  1. This is probably something that "Ah-nold" had a hand in designing. Reminds me alot of the T3 with an EoD flair. I mean, aside from their corporate-sponsored Alinghi models, the only one I've seen the most iterations in an LE is something named for him.
  2. The top picture you have is reminiscent of the "Calibre 36" versions. It was updated in the later years (second picture was older models) as the 7750's used in TAGs have been largely undecorated.
  3. I wonder if all the rep link bracelets come like that. the reason why I ask is that there are gaps between links on the bracelet. A nice GMT indeed, but it sorely need a new bracelet! Good job getting the A/R done!
  4. There are two versions of the Aquanaut. Standard and Jumbo. Likely the rep was modelled after the Jumbo.
  5. They are looking for the most cost--effective way to do these things. There are probably real screws in it, but possibly glued in since there are low-quality threading/screws in these things.
  6. when monday comes and i react to the shock of the markets... ...maybe i can be saved.
  7. Looks like a new AP ROO rep is coming on the horizon... I've spotted this on King's site: Compare that to one version of the gen: Which makes me wonder...if this is for real or what? Could a yacht-timer mod really be had from a 7750? One interesting tidbit to note is that it isn't constructed in the same fashion as the ROO "Ultimate", but it looks good, nonetheless! Your thoughts?
  8. Well, the same can be said for an ETA 2894. Modular chnorograph; and I've got one in a Breitling Crosswind. But seven years later and it works as well as the day I brought it home.
  9. Well I should have did a little more reading before I posted, but... Gen bracelets can't fit on strap cases (the 104 is a strap case) without the use of a "microlink" (that part sells for about $250). The bracelet cases have a dent on the underside of the case that would hold the bracelet.
  10. I'm a little confused... What throws me off is the bracelet, because it looks aftermarket to me. Gen bracelets taper. The crown also looks a little thin for a 104. Maybe if he said it were a PAM50 I'd be inclined to believe it. But then again, the PAM50 doesn't have the "Automatic" text on the dial!
  11. I found one for $2,000...but if I were you, I'd be confident about the fitment before purchasing.
  12. Thoe are pics of a genuine Blacksteel. The case is an inner leather with an outer bakelite box. The lume dots are evenly applied and are a perfect circle with white outline, even at 3:00.
  13. If you live in a major city, check out sample sales the designers sometimes buyback some of their inventory from the stores to liquidate them. They usually run for a week and discounts get deeper toward the last day or two. I'm big on Ferragamos, so being able to buy a pair of $400 shoes for only $89 is like the kind of deal only a complete moron would pass up!
  14. well, i reported it anyway. if he is being that much of a jerk, and it is real and cancelled, then he deserves it.
  15. I just wonder if the seller knew he was selling a fake. He also has a 6.75 Bentley listed and that is authentic. Or, it could be to bolster the thinking that "well one is real, then both definitely are!"
  16. Well maybe the seller unknowingly is selling a rep... I guess any prospective buyer can call the seller. Though the 2007 Breitling box is wrong (I have one in front of me and it has a propeller image on the top of it), the easiest tell is if whether or not the papers will match the case. And yes, I do see that the "15" is offset from center. Just questionable, is all. ---------------------------------------- EDIT: Nevermind, seller's description is questionable. He says he will ship with boxes, but no papers, just an appraisal certificate. Heck, anyone can write that.
  17. try this document: https://secure.eta.ch/CSP/DesktopModules/Vi...&DocType=DT Maybe not teardown instructions, but definitely assembly instructions. I used this to completely disassemble and assemble a 7750.
  18. Bottom looks like a PAM 51...and since there isn't much demand for the 40mm PAMs as there are for the 44mm's, haggle on price. JMO, but $4700 is a little crazy for it. If it were $500 less, then it would be about right. BTW, if I am looking at the correct sales ad, the price for the bottom was changed to $4200, right around my guess. And small world; my friend purchased a Breitling from the seller. They are most definitely gens.
  19. If they're not gens, then they must have the best CG's and dial print I have ever seen.
  20. It is probably the RG Rubberclad. But hey, he deserves it!
  21. Initially, I came here for purely selfish reasons---I just purchased a supposedly "gen" PAM 113 but once I googled the caseback numbers, I was pointed here. Yes, I was once a pretentious snot like those at OTHER watch forums. but when I put in my first post, I think the first person that welcomed me here was Corgi. Or at least his is the post I remembered most. Now we are like a small community scattered across a large world. I hope to meet some of you someday.
  22. I say go with the second movement; I'm not too sure which has better shock protection, but for some reason i feel better with the Incabloc than the Kif on the first. Additionally, T beautifully finishes his movements.
  23. Two things that go together...a legend and a classic.
  24. I liked the older bracelet design and for some models, the alternating brushed/polished parts from within a single link. They also had a hint of what is Panerai: the crown guard design on each link. It looks like the new design takes a lot less effort to create and lot less cost to manufacture. It does look beautifully finished, though. But definitely not worth the price they may ask for it (possibly the same as the old design bracelet).
  25. Yeah, looks like a false alarm. I'm sorry guys. Here's a gen pic (courtesy TZ): I naturally assumed that the 24mm and 22mm Pro II bracelets were made the same way, just that the links were narrower. I guess I'll save the post for when the SA on bracelet gets released. OOPS!
