Cousins are your friends.
I believe these are the ones you want, if it's just the spring bars you buy from them you pay more in postage than the cost of the bars themselves (but they're very good and very quick).
About the only thing he can say is wrong is that the lume isn't as good and the bracelet feels wrong.
So, get the lume sorted and oil the bracelet and job's a good 'un!
His first reply to me said that it's "GENUINE swiss made" and the second that "my watch 100% real.!!!"
Maybe he really thinks it is gen, dunno.
/edit - Of course he can't think it's gen, if so why sell a 10k watch for 199 starting price with no reserve.
I have two favourite reps now, the white Steelfish and my new Explorer II. The Steelfish is off at The Zigmeisters being serviced and superlumed, the lume is the only thing that gives it away really.
I'm sad every day it's away!
I stood admiring the 'white' faced one in the window of an AD while wearing my 'white' rep. Neither are true white and at the correct angle, the colour of the rep dial looked identical to the genuine article.
Oh my word, so may different ones to choose, I'm spoiled for choice. I really have no idea which one I want!
I think it would be either the one with just 'Submariner' on and no depths or the 100m one, but I have no idea on the accuracy or otherwise of any of these.
Mine appear bent as well, it seems to be common on reps. I've not taken the bracelet off because I think it's going to be really somewhat tricky to put back on because of that (I've got a Tag Link which came with bent springbars and I've spent hours trying to refit the bracelet). My Explorer II was the same.
I'm just not keen on the black faced Explorer - To me it's too much like a Sub with the black face and the merc hands. I'd totally discounted the idea of owning an Explorer until I saw your review of the white faced one and bought that model immediately!
Great review as always, just the watch does nothing for me I'm afraid.
I got the box from eBay from a seller with the ID of the-watch-maker. He's selling them as gen, but I wouldn't know if they are or not. It seems well made and very good quality, but it could just be a good copy for all I know. It looks good with the watch inside though
I've got two watches which I don't wear very often that have been sitting in the winder since April, both with very little wrist time.
One, a Seiko diver has started running quite slow and loses an hour or so a week and the other is a Tag Link with the 7750 movement and it's just started losing a few minutes a day.
I've not had either of them serviced and both were keeping excellent time up until now.
Any reason why this is likely to have happened?
