  1. As far as I know all movements have slots for case clamps. Post a picture. There are variations between screws. Not all ETA screws are alike.
  2. Well. A watch is like a car. You buy it in perfect condition and even when you treat it very very well it's always possible that something breaks down. A movement (like the motor in your car) is under constant strain. Riding your bike, a walk in the park, playing with your dog, running after your toddler.. it's always possible something breaks, get's loose or shifts out of place. Also a movement is never dust proof. The crown is always the entry point (when setting or winding). Maybe a little dirt or debree got in and is causing problems. Who knows? If it got a proper service it usually is something small. Just have it looked at.
  3. GREAT!!! I like that look a lot. The only thing holding me back from buying this baby is I have no clue how to ever rebrush the bezel if needed.
  4. Watchboys Canada... best OEM-like gator strap out there.
  5. Brand new 25% off EU catalogue price. Shoot me a PM.
  6. Best thing you have it looked at by a local watchsmith.
  7. Or not enough power is generated due to faulty main spring or dirty gear train...
  8. In order to turn that screw properly you have to uncase the movement. Best you use the regulator arm. That is tricky because it only needs the slightest tap. Just tap the arm with the golden pin ever so slightly counter-clockwise (slower). If you see the arm move you tapped to hard. Give it a tap back clockwise (faster). Use a loupe.
  9. I think JMB means that most of the parts between the clone and Swiss are interchangeable. I can confirm that. In terms of Angus: the construction of the chassis of the old clone was already the same as the Swiss 2836. The only improvements they could have made are therefore aesthetical. So they improved the notches of the shock absorber, holes in the reversing wheel etc. A true 1:1 clone movement?
  10. Some new Rolex watches are advertised with this a new 2836 SuperClone movement.... What the heck is it?? Klick To me it's a regular Swiss 2836.. or is it? Did they alter the tell signs e.g. the shock absorber? Interesting
  11. Stick a needle in the valve (not the ball). It has a rubber seal, just pierce it.
  12. You need as little direct light as possible. Direct Spotlight, sun light, desk light etc. are killing. You need light that is dispersed.
  13. Ah ok. You got more chance emailing one of the dealers directly. I was always taken care of when I needed parts as I'm very loyal to my dealer. You could give it a try.
  14. Bummer! You know where, where did you buy the watch...
  15. Let's put this thread to rest. You can't do a dialog on movements with someone that has the IQ of a retard. This really is sad. Like talking to a turtle or something...
  16. You probably did a poor assembly
  17. It's almost impossible to over wind an 6497... unless you're King Kong. No worry, just wind until you can wind no more!
  18. Thanks for the info. I think you are right. Both versions are not engraved but one is superior to the other imo. The best version can be spotted through the serial I think: 507029 as all the pics I've seen of these 'ultimate' movements (whether from Sead or Kurvasit) carry this number.
  19. IMO the movements in the H factory pams look like sh*t. Especially the Cotes de Geneve. The Kuvarsit movement looks much much better and does not appear to be the same that is in the H-factory/Noob watches. I was told in confidence that the Platinum plated movement from Kuvarsit is a independent project of set dealer. H-factory (or Noob, don't remember) is working on an ultimate 1:1. It could therefore very well be that all the H-factory and Noob are only plating their own movements (with printing and poor CDG) to compete with this ultimate Kuvarsit movement. Just until they can release their own ultimate movement? I read the entire article and imo there is still no clear answer whether there are multiple platinum plated 6497s versions. I think there are! Both movements are definitely not the same. [1] The Kuvarsit: High-beat, engraved OP, Nice CDG. Best available at the moment.... [2] The H-factory/Noob (all dealers): Using the old slow-beat movement which came in the early 177L, upgraded dagger, platinum plated, printed OP and poor CDG. Just my 0.002 Kuvarsit: H-factory/Noob:
  20. Is it correct there are 2 versions of the platinum plated 6497 out there? Most 'new' movements in the H-factory watches (177, 176 etc.) look like the old movement but with upgraded dagger. It has the same CDG, crappy OP printing, large winding gear bevel, etc. I know there is a better platinum plated movement out there with better CDG, engraved OP and smaller bevel on the winding gears. I'm not sure which models carry these (Noob factory?) and what the BPH are. Can someone point out the differences and which version carries which movement?
