  1. You can picke up a nice set of hallmraked silver cufflinks for the price you want to pay for each man - bonus would be to have their initials engraved - makes it a personal present that way. Good Luck. Peace
  2. Just to add, my old noobmariner - ( one of the first batch of good Noobs has this on the serial ) Sames as below but with 16610 LV In fact this is my actual 1st edition Noob the day after I got it, have things gone that bad since..
  3. lol and welcome to the board. The first reply you had to your question was the best. Peace
  4. I wasn't laughing at this point........ honest.... Great story
  5. hahaahha - ok confession One on the left i actually bought in Bulgaria 94' can't remember how much I paid, prob around 15USD, one on the right someone gave to me the same year. Soon after coming back, left in a box to rot and before I threw them a few years back, decided to scan the horrors first.... I think I've found the light since.. lol
  6. errrrrm some of you may have seen these horrors on RWG1 . I just found the pics again, watches have long since been binned.. Eastern europe 1994. - enough said really.
  7. In 2005, The Zigmeister was sent round the twist for staring at too many 7750 movements. He was sent to turn off his PM's by the RWG members court so he didn't over commit. The Zigmeister promptly escaped from the maximum PM security stockade to the Canadian underground. Today, still wanted by RWG members, he survives as a soldier of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... The ZigmeisterZumba > Cue music <
  8. This w/e IWC BP 5004 on schuhren Pilot/Nato strap < thx Pix
  9. sssssshhhh - just don't tell the wife Good tip - thx Peace
  10. I have had this before ( few years back ) on volume payments coming through - I did 5k in shy of 30 days in and out - t's to do with money laundering laws, it's just there way of legally protecting all parties - them, yourself as any normal bank would do - in my case, they wanted copy of passport, driving licence. No major thing if you are happy to continue with them, they will ask for that detail.
  11. Jit 1 - Customs Man 0 Small watchmakers screwdrivers set is an invaluable tool for you now - Cheap and a must for any new collector - a tip is on any watch you get through, just double check all casing, pin and link screws are tight ( do not overtighten them ). - All UK 'cheap shops' will have these in the diy section The links on your watch will be 1.4mm flathead screws - easy peasy. Things can get unsettled during transport pics, pics, pics Peace.
  12. Omni - Thank you for the heads up on those threads. Nothing but a huge blag then, lol. I remember him first coming onto the boards lol, what was it... " I'm 20 odd, have a 50k Patek and blah, blah, blah " How to win friends and influence people lol.
  13. Easy fix on this is simply wear the watch upside down - solved. ! ( EDIT ) ah - just noticed you was not in Oz, St Louis that won't work. Hopefully the AD can solve it.
  14. Sorry, what I meant - Tha oldtimers from RWG.com - too much coffee
  15. Excellent - Sit back enjoy the day, pour yourself a cool glass of beer in the evening. When you have the watch, post those wrist shots Welcome to RWG . No lookin' back and fun all the way Peace
  16. uh ohhh... I can see a can 'o' worms being brewed... hahaha
  17. Hi Jit. As per above really, time and paience is a virture - too add to the above, if not delivered to you in 10 days from now, then have a discussion with Josh. Mr. Customs man will then have himself a nice Noobmariner Peace
  18. ok, ok, this has gone around a hundred times and is now a folklore from back in the day. Now whilst I remember the beginings of Jetmid coming onto the board with his $50k Patek and jetplane lifestyle - ( he was a porter/ attendant right ? ) - ( he was given this watch ??? - well those two as memory serves me ).. He got a right batting coming onto the rep board saying he had it and I also remember him ( after a long time of waffling ) producing pics, which for some reason I'm led to believe from the discussions at the time that maybe the sucker on his wrist was a gen... Life went on and I know about all the other things that were happening on that board but I missed the Jetmid outcome, was it all true or just a huge blag ? So can anyone bring me up to speed or is it a case of leaving sleeping dogs lie.. Peace.
  19. For those in the UK - A heads up: F.Hinds the jewelers -
  20. Been reading this, do we actually think that the watches are still in his posession ? This is a tale of woe indeed, x-fingers he can be traced and all get their items back - if you get a PI what legalities does he have on getting the items back ? Think this needs a bit more of a balacava, wooden stick process. Don't understand why this has gone on so long ? well my thoughts anyway. Peace
  21. Pumpkin, I have pretty much done the same as you. I was around back in in the day< lol < and stuck my head again back onto the board over the last few weeks - a lot has changed indeed. I hasten it seems for the better. Just get ready to have that 'empty the wallet' feeling lol. I've decided IWC to be my brand for 09' most other watches seem to tiny for my wrist size and these suckers are the way to go. Welcome back anyway - enjoi the stay. Peace
  22. Sun is out - snow is going, gone - All Posties are out, life is good - lets all run thru the meadows holding hands and sniffing flowers Peace
  23. Just a heads up to all - Due to the inclement weather conditions in the UK not many postal deliveries / collections are taking place - I'm presuming this will go on for the next couple of days. Just to bear in mind if anyway waiting for something or needing to send Peace
