  1. Mark, I'll take one set. Thanks.
  2. Doesn't work as well and can potentially cause problems.
  3. OK, here is my attempt at photographing the AR coat sample. There are some variables here. First off the round crystal is an uncoated submariner sapphire crystal. The square glass is non-sapphire and coated with the bluish/puplish AR film. So the two substrates have different refraction indicies, but I think it's close enough to see what we're dealing with. Also let me state that the AR coating does not provide a lot of assistance with direct light sources. It does do a good job with ambient reflections. I can't look at the AR coated piece and see the other side of the room in it, like I can in my uncoated watch crystals for example. On to the pics... In this picture you can see the very subtle tint on the AR piece. You can also see that major glare will never be eliminated, but it is subdued somewhat compared to the non-coated crystal: Now, in this picture you can see that regular ambient glare is reflected off the uncoated crystal but not off the coated one: And here is another glare comparison between coated and uncoated.
  4. Well, the nice thing (from a modder's standpoint) is that Noobmariner movements seem to crap out often so you can have pretty good luck finding a used broken Noobmariner for around $40. That'll get you the dial, the bracelet, and the overlay. I've acquired two this way. Plus I just picked up another bracelet. I'm not sure why, but the price was right.
  5. PAM 196 (7753 old case) with superlume (The Zigmeister) and palp crown installed. Someday will have a Finepics datewheel and AR as well. Vacheron Constantin Overseas with superlume and cross transplant (both The Zigmeister). Will add AR. Currently having technical difficulties with the bracelet, but I think I've located the necessary screws to have this thing back on my wrist soon... Currently in the pipe: Rolex P serial 16610 (Older TW Best Classic) franken... TWG Dial superlumed, TWG date wheel overlay, TWG bracelet, genuine 16800-81 bezel insert, genuine crown and tube, CGs shaped, lug holes and bracelet drilled, gen springbars installed. Breitling Seawolf Avenger Ti... gen dial, maybe gen bracelet, AR. IWC Ingenieur... superlumed dial, Lello datewheel (hopefully), unchipped bezel ring (waiting to arrive), AR. Omega Seamaster 2255.80... gen hands, gen dial, hopefully a new crystal with AR. About to purchase: PAM 063 2892 GMT... already superlumed and has Watchmeisters' 6mm cyclops installed. Will get another Palp crown and a Jimmy Fu CG. Further down the line: Rolex 1665 white seadweller... Watchmeisters datewheel, Ubi vintage bezel insert, T39, lug holes drilled, etc.
  6. On which watch? You can see that Ubi's MBW 1665 mates well with the gen bracelet. I'd keep the bracelet and get a watch that work with it. Or, you could always sell it to me at a great price.
  7. I don't think it will work. Luckily, though, we have the Noobmariner date wheel overlay which will work, and is an excellent match to the 3135 print.
  8. Not a bad looking watch at all. Great picture, too.
  9. By the way, what a looker the blue dial Steelfish SuperOcean is....
  10. @ By-Tor : Yea, I love the massiveness of the Seawolf, and the titanium makes it easily the lightest watch I own. The SuperOcean has a much lower profile....
  11. Was fortunate to get the last of the last of these pieces from King. Genuine dial on the way. (Note to self: blow the dust of the watches before photographing next time)
  12. You can secure it to the spacer ring with a slow setting epoxy.
  13. It's a good thing you didn't sell the parts and saw the project through to completion, because it turned out fantastic! I love the datejust with smooth bezel and brushed oyster bracelet. The dial is very simple and classy in silver with the stick markers. Just how I like it! Very, very nice. Enjoy.
  14. Please refer to the top of the thread for the details. Mag depends on distance from the date window. Rest assured, though, it will be much stronger than the rep cyclops. As an FYI, I didn't have a chance to contact the manufacturer this week. So the project won't get its official start until next week. And as a second FYI, the price per piece will most likely be slightly lower than originally estimated. Lastly, don't forget the production time is going to be 1-2 months.
  15. I'm in for 1 wheel.
  16. The AR seems quite good. Very nice!
  17. Silix doesn't have the best sub.
  18. Mmm. Very tasty.
  19. A Davidsen?
  20. She's a looker, no doubt. I have some questions about the dial details. But either way, I'll keep my reliable Eta-based version and pass on this Asian-based chrono version. If that Lello Ingy datewheel ever comes to be, all the better.
  21. I wonder if you could get the job done with this thing? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=91621
  22. Wow that thing is squeaky clean!
