Email mickey at sino watches. I know several people have bought replacement cases through him. I'm not sure he sells the crystal by itself but at least the case/crystal combo. Been here going on 2 years.. and never dealt with narikaa.. although i've always heard good things. Does he have a website? Does his version include Sapphire crystal with AR? If not... it might be worth it to look into Angus' version at Puretime. $128 for a serviced, sapphire crystal PO with AR is the best I could find anywhere. Most other dealers offer this version with mineral crystal and no AR.

Here's my PO from Angus at puretime. $108+$20 sapphire and AR coatingupgrade= $128 total! have a look. It even came nice and oiled apparently ( i opened up the case once i got it and there's clearly a thin coat of oil that's visible!!!!)

This topic is probably one of the most discussed topics on this board(if not the most). The submariner is probably the most replicated watch in the world, and there's thousands of versions out there. +1! You guys are absolutely correct. I had noticed this before, but forgot to include it in the review. But yes.. the serial numbers on the v3 have a crooked "i" . Since I have both, i think I'll switch my casebacks before I sell my V2

that sucks.. plenty of threads on the forum about it though. Apparently it's just as hard with gens! I took mine to my watch repair shop and they did it in 5 minutes.

Yeah it's pretty far off. I haven't tried this model on, but I have tried on the 2007 rattrapante version Yachtmaster.... The V3 second hand is lacking. I've just ordered a custom painted one.. hopefully it should turn out well. Will let you know how it goes and post pics. -ryan p.s. I wouldn't say that it "SCREAMS" fake.. the chances of anyone having the oppurtunity to see one of the 500 genuine pieces that exist in this world are slim to nil.... put on your watch and enjoy it.

Yes it's your eyes. On both the rep and the gen they look different sizes to me. The reason that the seconds subdial appears larger in circumference is because the tick marks are longer than the tick marks on the 30 min subdial. An easy way to tell that they are the same circumference is to look at where the hands are located on both subdials. The hands are exactly the same size on both subdials and are level with the tick marks on both subdials. Optical illusion. (p.s. this also goes for the 212)

The newest Version3 of the 253 has plenty of flaws. It doesnt detract from it being a well made and good looking watch though. I just did a review on V2 and V3 of this watch. have a look at it. Both versions are worth considering

Josh and Andrew advertise this vesion as Synthetic sapphire, but that's just another way of saying mineral crystal... There are no versions of V2 or V3 with real sapphire crystal.....

AR on this watch is not great. But is similar to Gen Panerais. Gens do not have strong AR either. Due to their curved domed glass, it's hard to make the crystal "disappear" like some omegas and breitlings are known for. From what I can see, the AR is probably single sided on the inner side of the glass. A new version of this watch is probably improbable.. but it's always nice to hope!
