  1. If the combo sucks, that strap will sell for near full price anyhow. I like #1. It reminds me of a Crazy Horse.
  2. But, but, but he's taking HGH. He's invincible!
  3. Let's see it Moi Babes!!
  4. I just have to post this one on kruzer's behalf... It's his watch and yet another The Zigmeister masterpiece... This thread had me thinking about it immediately, and wondering why I'm STILL missing the vintage boat.
  5. Run 3 is already at the coater. Run 4 is filled and is a single sided run. Run 5 is on the horizon due to popular demand... Maybe a few weeks.
  6. Now that's the spirit... Somehow I knew gen parts would lure you in!!
  7. Nice, Warren!!
  8. I'd be interested in a couple. However I have the following concern... I've already shaved my CG levers for Palp crowns and with the recess being deeper on the gen crown, I suspect that my shaved levers will now be too short to make contact with the crown. I'd suspect many people are in this boat.
  9. C series only... http://www.paneristi.com/reference/vendome/gmt.html
  10. I'm sure of the following: 111H, 196 - single. 063 - no AR.
  11. Top notch stuff, avitt. Posts like this are the reason this is the #1 rep board on the planet. Great nasty thumb, too! LOL
  12. I'd say it's worth $35. It looks like an older gen to me.
  13. This isn't necessarily a recipe for success, but you could probably do it. I'd make a jig that both clamped the watch and provided a large, flat surface area upon which you could rest the drill attachment. I'd also use a clamp to hold the drill in place once you line up the hole with the bit.
  14. Date alignment in dealer pictures should never be a deciding factor. Go with the dealer you trust, and if there is an issue with the received watch rest assured the dealer will take care of you.
  15. It's not just The Zigmeister who has had run-ins with Bob. There are numerous stories. He's flipped out on me once. I think, as one member once put it, Bob Frei is somewhat deranged.....
  16. Interesting stuff, Rob!! Thanks again.
  17. There isn't for the durable coating due to the extreme temperatures. The steel rails expand and contract at different rate than the crystals, so if you don't have a lip or if you just clamp at the edges, the crystals would come lose and break. If you read my Reference thread, you'll see it all explained including how it's done for gen crystals and why that's not feasible for us. The only other option would be to use a different coating entirely, which wouldn't be nearly as durable and not at all comparable to that found on gen watches. Not my cup of tea.
  18. Mineral spirit is a mild solvent. You can also get "odorless" mineral spirits which are less toxic, but nevertheless still good to keep off your skin and avoid inhaling or (gasp) ingesting. Available in the paint section of Home Depot and other places.
  19. Yea, the lip marks. Someone PM'ed me on this; maybe it was you. I don't remember. Anyhow I think you'd agree that they're only noticeable under certain lighting conditions and at certain angles. Looking at all of Flav's pics, I think I only saw a lip mark in maybe one or two. I don't mind them, personally. At first, I found myself trying to find them everytime I looked at the watch. But after a few days, that obsession wore off and they rarely catch my eye now. Unfortunately they can not be avoided (as described in the AR Reference thread linked in my signature). Long story short, for this type of durable coating the crystals must be fixtured inside the chamber with rails that have these small lips. For lesser coatings, double stick tape can be used in lieu of the rails, and then there are no lip marks. This will be the case for my single sided run. But then you won't get the durability - not even close to what we're getting. For single sided this won't matter because it won't be exposed to the elements. But for a double sided coating, nothing less than my ultra durable coating will do. Further, there is no option to recoat the lip marks without masking off the previously coated areas. And there are too many issues associated with that, not the least of which would be cost.
  20. I'll see what I can do.... Thanks for your interest.
  21. I'll second that. Love mine. And the white/silver dial is a nice change from the usual black dials that seem to dominate our watches for the most part. Here's mine with cross mod, double AR, The Zigmeister dial and hands lume job, and Flavor Flav bracelet mods.
  22. Ooooer!!! I am committing several of the seven deadly sins lusting over that piece............ Zig, be sure to jot down some notes on this one so you can replicate the look for me!
  23. I've got to say... The white dial VC Overseas is probably my favorite watch to double AR.... Speaking of which, it needs some wrist time.
