@Neb - We'll be a couple weeks out on this run for sure. The Fiddy should be fine. I'm already holding one Fiddy for deltatahoe. And, come to think of it, there have got to be a ton of Fiddys without AR out there since the Fiddy was such hot s.h.i.t. for a long while... I'll put you down for two, and I'm going to go ahead and close this up pretty soon....
OK I thought I was only holding two for you, but now I remember the 196, 188 and Panda. I have a feeling this might be the only single sided run, at least for a long while, so I'll put you down for 6.
@Bignasty - no problem. Also, I've stripped a few replica AR coats myself now, and it has been easy to do as long as the crystal is sapphire or mineral and won't scratch easily.
@SenileCoot - Ingenieur is double sided.
PAM 111... Pretty much anything that is an F or later serial Panerai, really. Although there are several 187 (I think) crystals that have gone through the double sided process, so I'm not sure on those. I know there are others too. Some Omegas for example.
I've gone to town with Cape Cod. If you're hand rubbing (i.e. not using a dremel), you're not going to accidentally put a mirror finish on a brushed piece with Cape Cod. And even if you did, 4/0 steel wool is your friend.
Most rep bracelets come with insufficient sheen (yes, even the brushed bracelets) compared to their genuine counterparts, so a light polish is generally what's needed. Argh? Nah. Minor inconvenience at best.
Nice, TTK. One thing I like about the original Ingenieur is the textured dial vs. the smooth dial on this one. However, I do like the additional 2, 4, 8, 10 numerals on this dial as opposed to the stick markers on the original, and the red seconds hand is quite nice also. A very versatile piece indeed, especially with the nylon band. Not one I see floating around the rep boards with much frequency (a plus IMO).
I have used it on my submariner bracelets and it works fine. Cape Cod is a light polish and would take a lot of time and elbow grease to turn a brushed sub bracelet into a mirror finish. The sub bracelets always need a thorough cleaning too. The cleaning goes almost as far as the polishing. And, some bracelets don't need any Cape Cod work at all, such as the Ingenieur.
Until there are accurate H and up CGs, the 177, 111, et. al. will be lacking accuracy. The sandwich dial of the 111 and 177 still leaves something to be desired as well.
Yea, the black ceramic bezel version with CF dial has my name written ALL over it. But $600 for a A-7750 watch just doesn't work for me.... Here's to hoping for a price reduction.
