  1. Whatever the problem may be, it is all still too much to deal with. How can someone just blast away and kill others at such a young age. This world we are living in is so f'd up! Makes me sick to see these stories. And who really knows why or where kids get these ideas, wherever they do it aint good!

Tell you what. Let's all take the VIP RWG Time Travel machine to, oh, I don't know, England circa 600 AD.

    Be prepared to:

    - Have your first born child sacrificed to get a better harvest

    - Die at the ripe old age of 21 (if you are one of the lucky ones to have survived childhood diseases. You had a 1 in 15 chance)

    - Be at the beck and call of the local lords and ladies, including giving any of your children into their service, at their discretion

    - If you're a woman, having a fantastic great chance of dying in childbirth, something you will undergo on average 6 times in your life

    - If you're a man, have a fantastic chance of dying in endless wars

    - Have no right to any of the freedoms we have guaranteed us

    - And generally stink, smell, reek since people only took a full bath once or twice in their lifetimes (usually for their wedding)

Did I mention the endless horse plop you have to dodge? No? Ah, well.

Yeah, I love the past. Take me back to 600 AD!! I especially want to go back as a peasant. That rocked!

  2. Only from an American

    I'm British.

Kid gets ahold of gun, kills 7 people, but don't even think to question the availability of guns as the problem!

Just once I'd like someone to mention that young boys need to be targetted for mental instability issues by their parents and schools, and for overuse of violent video games, because they are the ones who commit these crimes.

Young girls have access to guns too. Do we do this? No. It's not guns. It's mentality followed closely by behaviour.

  3. I've seen people alter Pope Benedict's and Lady Thatcher's entries, but this it the first time I've seen them jimmy with Hillary Clinton's Wikipedia entry.

Don't see it? Let's just say that she's been around celebrating Halloweens for a good long while.

(My mum is a fellow Scorpio, and asked me to re-check her DOB...)

EDIT: And it's Hitlary, not hiltery. God get it right, you morons!

  4. Ummm...any other RWG supporters with this problem? I can't find any errors with your account, so the edit button should be t the bottom right (below the vote-icons) like it always have been.

Mine is there, thank God. English may be my native language, Sssurfer, so I have no excuse for my poor spelling/grammar. :p

Did you perhaps try to edit the wrong post? (don't laugh, that once happened to me!)

  5. Thanks, gents. B)

Eddieplatt, this is how post from China goes:

    Arriving in 5-10 Days:

  6. 2008????? ...am i missing something? I thought it was still 2007

Hello, Yellomen? Who doesn't know that next year's models come out in September? ;)

Best time to buy a "car of the year" is around NOW.

@Everythingape: Yipes, steep prices...my Canadian boyfriend is coming down to the US, to buy a car down here. It's about $15,000 cheaper than buying the same in Canada. "Free" health care comes with a price, people...

EDIT: Wow! Is this right? The same car you mention, Ape, for U$70,000?

  7. I think all Saab mechanics eventually retire to Vermont, to be with "their people".

Yep. Steve was a long-haired hippie, who usually rode around on a hog with his hippie-chick wife and naked blond toddler son. You'd never know by looking at his skinny, po' white trash frame that he was a multi-millionaire...

Subaru mechanics fade away to New Hampshire :cold:

Why would anyone want to end their days in New Hampshire and Vermont, after having lived out their youth in Florida?

What, we don't have apples here?? :p

  8. Snap my wife has the gen too!

I have a photo of my younger dad, bent over his microscope, wearing a lab coat, and though he doesn't remember which watch it was, he tells me the watch he's wearing is an Omega. I like to think it's the Aqua Terra on black leather band!

    Looks very late 1960s. :)

Funny that Mrs. Andy would have one too!

  9. I have the same one,

Dad has the gen. In fact, I do believe that was one of the first watches he ever bought for himself.

Omega is a SOLID marque, Tazzman. You chose very well. :tu:

im sure your freind will be very happy and know who his good freinds are!

    RWG'ers are the best. :)

EDIT: Tazzman, you MAY want to invest just a little more in a better leather band, for your friend. The one in the photo isn't THAT bad, but rep watch bands as you know, are just awful.

    http://www.internationalwatchman.com/exotic.html

Not sure they do international sales, but for those prices, you CANNOT beat that quality of croc, gator, etc leathers.

EDIT #2: Tazzman, make SURE you tell Joshua that that is the strap you want (I noticed just now it's a deployant).

My mum ordered a watch from him, specifying the colour of the strap, with deployant, etc. but still the wrong colour and tang buckle one arrived.

Don't worry, he makes it up to you immediately -- but just to make sure there are no disappointments on your end, and for your friend. :)

  10. Ola, neighbour! Haven't seen you around for yoiks! As for the welder, I was already planning my "Just don't ask Notasolder." :p

Had no idea this was a watch. First thoughts...bad rip off of a Graham. And we all know how much I appreciate them!

This one at least doesn't commit the heinous sin of looking like Marty Feldman's redheaded stepchild.

    €420,00 though? Eh, why not!

  11. DBR, me too!

Oh we're too awful. I bet you Harley there is just a wee lad of 16-20, who can't even properly shave yet! Cut him some slack!!

Because if he's a 40 year-old man who trolls rep watch forums posting pics of his "gens", and ISN'T doing it for fun, well, I just hope he enjoys his other collection as much.

  12. Fresh wristie, from Sunny 80F (cuando no?) Cloudless South Florida. :)

Guys, allow me to briefly address the question of photos.

I love taking photos of myself. But I actually stopped posting (regularly) over at RWI because every time I opened my Inbox, it was a creepfest of "You're hot! I want to see your face!!" request for photos of myself.

Recently, uncharacteristically, I've noticed an increase of such requests at august, sophisticated RWG.

Being sometimes the lone woman on a forum gets you lovely compliments, and I enjoy and appreciate every one. Never stop, because I try to return whenever I can in kind. :)

But take what the lady gives you. You have my wrists, my fingers, my arms, even my feet. My boyfriend has the rest. Capiche? Thanks guys.

P.S.: He's a VIP member here, and in fact, this is the only thread he checks out regularly. He loves my Wristies. ;)

  13. Well firstly, I must admit I don't really read the Wristies (although I did see your latest OCD symptom the Superleggera J12)

Yeah, a lot of people here don't "read" that thread. Odd because surely it's one of the best.

I personally put in a lot of effort in making them creative and worthwhile. :)

but there's also the possibility that I couldn't tell one of your samey-yet beloved 111Hs from a 111G or a 112 or a gen of any of those 'base' type models at a quick glance :p

Ahh, no. No gen PAMs yet. My snuck-in gens are usually lady watches. :p

  14. Vic, I've seen this photo before in the thread you are talking about but even me i cannot recognise many of the straps from this photo.. I can though find out some of them and i am very impressed with myself :p

    Thanks, V! :)

That was at the very beginning, as I said. No Simonas, no OEMs, no Strapmasters, no Dirks. I added another PAV 91 for the Fiddy, which wasn't shown in the "rollcall" either.

Bad vibes? I read what you said in the 'Strap are we done' thread but cannot find the link of the other thread judging you...

It's called Strapitis, and it created a bad buzz not only in that thread, but spilled over in others. Anyway...

Anyway.. I was quantity vs quality when i entered this hobby.. after some time you realise that as Ubi says quality is better than quantity ;)

I'm still queen of the cheapies, both in watches and straps. Got two great Europelli straps this weekend for less $60. Each costs well over $130, when new.

I never buy anything rated less than 95%, so I think I made out well there. :)
