Thanks Andreww .....Anyone else have any idea where i can find a DG2813 with tall cannon pin??? Ajoesmith hasn't gotten back to me yet.. I'm sure it can be found somewhere...
Am I really half way around the world??? i was thinking like a 1/3 way around the world.. but now that i think about it.. i guess we're pretty much the farthest possible distance from each other on the planet... (more or less)..
Anyways.. I obviously had to chime in on this post! Thanks for the pics and the shoutout Lani! Amazing. I thought you had a V3.. But your v2 is in amazing condition. Can't believe you'd never put that strap on before.... looks great.. and unworn!
sorry.. i forgot to say one thing..
You da man!
Hey guys, i'm swapping out the asian21j in my puretime PO for a DG2813 i just ordered from cousins.. everything was going great until i tried to put back on the hands! Turns out that the original movement has a really teeeeny tiny canon pin protruding from the tube... whereas in the new replacement movement it's recessed! I can't stack the hands on the new movement because the canon pin doesn't protrude! Anyone know if there's a 2813 available with tall canon pin? It'd be a lot easier to source another movement if it had taller canon pin than break down both movements and swap the parts... (since i've never done that before.. and frankly it doesn't interest me in the least!)...
anyone chime in on this? Did a quick search on the subject of recessed DG2813s ... comes up empty every time...
Happy holidays,

i've always been curious as to what the process looks like.. I imagine Avitt with this huge, noisy, vaporizer, pvd applicator contraption in his basement or gaarage.. and besides coating watches he's up all night coating everything metal in his home...
Seriously... is that what it's like!??
hmm... I'll consider all options... And to answer your question TeeJay.. I never picked up the deodorant! I got to mercadona every week, so I'll try picking up a can!
Do the $15 DG2813 movements come lubed? or are they still just another accident waiting to happen? I'm guessing that's what most of the 21j movements are already..?
so is that like along the lines of acne or a brain tumor in watch talk?? Is there someting a novice like myself could do? (the most i've done to my movements in the past are adjust the timing lever to make watches run faster/slower.. but that's about the extent of it..
Have an asian "21j" PO that I can't set! The watch will run if given a few shakes with no problem. The problem is when I unscrew the crown and pull it out the hack doesnt engage and the second hand continues to move. At this point you can turn the crown but obviously it doesn't have any affect on the min/hour hands..
What could be the problem here?? Any of you gear heads ever had this happen? If so, can I fix it myself or should i just drop the dough for a new 2824 and call it a day? I don't wanna pay to get 21j fixed if it costs less to get a new one on ofrei for example (saw several chinese movements on ofrei for around $30usd, even though i'm not sure which one would be the most apropriate for this watch.). Or maybe i'll just get a new 2824-2 and have someone qualified drop it in...?
Anyone have any advice?

(p.s. Redwatch... if you read this.. i haven't forgot about our convo... I've just been SOOOO busy!)
Don't see why it might not fit. The datewheel might be an issue, but I'm not an expert.. When you say that You could get your watch repaired if it had this movement.. where do you mean? You still shouldn't take your watch to an authorized dealer and ask them to fix it... that would be wreckless...
Damn.. you got it bad then.. I learned spanish from the wifey.. (well living in spain helps also) haha. None of my family speaks spanish and none of her family speaks english.. we had a completely bi-lingual wedding and ended up having her uncle and my uncle both leading the ceremony in english and spanish. Not sure what your planning, but if you
congrats! I just got married myself. My wife is spanish and i'm from Atlanta.. Needless to say, I understand your logistical situation! Live long and prosper!
Watch looks great.. Not sure it's my style.. mabye a bit too... futuristic?? It appears quite big for your wrist... looks like you've got about 3cm or so of space between the watch and your wrist..
