  1. I know from experience what that's like, I wish you well.
  2. I bought ELs 127 (I think it's the previous version from the one he's currently selling) and it's very good. It's a 581 caseback and I don't believe the case is far from 1:1. I've had the hands and pin done, but haven't needed to have it relumed because I don't think it needs it. I get a bright noticeable glow when I go from outside to inside, and am able to see the lume after 8 hours by the side of my bed overnight. The only thing against it is that I think it's a mineral crystal but to be honest, I'm not 100% sure about that! I wear it on custom made distressed brown leather, it's a beaut.
  3. no I didn't look at the date, I was just googling for the model and that popped up. I thought it looked good but the price was a bit concerning. Ahh well. Never mind.

  5. Shame it's not an automatic otherwise I'd buy one. My range bag is S&W so it'd go with it nicely
  6. I'm not sure, I sold my bracelet.
  7. For what it's worth, I would never buy and wear a replica of a watch I own the genuine version of. I don't see the point in it. A dink here or a dink there doesn't hurt and if anything looks wrong it's a watch which is years old but looks brand-spanking new.
  8. ... and if it's the standard length, like the one I got with my 005 then it's not going to go around your wrist, mine was a very snug fit on my 8.5" wrist. Too snug.
  9. Man, your sig is Huge with a capital aitch. Takes up half my screen
  10. Ahh, keyboard warriors, love 'em If he's that bad, why is it that many people on here seem to recommend him for so much stuff? Certainly anyone mentions any Omega upgrades and they get pointed to him and I've read a lot of posts suggesting using him. Seems very strange if he's been bad like this for a long time.
  11. Heh, perfect. But I wonder how many of the people here now don't know the Jetmid reference. Which is a shame.
  12. Thanks, not using that theme. Don't see the prizes anywhere though. *blind as a bat* ignore me, found 'em
  13. I wore a £1200 (so about $2300) Tag for five years continuously, except when I was sleeping and thought nothing of it. It was a real beater, got knocked about and scratched up and it didn't bother me in the slightest. I feel the same about my reps. I'm a bit more careful about them getting wet but that's mainly because the majority are on leather but I didn't treat the gen any differently than I do to the reps really.
  14. So taking that naturally one step further, when I go out for some beer with my mates, am I going on a 'former'?
  15. Doh! I see what you mean now, bending the shaping bit itself, not trying to adjust the [censored]bly bit on the end Sorted, thank you.
  16. I've tried doing that, Neil but it's actually worn really badly and won't lock back even with bendage. I'll try harder.
  17. Mrs. kasigi is giving me some grief. Over the time she's had her Pasha the buckle has gone from being very tight to being very loose. The sticky out bit at A should click into the hole at point B. But it doesn't, it's worn badly. I need this exact type of deployant, where the strap folds back on itself like at C. Anyone know where I can get one? eBay hasn't been good for this.
  18. Perhaps I'm not explaining it right. On straps where the second keeper isn't used, I remove it. This would be any commercial strap, I've never found a pre-made one yet that's long enough for me to have to use two keepers. However, on custom straps such as the one posted above and this one: I glue the second keeper in place so that when the strap goes through it, I don't have to mess around adjusting the position. Is that clearer?
  19. Mmm, long. How does 150x90 sound? Here it is with the second keeper firmly glued. When it's on and fastened, there are just three stitches of the strap poking out
  20. Does anyone else get fed up with it moving around and glue it in place, or is it just me? /edit - I didn't explain this very well, read post 8 in this thread for what I meant in more detail
  21. Today I'm being very Linkish (took the picture yesterday to show a friend, hence the hand position, but today it has the hands in the right place and showing the right date!)
  22. Went to visit mum and dad today and my mum handed me this.... First picture is sans flash, second and third are with flash hence the different colouring. I'm sure I remember wearing that when I was about 7, it was the first watch I got and I got it for Christmas. I've just turned 40 so it makes it around 33 years old. I reckon I'd have worn it pretty much continuously for around 7 or 8 years until I got my first digital watch (hey, it was fashionable at the time). It's been roughly treated. Excuse what you can see of the bracelet, my mum wore it for a while a few years back. It works. Sort of. Sometimes it'll run for hours with no problems but other times it just stops every few minutes. When the crown is pulled (it's not screw-down lol) and turned the movement feels very very lumpy and bumpy. There would once have been luminous dots as the number markers, they're just brown blobs now although the hands still do have a faint glow after being exposed to light. It is very faint though. Note - Not SWISS MADE but GREAT BRITAIN
