  1. 3717 rep:(photos thanks to arminvanbuuren) up your ally? get it serviced for 50-100bucks and you've got a watch that can last a lifetime
  2. haha... patience.. been more like 2 weeks and some change... not a full month. remember february only has 28 days!
  3. awesome areview Dovo! It really looks as if you've received an inferior Swiss SOSF. My AR on my swiss is amazing (white dial)... Gen breits are usually very bluish with the AR and my rep captures that. I've had both watches and recently sold my asian to another member. My asian was from silix: My swiss version.. notice the AR:
  4. Oh yeah I forgot.. So you're saying that a 300,000 car costs 275,000 in Dubai? Wow what a savings.. If you can afford the latter.. you can afford the former...
  5. Although you're right that maybe it will look less assuming if you send a watch with "repair work" on it. Most customs agents that seize a watch would probably be wondering why the hell you're sending a watch across the sea to "repair" it. Secondly.. if it's really worth repairing... why are you insuring it for only 10 or 20euros/dollars? Although it sounds harmless enough.. the best way to get a watch through customs is well disguised and well hidden. I've received 4 watches from china inside of toys..... Never had a problem For shipping within EU or CONUS there's no problem shipping the rep.. but crossing lines.. i wouldn't risk it.. especially if the watch is a precious franken or has alot of money invested into it. Trust me.. I wouldn't be sending a franken worth $1200 for it's parts across the ocean declared as "broken watch parts" unless I was willing to pay the insurance costs of declaring it a $1200 watch. (which many people are not willing to do) for fear of the receptor having to pay high tarriffs upon the package's arrival. Better to be safe than sorry..
  6. Which sites do you use that aren't mentioned anywhere on the forum? Notice i didn't say "trusted dealers" There's quite a few out there mentioned throughout the site that don't have their own section in the "dealers" subforum.
  7. Not quite sure about the end pieces. The skyland bracelet looks like this: I'm not sure about your serial numbers.. but maybe a breitling expert can chime in here...
  8. What about a serviced IWC 3717... i'm beginning to think you've got something against reps... When you say you're not a fan of watches with bezels, you mean.. numbered bezels right? 99% of watches have bezels.... Maybe another Velatura Version SPC005: Or how about an SNL041:
  9. P4GTR is correct. It's not necessarily true that your watch will arrive with 8 hour power reserve.. but it's a fairly common problem to have low power reserve on an unserviced watch. Watch servicing should include a complete disasembly of the movement, a cleaning of all parts, oiling and reassembly of the movement. This can vary anywhere from 50euros from a trusted local watchsmith to 400euros at an Authorized Dealer. (obviously they won't work on reps though). Depending on where you are, you could send the watch to Vacuum, or Ziggmeister if your in the U.S. or Francisco or Dominico if you're in europe.
  10. sold for 15,000... damnit.. i guess we can't stop em all!
  11. Hey Denz, Yeah my price was EXCELLENT. Hont started this deal back in March or April. It was a limited time only. I didn't order my watch from him until May or June and he got it to me for $260 or $270.. I don't think he's still doing this deal, but you can always ask if he'll sell it to you for this price. He doesn't list prices on his website so prices are often negotiable as with King.. He also included free shipping but that was a special favor. The watch came NO PROBLEM to EU and it arrived in a week. Nothing but good things to say about hont
  12. You should meet up with EXPER and his lambo as well as meet his friend with the GEN montoya!!
  13. haha. Yes.. the confusion is that my watch is not a Super Avenger Blacksteel! It's a Skyland Avenger Blacksteel... i like the dial much more of my watch than the Super Avenger.. the super avenger looks like it has too much blank space on it! of course there's a lot more space they need to fill on a 48mm watch.
  14. Well wrapped.. and hidden inside something if possible. A cheap toy or teddy bear would be preferable. Otherwise.. very well wrapped with bubble wrap. Sending priority should be fine. You can never garuantee anything. Also don't DECLARE IT A REPLICA!!
  15. I can never understand how people can just "done" after one last project... I prefer to say... never say never.. You'll be back
  16. Be patient but persistent.. I'm sure he'll work something out with you. If not.. Francisco here in spain might be able to fix it.
  17. Don't use any site that's not on the foum...
  18. Is that a gen bracelet? with those rounded screws i would've guessed not. I thought gen screws were completely flat. If you'd like help about sizing.. more info would be nice. The lugs between the skyland are 22mm.. so if this bracelet is 22mm lug width then i think you're ok. You'll also have to find endlinks. The endlinks of your bracelet don't look like a good fit with the skyland... but not sure. Good luck with it!
  19. @spooky: A couple guys at my gym wear their gen subs to work out and it completely IRKS me to see that. I especially like digital for running and keeping lap time etc. Don't worry as soon as the workout ends.. it's back on with the Blacksteel, Steelfish, DSSD or UPO.. (or whatever other watch I've decided for that day!)
  20. Thanks alot Antstar. It's a great watch, I get compliments on it all the time. It's been fully serviced and should last me forever if i take good care of it. It's running silky smooth and the power reserve last for about 30 hours. Before i got it serviced it was a very short power reserve of 8 hours. The other watch that I was considering was a Top Gun V2. (another black and red themed dark colored watch). I'm glad i got this one when I did mainly for the great price. I'll might end up getting a Top Gun as well later this summer.. but who knows..
  21. why would the hairs in your arm get ripped out? How about a velatura? about 275gbp on ebay....
  22. Hey guys, I work out about 4 days/week. I never wear reps to work out in, but I do like to have a digital watch especially if I run. My 10 year old Timex Atlantis watch battery died last week.. and rather than just get a replacement battery, I'm thinking I want a new digital. I've been looking at lots of digitals and this is what I'm looking at getting. Since its my birthday in 3 weeks.. i might ask the wife for this one: Casio G-shock GW-7900b This watch really does it for me.. I LOVE the screws on the front and reverse digital display. The chunky look is really great too. Anyone have this watch or seen it in person. Any other models you'd suggest..??? It's a little more expensive ($150 from casio's website) than my 40buck timex.. but looks leauges ahead as far as features and quality are concerned.
  23. Stay safe Lanikai
  24. amazing photos. Great watch
