Thanks R SMP's? Are you thinking of the PO's possibly? Thats what the concern was with these recent SMP's, that they changed the bezel construction to that of the PO. King apparently stated her SMP's were built like that. I think she may have been mistaken, I believe she gets the same stuff as Josh..

Hopefully something comes along. It's amazing what it takes just to get some minor detail right. Luck and patience... Hairdryer method. Get it hot with a hair dryer and wiggle it forcefully back and forth. the glue should eventually loosen up. Use your fingernail to put pressure on the pearl to spin the insert.

Why dont you see if you can't get a few from a collector, BT? The only problem is you never know what you will wind up with. Might be worth a shot though. As it stands, mine doesn't look bad at all anymore. Might be worth it, then you can move onto hating your He position and CG's even more. Gen inserts are way too expensive, especially if there is no guarantee it will fit. After I finished all this I ran up to the gas station and the guy in line next to me was wearing a gen SMP. I immediately thought "look how damn obvious the gen is. Agh!"

I know there has been some confusion about the bezel and pearl fix still working with the latest SMP's. Just wanted to share some recent findings. By-Tor's original all inclusive SMP modding guide can be found here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=4509&st=0 If mods want to merge, feel free. Recently there was a thread, where King stated the pearl is connected to the bezel underneath the insert, and protruded through the insert. I believe this may not be the truth since she carries the same thing as the other main collectors. This caused some confusion for me and some others. The SMP used for this thread is a recent one from Josh. The pearl itself was good, but was off center in the triangle. This really bothered me. Josh was great about the issue and immediately sent a replacement insert. Watch as received: The question was, how was I going to get the insert off? I tried popping the bezel off but it was extremely difficult. Early tutorials say the bezel pops off with ease, but any more force and something was going to bend or break on mine. Noobmariner bezel issues kept circulating through my mind. And what about the pearl? If it was attached to the bezel underneath, the hairdryer trick was not going to work either. Well That is not the case. The pearls are attached to the inserts themselves, breathe easy. With a moderate amount of blow drying, using my fingernail against the pearl, I was able to wiggle and slide the insert back and forth until it came off. No more worries about the PO like construction of SMP bezels, yes? This is what it looks like after you free the insert. The new insert arrived and was much better, but the pearl itself was inaccurate now. It was more like a Submariner pearl then a Seamaster. What needed to be done was to switch the good pearl, into the good insert. The pearls pop out easily just use some care as always. I used a toothpick for a little help, and voila. I use a tiny bit of gorilla glue on the pearl, and on the insert to keep it in place. Make sure you line your pearl up with the points in the scalloped bezel edge, not the indentations.

Just a heads up that the pearl is not attached to the bezel, just the insert on a SMP I recently got from josh.

Thats a pretty serious setup Rob. What are the disks on the wall?

PAM cutout dials lume, trying to replicate the lume
P4GTR replied to RWG Technical's topic in The Panerai Area
That explains why they are so bright, that cutout is DEEP! Gen dial? -
The orange would look really good on the right watch. I don't think thats the one though hows the glow?

Its not just you. The Rob-attacks are a bit old. Rob you're a good seed. The topic is an interesting one to mull over. Anyone that spends too much time here will feel unappreciated at some point though, it happens. Especially someone as long winded as you ahaha and what would a Rob thread be without me telling you I love you?

Some facts about this watch: The working name was the Armhair-Dweller. A common misconception was Rolex increased the size of the case to increase depth limits in water, when in actuality it was to increase its depth limit in arm hair. Based on extensive research, it was realized that the typical Rolex owner had approximately 1.5" of armhair, which obstructed the full view of the watch. This is bad advertising for Rolex. Another lesser known fact: The "ORIGINAL GAS ESCAPE VALVE RING LOCK SYSTEM" surrounding the dial was originally conceived by one of the designers after he ripped major ass during one of the preliminary design meetings. Put two and two together, and history is made. Sphyncter just didn't have the same ring to it, but the similarities are still there. Is Rolex laughing under their breath, politely calling owners of these watches... Assholes?

I'd like to throw a thanks in here too. This is top notch review, a lot of time spent on this and it shows.

Anyone else with me?

Welcome. That thing sucks. You are wasting your money if you buy that. I say get the best version of whatever watch you like. Then when it arrives you will unwrap it and go

Great review! Wow, they really dropped the ball on the clasp, but otherwise it is a very nice piece. Congrats on getting the gen. Proof that reps lead to gens..

I've done just that, and it does work. I lifted the spring part over the regulator and increased the tension of it, then put it back in place. When I regulated the mvmt that portion wouldn't touch anymore, so I just bent it closer. Also, if I remember correctly, my screw for the swan regulator was actually a pin, not a screw.

The ETA SFSO is a great choice, great AR, just a great watch right out of the box. Perfect first rep, but it will probably make you go nuts buying more. I would get the SS bracelet and if you want the leather, purchase it in addition. due to your location. I would use Eurotimez, or check out Precious Time as Andy said.

Welcome What kind've help are you looking for?

It's great when a watch withstands the test of time.

Aquired a vintage Seamaster Calender on the bay
P4GTR replied to ChipWrecked's topic in The Omega Area
Congrats man! The PC i'm at is behind a proxy server so it's blocking your pics but I look forward to checking them out later. Was going through my late grandparents jewlery with my father semi-recently. The family failed to notice what smacked me in the face immediately, and is now mine. (please forgive the temp strap)
