Only the 3 versions for now, no black but I'm sure many versions will follow quite quickly. Black gen. version is ceramic, but don't know what they have planned for the rep. as it would be too costly, same as solid rose gold. The RG is not solid but plated on this rep. Unless you want to pay the premium I guess a custom group order could be arranged later. Angus?

Saw that at of all places at Costco last weekend for $1,800 US, its got to be cheaper in Euros. Still, enjoy Maikel, you lucky guy! Very impressive.

Excellent!

Go with the silver hands. Since this is a two tone, having the mix of gold bezel on a steel case, the dial with gold markers and steel hands seems to match better all around IMHO. I'd agree with having the dial markers and hands all gold if the bezel and case were one color. Besides, I find more credible the Hublot's president, J.C. Bivers's description of the final production of the F1 as opposed to the gold hands I see in the catalog pictures used to sell these watches on the internet. And a real production watch posted by a seller on Timezone, that is more support that the silver hands do follow the Hublot president's description as correct for the F1.
-
Oh, sorry, just caught that. So now we see the back of the F1 and correct engraving on the case. Well, unless they can fix the movement flaws, its a moot point if the back case bezel for F1 is also wrong at this point in time. I guess that just makes the SS version all that much more accurate as a rep.

First, big thanks to TwoTone for putting this back in Gen. Discussion so we can post discussions on this project. I've really taken interest as this is the first rep. I've ordered for myself in 18 months. @RiverwindMDS, I don't think they will be able to change the movement flaws as the project already has the movement ordered from that particular factory. Probably as with our hobby, it will be months later that these movement flaws will be corrected as the later generations of this rep. appear and new movements ordered. There is a price to pay for being first up on a project such as this, look what happened with the PAM 196's, the carousel tourbillons, , especially the POs, etc., the first ones in paid a $$ penalty and accurancy penalty. But that is the way of this hobby and should not be forgotten and faults should be forgiven. Patience is such a sin here in watchreplicaholics anonymous that we forget we will all be buying the same near perfect model (improved) from Joshua, Andrew and Angus, et. al. in the short time it takes to put out the other models based on these latest generations. Nice thing about this project, this is the first time I've been excited to participate in actually correcting the few flaws on an upcoming replica with the watchmaker through a dealer. @trustywatchguy aka Andrew - we all appreciate all of you over there, I know maybe accolades may get misplaced as you all probably had a hand in coercing this manufacturer to make this watch with your input, but Angus has been most forthcoming with information and amazing pictures of the disassembled case that it feels he participates deeper in the process of this model rep. project since it appears he is the one who currently has the manufacturer's ear, irregardless who initiated the idea. Given dues to where due. Due dilligence where shown is my evidence. And yeah, we knew the possibility that this watch might be delayed after Christmas, Angus told us so, so no surprise there. Regards

Why Puretime's Topic About The Hublot Bb Has Been Moved To His Section?
omni replied to V's topic in General Discussion
I agree, the ongoing comments from the interested members did make a significant difference correcting several flaws in the upcoming project. -
No. 1 Hands are more accurate to the gen. However, and this IMHO is a glaring fault, the roman numerals are too big in No. 1, you can tell how big by comparing to the date window. On such a small amount of dial surface it becomes more apparent than if it occured on a larger watch.

You're welcome Pho. I must reply that phoband is quite an articulate and fascinating conversationalist, very interesting to talk to for such a youngster! Youngster, meaning just about anybody I meet at my age now. We covered quite a lot of ground in the short time over lunch. Yes, this just shows you what oddball WIS forum people we are, that we will walk into the top seafood restaurant on Maui and we both order a steak, well, mine did come with a martini. Glad I could show phoband a little local Hawaiian aloha spirit while he passed through. Anybody else, please drop by on your way through, you'll be welcome. Maui No Ka Oi.

I've read this thread and agree with Pugwash. Barbara, although you may not agree with the admins on that forum, you should not chafe and should be decent enough to respect their wishes, no matter if it seems like an agnostic politically correct mindset. When I jump between forums, I keep aware that I'm in someone elses house with different rules, and don't try to bend them. I also use different sides of my personality for each forum, where one would probably not be well looked at in another forum although the subject is the same. If you really believe they are trying to shut you out because you tell the truth about your product, just be cool about it and play by their rules, it gives them less reason to be unreasonable. Oh, and may all of God's Blessings be upon you this season for the reason!

Wow, great detailed pics., thanks Angus. I can see now trying to fit a CF strap to this is going to take some ingenuity.

tvt: The hands are different because all the blue genuine hands I've examined are "blued" steel while all the replica blue hands are usually painted making them look cheaper.
-
Interesting observation. If you are comparing to the one tonton2000 just posted, yes it is different, if you are comparing to the gen pics posted on timezone and elsewhere, it is correct except the printing is just slightly skinnier on the rep. The 2 and 3 numbers match, but the one on tonton2000's wrist doesn't match to the gen pics. previously posted. Edit: On second thought after more examination, I believe you are right and the date font is not exact.
-
Maybe tonton2000 can enlighten us. The back of the watch still had the TRL sticker attached, so why would that be if it was a beat up used gen. with a missing pusher? Interesting? I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist so no issues with this watchsize. My problem is opposite, smaller than 38mm looks dinky on my wrist.

Omega BroadArrow rep, white dial, blue hands, steel bracelet. I must have just drooled over that watch in the pictures for days, but stupidly never went down to an AD and looked for it, well, actually it wouldn't have done me any good because since then I've looked at my local AD and they never carry it. But I bought the rep. and was completely turned off by how it looked on my wrist. I wore it for over a month just trying to get to like it but it never took. It seemed to me to lack the form, style and function I was after, obviously a personal thing for me and a conundrum. The rep. was fine, datewheel was too small but the rest of the watch a good representation. Gave it away immediately.

Winfax is old tech requiring a modem. Think of the difference between PCAnywhere of old and GoToMyPC for remote computing, old required phone line, GoToMyPC completely webbased. If your mobile phone is like mine, a Palm Treo, it is already a G3 modem which I use via bluetooth to mobile websurf on my laptop when there are no hotspots, I use Verizon's dialup webservice. Pugwash is correct, you could use your mobile phone with Winfax. Only way I know of using broadband is a service like efax or jfax, the latter which I have and costs my company $15 per month. You could probably find a cheaper service with less frills. I can fax directly to a conventional phone no. via the computer, plus our received faxes all come in as email attachments which makes picking them up and reading a whole lot easier than having to wait to get to a fax machine. Another plus is I've had people call my jfax no., leave a voice message which also came as an email attachment. Hope that helps. Regards.

Slay: I have respect for everyone's opinion, so no I am not laughing at you and not being insulting. Take a look in the mirror: I didn't take offense at your comment which seemed to say my opinion was "[censored]" or that in your timezone post started off alluding to everyone being non-intellect who disagreed, so I don't think you should take offense if I disagree with your opinion, which I did read, afterall. This is a forum, that is what a forum is for, to discuss. Intellectual property rights abound, it is illegal to make counterfeits, however, when using prop money in a movie or TV show, which I'm sure you have seen, why don't you get as incited by the illegality of them using counterfeit dollar bills, and what kind of picture that paints to an audience? What difference is that to a fake watch?
-
So you are saying Kill Bill portrays real life? Hollywood is all based on fantasy, thats entertainment. If they make a western do you think they are using real colt revolvers or replicas? Orgasms are faked, shouldn't the actors paint a real picture to the viewing audience and really have real sex? Its all play acting, down to the costuming, furniture and jewelry.
-
I don't take it personal. But its obvious you've never worked in showbiz, , TV, Hollywood or been near a movie set, all things I have been in my careers and lifetime. I can tell you first hand, whatever is handy, unless they really want accuracy, will be used, including fake name branded copyrighted items. Your argument is full of holes.
-
Very true, but I'm at an age where I'm secure in myself and earned the right to really not give a rat's ass or fear what other people think when I tell them I'm wearing a rep. V: Good research, although I also had my doubts about the hands being silver, the quote you dug up from j.c.biver confirms it. uziuzi: Good comments on Hublot.
-
We covered this in a RWG thread when the movie first came out in dvd. In the movie biz, a lot of the items actors wear are from the prop dept., its part of the costuming. As expensive as movies are to make they don't usually have $10 K - $20 K daytonas in the inventory. Most everything provided is a replica. However, since Pannies are not that expensive, the ones you probably see in recent movies are probably real unless the prop. dept. guys are members of our rep. forums! Also product placement by the watch companies goes on, thus you will see IWC, Omega, etc. vying for screen time on closeups of actors checking the time on their watches.

TvT: Wasn't a "gold" guy either but was getting a little tired of the same thing and well, it seems to fit now that I'm almost 60. I've had too many steel, platinum, silver watches and just purchased a gen RG Girard.P vintage dress watch off of ebay to try something different. Now I'd like to see how a two-tone case looks on my wrist and finally found in the BigBang design something that appealed to me.................and I know why the fake Carb.Fiber bugs you because you had stated your reason for collecting reps was the "fun of the hunt" seeing how close to a gen. you could find. Obviously the stamped CF ain't it. The fit and finish of any rep. will never stand up to a gen. no matter how much some believe it will, so really the minor flaws don't bother me.
-
Both TVT and Admin are probably correct on the CF dial being poly stamped, although Angus hasn't really said one way or the other, but being silent on the issue means its probably stamped. But call that another flaw I can live with on the RG version since showing the back of the case will reveal more flaws. It is the overall look I'm after personally since its for tryout purposes only, I'm not gonna have this watch forever so gold plating doesn't bother me. I believe the RG version is the much better looking of the two. When I'm wearing a rep. I always let my peers know it and why I'm wearing it, I don't want them to get the wrong impression since I'm in the company of gen wearers who don't need impressing. Most people will never pickup that it is stamped CF from 2 ft away, the overall combination of looks is what I'm after, not to fool anyone. That's why I'm wondering if a CF strap can be fitted to this. If you want it for other purposes then I agree, go with the SS version for now until they come out with the black bezel version.
-
I know all you guys that are buying the rose gold bezel / carbon fiber dial version are thinking of how that will look with a carbon fiber strap, I know I am.

There always is snow in Cabo, Nanug, they make it from a block of ice and put it in the margaritas.
