed it in the box with all the rest" anyways.. regardless of what you said, I apologize for what might have seemed like a personal attack.. I should've chosen my words more carefully. I was pointing out that the spirit/tone of your story (not the facts) seemed in-congruent and out of place with that of the forum in general. In any case, sorry bout that.
  12. I should really get out more. I really should make friends at Tourneau's so that I could stop by everyday and loiter and then laugh out loud at customers that have gotten their watches confiscated..... and then afterwards I could chummingly joke with the assistant manager about my weakness for buying real watches only if he flashes them in front of my face... and then I'll call him an ass for calling out my weakness for buying things impulsively.. The only thing missing from that story was.. and then you decided to buy the store... I'm being completely facetious obviously. But honestly, you just took the conversation to another level BikeMike.. I just can't picture anyone actually really doing that.... just like i can't picture a cardboard box in the corner of the store with the words "piece of junk confiscated fakies" filled to the brim with reps.. At least that's the picture you painted in my head.. p.s. pardon me for sounding brash.. I'm not saying you're not telling the truth.. It's just like i said.. I personally can't imagine a situation like that.. and if i could.. i probably wouldn't be on a replica forum telling people about it
  13. actually yes, I have been back. Never saw the girl Laura again that worked there though... :-( I went with my dad this past year. he ended up with an IWC Mark (can't remember what roman numerals it is). It's funny that this got started back up!
  14. Congratulations to the happy couple. I just jump the broom myself. May you live long and prosper as per the vulkan way. :-)
  15. If Lanikai's whole point is "don't pick a fight unless you're willing to see it through", then my whole point is the advise my grandmother has given me my whole life. Always be careful, never be wreckless. (which i was 2 years ago).. Lanikai seems a bit more of hardliner when it comes to his points.. I tend to sit the fence when it comes to "black and white" issues such as this. Nevertheless, advice given is advice considered for me
  16. You should have no problems. I fly often from Madrid to the States and i've carried up to four watches in my carry-on sometimes. It doesn't matter which brands you wear, no one will care. With one on your wrist and 2 in your bag you should have no problems. Many people that own gens will often travel with a few of their watches. Do you think they go around with the receipts of their watches and their COSC official papers? Probably not. The last thing anyone is going to be worried about is a guy that has 3 watches in his bag. Now... if you had 30 watches.... that's another story.
  17. I didn't realize it was the semi-famous daytona4me.. I somehow missed that until andy pointed that out. He seems very straight forward and honest on the website.. basically that the only thing he guarantees is that he'll get you the watch for the cheapest price.. but not much more.. 12 hour warranty is not promising but at least he says it up front so there shouldn't be any hidden disappointments.
  18. Hey guys. Long time no talk. Been busy getting married and adventuring in cambodia. During my absence i noticed the huge overhaul with the site! i like it a lot but the search feature seems worse and gives me less relevant results.. and in this case.. my search came up completely empty which surprised me. So I've come to ask you guys since it apparenlty hasn't been spoken about before on the forum. ANYWAYS... i stumbled onto this website www.watchwoot.com. The guys prices are the lowest i've seen for the models that he carries. He only has about 50 or 60 models to choose from. He's got UPO's for like $175 or $180 or something if i recall correctly. He also mentions Angus at Puretime in his intro page... Anyone know anything about watchwoot?
  19. as people have said... absolutely nothing would happen. I don't think gen owners go through airports with proof that their watches are genuine just in case police stop them... (OOPS I FORGOT TO BRING MY BREITLING WARRANTY CARD!!) As long as you're not bringing 30 watches through (gen or rep for that matter) i don't think they'd think twice or care whether your watch was fake or not... p.s. Do you think they'd stop you in the airport if you had a fake Louis Vuitton wallet?
  20. That was great. I think i personally prefer the black dial of the 177.. which i'm guessing is based off of this model.
  21. Rolexman was just saying that 10 hours might not be enough! :-) it's ok.. 10 hours might seem like alot, but don't go diving into anything. If you can imagine your question... then multiply it by about 1,000.. that's probably how many times it's been asked here. Guys like rolexman have been on the site for years and dedicated hours upon hours of info and knowledge... and it's here "eternally" they just don't like to repeat themselves. haha. In regards to your swiss questions many rep watches have swiss movements.. and some have swiss "clones".. others have straight up Asian movements that aren't really clones or copies of the real thing. The double AR on the watch your talking about might be worth it and might not.. many hardcore fans, prefer to get aftermarket AR as it's much better quality.. but that's a personal preference. in regards to waterproofing.... with any rep.. it's best never to take in water unless you A.) don't mind risking it getting broken B.) have taken it to a watchsmith to double check it's water resistance. a few names to search for on the forum: silix-prime.com , puretime.com , timeshops.net, kingwatches.net, tt88time.com ... there will be a range of prices. and different models to choose from. Some with ETA swiss clone movements.. some with Asian 21jewel movements. Some with leather straps and some with brushed steel bracelets. the options are limitless. It's truly a great watch. I got mine from Jay at silix-prime:
  22. Looks like there's a new watch seller in spain.. he even lists his cell phone number.. the only curious thing is that his website looks REALLY FAMILIAR!!!! He could have at least changed the model numbers!!! (he's copied kings site directly model numbers and all!)
  23. The SOSF.. why? here's why: (just beautiful) and not a more accurate rep out there! (in my opinion)
