Because Admin was supposed to do an IP sweep soon? For the record, as I mentioned my boyfriend directed me to this forum when I started to collect rep watches. He's not even a watch person, but he's Google King, and always in the know about the latest cool site. So the first two times, I used his login. In fact, on RWG.COM, we were on simultaneously one day! (How is this possible? Shouldn't there be a stop-guard to prevent that?). Next day after that, I registered, and the rest as they say, is torture -- for you all!

Ever since I started reading this forum, and seeing all those wonderful guns next to people's watches, I have wanted to get my dad to oil his handguns for me, and let me take a couple to the pistol range. There's one near Homestead here where you pay $5 entry and can shoot as many rounds as you want, all day long, if you can. The problem is...which watch would not make me look like a butch lesbian police officer practising her marksmanship? I love my PAMs, but you know, even with the red nails there's a limit. And which could take a beating? I hit the search button on two forums, and realised, hmm, better not. Even with my gens. So I uncovered an old Swiss Army watch which used to be my golf beater, and which has a D-link preppy pink-green strap similar to the one I once saw President Bush Sr. wear on a golf course, and will use that there. Maybe pics to follow!

Hey V! Just to let you know that in two posts, I told the guys here you were away on a project, and wouldn't be around for 5-6 weeks. Didn't say what it was, out of discretion. And you know, I didn't even check the envelope in which you sent me the strap. I presumed it was Greece, but you say you're in a new country, hmm. Interesting. Good luck!

Good deal, Lanikai & FxrAndy. Will do just as you guys say. However, now I have a question. My Metta Catherina arrived a little the worse for wear. Oh, she's beautiful, but needs some buffing to bring out her natural sheen. I want her to look like this: Question: What do you recommend? Same as above? Remember, she's 200 years old, so we need to treat her nicely.

Dammit, Neil! Where's my Kermit LV?? I ordered that two weeks ago. Put down those Ray-Bans and get cracking, or or, or else!

He's on RWI, full-time. I believe these pro-am strapmakers don't come here because they have to pay the VIP upgrade to advertise? Not sure, so please forgive me if that's speaking out of turn. Anyway, I have the exact same strap...on the exact same watch, now! It looks magnificent. Just have to say though, that whilst I really liked the 217h I got, the FIDDY spoke to me, and that's pulling it out of its packaging all cracked and everything. I'll get one, yet, you'll see. The Fiddy is magic.

UPDATE: August 2, 2007: THE BRACELET VERSION IS HERE! http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...yword=TAG0020SW Posted this on RWI, too. But though we have a lot of the same members, it seems there are a lot more enthusiastic Tag Heuer aficionados here. So...thoughts? Close, bad, how is the copy? Should I wait for an uAquaracer version?

Same here, The Zigmeister. By the way, guys, I hope all you Paneristi have your straps and everything you need from your fave Italian outlets, because Italy (Europe, really) closes down in August, as you know! Ferragosto, baby!

V, I know you're busy, but when you get back THANK YOU for these instructional videos. Just now, having received my Radios in the post, I am trying to fit nicer straps on them, and what a PAIN those little lug screws are, losing them every 5 minutes on the floor. I have spent 30 minutes on my hands and knees doing what I can only imagine is called the "Radiomir owner dance". I always wondered why Radiomirs weren't as popular as Luminor, and oh brother, can I see why now. Strap changing is the best thing about owning a PAM, but if I never change a Radiomir strap again, boy...
-
That reminds me of a thread I read recently, by an Italian chap who owned hundreds of straps. He rated 4 leather conditioner brands, and I believe he did mention the Bentley one. The one he rated tops was one which waterproofs a strap, so I don't much like that, because the patina is different on the waterproofed ones. This is why I haven't bought Elliot's PAV 98, yet. THAT sounds GOOD, lanikai. Now, I have wax for my legs, will that do I wonder? Somewhere I do have one of those secret Santa gifts I got, which was a Homedics paraffin wax machine. Let me have a rummage around my home... Thanks for the encouragement guys! As Laz said, it really helps to have people to turn to.

P.S.: Yeah, they had a strange sense of fun back then. But their workplaces sure looked a HECK of a lot better than ours today: I think she got the promotion. She threatened to poke her boss' eyes out with her torpedos.

Heh, I know. Well, I didn't know it was Richard. I was just making wit de jokes. Very nice! I still think I prefer Crazysalesman, though.

Thanks, darling...but the Sony digicam is doing half the work. It looks much better in the pics, than in real life, believe me. AND THE SMELL we won't even talk of. Navi was right. Mmm. Don't know I would ever do that with a pricey Manifatture Firenze strap since this cost me only €16, but I THINK I'LL TRY IT. At this point, what do I have to lose but the smell of a dry cleaners on my wrist...thanks!

Whoops!, for a second, I thought you were this guy again with the B.A. watch. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8274/pamcna1.jpg

Did I say "looker"? Sorry, I meant "hooker" because she sucks. Oh, the strap looks half-way decent in non-ambient light, with flash, and that Chinese Emperor yellow jewelry pouch underneath. Bertolucci would've been proud! But check her out in the cruel daylight mocking me, saying "HAHA" and meaning it, too. Looks nothing like Navigater's luscious self-modded strap (the very same strap. He kindly gave me the link and instructions of where to get it in Germany and what to do with the bleach). Dang. Like FxrAndy, I just learnt an important lesson. Maybe paying $199 for a strap is crazy. But making straps look as good as professionals ain't easy, so whose laughing now? Anyone want to buy a $150 strap?

Hey! Where did your refrigerator go? P.S.: Actually, I wil return to this thread with more comments, but this part is important: CONGRATULATIONS HOOCHMAN! May mother and child be in fine shape by now, and breathing the wonderful Oxygen of Planet Earth.

I was teasing one of our dear collectors the other day, about being at his computer seemingly 24/7, telling him to go out and enjoy life with his girlfriend, etc. He wrote back, "Vic, when do I have time for women, lol.". Those poor guys, man, and we thought we had it hard. Well some of us do...but they get emails.

Another medical doctor in da house? (Not to imply that I am one. I do know we have at least one here though) Deltatahoe, I am notoriously late wherever I go, which drives both my hyper-punctual parents insane. But since starting rep collecting, I've been planning my wardrobe/strap changes overnight. As I told another member, I change 2 or sometimes 3 times per day, and OBVIOUSLY, I don't repeat my watch since each outfit is a different mood altogether...can I get a what-what from the congregation! So, what I've been doing is changing the straps just before going to bed at night, having chosen what I will wear for the week and separated the clothes in the closet, every Sunday night (I did say I was half-German, hence methodical, organised, anal, but sadly not punctual). There are some watches that I keep on their now-designated strap (118/PAV 91), but though I have LOTS of straps -- over 30 -- I am due to get over 20 more...I too do not have a winder, but the strap changing comes in handy because then I just wind all my watches at the same time. Doesn't take me but 5 minutes to do that. Once a week, I Cape Cod and buff them, as well. Unlike you then, my watches are never "dead". But like you, I'm totally doollally.

I used no gloves, and consequently, need to change my nail polish! Well, it was time. Even I am tired of my red nails. Yeah, it already smells awfully. But I could always wipe it with some leather conditioner. I'll keep tinkering with it, and maybe leave it out in the sun for a while. You've been talking to my friends, haven't you?! They like the orange too better, on me.

Your shot of the package is the one which gave me the idea to post this, Navi. Speaking of crazy! And creeps! Navi, I received that strap from the German strap site you directed me to, and proceeded to bleach it last night. I did as you said, dab instead of immerse in bleach -- so far, it looks NOTHING like your beautiful distressed strap. What kind of industrial-strength bleach do you guys have in Belgium?? Don't forget to check out the Midweek Wrist-check, too! @Cornerstone: That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me, on RWG! And instinctively, I know you're right. Thank you!

Did someone mention pussycats? :cc_chinese: WEDNESDAY My new PAM Purdey Lion in all its glory! Beautiful watch, and more than I expected. Seen here on my favourite GeF black strap. A close-up of the PAM 152* Lion's head. I'll be posting in detail on this gorgeous watch, so just a sneak peak for now. I changed the strap to a lovely black "OEM" one. Scare quotes because I got it too cheaply to be an OEM, although the markings and the plastic "Made in Austria" are all correct. Hmm. THURSDAY My equally new and may I say, surprisingly wonderful Planet Ocean (42.5mm), bought from the sweetest guy, Navigater. Didn't think I would like it, but on the contrary, it's my new beater! *There seems to be some confusion all around, about the model of the Purdey Lion. Some say it's the PAM 152 (Rolli concurs). But on ViaPaneristi, and other places, they have it down as the PAM 154. The Purdey series was of course, a very select run of 100 watches. And I have one of them! Yeah right. @Cats: Wow. My fave so far, and the thread is already a good one! Love the b-2-b SMPs.

What is the most stunning REP in your opinion
Victoria replied to Diablo99's topic in General Discussion
I just laugh these days. The Davidsen Fiddy is largely thought to be the dog's barkers. If you can wear a Breitling, you can wear a Fiddy. -
HEY! Only I'm allowed to say things like that! When a woman does it, it's hot. When a man does it, he's a creep. I don't make the rules, sir, I just enforce them. I know, I know. On the plus side, there's a Member trade section. So my perfidious strap collecting may be someone's gain, soon...
