  2. keep me posted.... If i could afford even one gen Montoya.. i'd be happy.... downside is that for the price of most ap's you can usually get various nice gens.. and to be honest, for what they are.. they're not worth the money as far as craftsmanship and complications are concerned. A piece of steel designed by Gerald Genta the same guy responsible for the Royal Oak and several other watches, Vacheron etc. (ingeneur as well i think), with a Valjoux 7750 thrown in there.... I'd rather spend that money on something a bit more unique like an A. Lange & Sohne or something . If you decide to come to madrid keep me posted, not sure but we might be taking a trip down to marbella, spain, but apart from that.. i'm usually around the capital
  3. what would they do if they found out your AP was a rep!?????? In any case.. i doubt EVEN then.. that they would be able to tell the difference in color. You could always get a nice silver or grey themes! i love that watch. p.s. how's it goin exper. long time no talk. big shout out from madrid! if you're ever around europe i love drinking beer and talkin watches
  4. Yes there are 4 versions! the dealers don't help with the confusion. The model you have is usually listed as a "V3 Ultimate" on the dealer sites, but the truth is that it's a completely different watch from a completely different factory than the previous V3. The V3 and V4 both have the sans-serif "1" on the 3'oclock subdial. meaning that the number "1" is just a straight line as per gen. The V1 and V2 have a serif font which looks like this a traditional "1". Great looking watch. I will be updating everyone in the next couple weeks with info about the Sapphire crystal project. We will be moving to the official get-her-done phase of people having to decide on whether to commit to buy. Looks like we've finally found a factory that can do a sapphire crystal for us with single-AR (as per gen) for a good price. Stay tuned
  5. glad it served to help someone! Looks like you have a new V4 correct? Who did the needle mod for you? looks great. the numbers on your v4 look even skinnier than my v3... The crowngaurd looks almost spot on though! wish i could swap my cg for a v4 but apparently not compatible....
  6. the steelfish numbers are surprising.
  7. My friend has a G11 and loves it. I think he got it on sale for $420 or so. The pictures it takes are also damn good. Can't vouch for the others though
  8. ETA! all the way.. It's worth the difference in price. The problem with the 21j.. is that if it breaks in the future.. you won't be able to replace the movement with a good one. you'll have to get another 21j since the hands for the 21j are different than the eta.
  9. Can I ask how much you paid?
  10. No one has to keep comments to themselves as long as they're relavent. I usually don't add comments to threads about people's dealer reviews and say things like. Not sure about so-and-so, but i'd never use anyone besides joshua.. I just don't see the point. Anyways. No harm done. sometimes this internet thing gets things lost in translation easily and we often don't type exactly how we express ourselves verbally. In theory I don't diasagree with you about josh being a good dealer. I also use Josh from time to time, but many of us also use other dealers as well. Nothing wrong with it, just different than what you do. Cheers
  11. I'll try to be there with a tall glass of spanish beer..
  12. Interested in an AP bracelet but can't seem to find them anywhere. Not even Genuines on ebay!
  13. Great... .. I didn't know this thread was about Monacos, but thanks for bringing it up. Again.. Like jkay said.... dealers are free to charge whatever they like.. and sell whatever they like. it's up to us to make the decision on whether or not to buy a certain watch. If you've decided not to use trevor simply because he has a watch in his inventory that you don't agree with... I don't know what to tell you. Josh has the biggest inventroy of most dealers on the board and as such has VARIOUS versions of many of the watches he sells.. including lower quality versions as well. Regardless of your comment.. i don't see what his having a lower quality monaco has to do with whether or not he is a good dealer. And worst of all, you have no direct personal experience with him to try to compare him to Josh. The fact that josh might not sell a specific model might not have anything to do with whether or not josh is a good or a bad dealer.. Sorry if i sound frustrated, but comments like yours really do rub me the wrong way. This is a thread about my experience with trevor. If you have other experience to contribute (GOOD OR BAD) with trevor.. by all means please do so, but please remain relevant.
  14. possibly possibly

  17. no worries.. I don't think anyone doubts Josh's or Bk's integrity anymore than trevor's. No offense taken, i'm glad people have been able to take my experience with trevor and use it accordingly
  18. Glad you like josh. I've gotten plenty of things from him as well and have also always been very pleased. Not sure what about the dssd pictures i put up make you think that Trevor's version is "crap" that he likes to stock. As I said, my decision to deal with trevor was purely economical.. not to mention he provided qc photos of the watch in question for almost half the price of what josh charged. Glad that Josh has worked out for you, and that you will only deal with him from now on.
  19. Good luck with this. I hope you get it working! My only question... Why did you use the word "rape" in your title?........
  20. pretty cool Teejay!
  21. for me it wasn't worth spending more. I've got a Gen Swiss eta 2836 movement DSSD with 316f steel and good solid build quality. All the qualities of a V5 for almost half the price that other dealers charge. Trevor sent me 2 sets of QC pics (all with date written on a piece of paper along with my email address).... all of the exact same watch that I received... QC couldn't have been better for me with trevor. I'll also telll you that i was the first on the forum to print my experiences with him, and am partly responsible for him becoming a dealer here as a result of my flawless transaction. Having said that. I realize that not everyone has had such a perfect transaction with him. One person received a watch with a cracked bezel that i recall. If you're seriously considering his Version DSSD.. i HIGHLY reccomend it, but i would make sure to contact him first and ask about whether or not he has any left. He also got married this summer and had to deal with his town getting completely wiped out in the southern china floods back in may/june. Try to contact him and see what he can do for you. I've heard great things from BK as well as josh.. but i refused to pay $440usd for a watch that I can get qc'ed from trevor for $240usd.... my .02cents
  22. how'd the transaction go Frankbullitt? I'm curious. Hopefully well!
  23. I'm guessing king's is probably more accurate.. But i love the every so slightly bolder look of trevor's version.. I'm not sure which is actually more accurate
  24. I wear Levi's 514 slims something that i'd typically wear:
