Grid pattern is wrong for this model. However this is only a problem on the Blue Dial. The Black Dial has dots. Josh has been able to get me replacement straps for an AP.

My local jeweller adjusted my AP strap that kept popping open with no problem.

I bought an Audemars from him a few months ago. The display model on the website had the same problem. I brought it to his attention. So he is aware that this could very well happen, as it has happened to him.

It was nice of Rolex to supply a free watch. But it was the watch from hell, in constant need of repair.

One thing that bothers me is the lack of panache associated with the brand Ebel. In 1988 I purchased an 18K Ebel 1911 for $9,600. The other watch I was looking at was the Patek Ellipse at $6,000. Now the same Ellipse retails for $17,000 while Ebels can be had at up to 70% off on overstock.com. What happened? Ebel used to manufacture watches for Cartier that seem to have no problem holding their value.

Ah. It's just an OK place really. You would be surprised at how many people will tell you to "go search" for something they know the answer to. So if you want a watch right now today, that is not likely to happen. I wish that when I arrived I was supplied with all the collector e-mail and websites. I think that approach would encourage more people to join. "Go search" is like sending your six year old to school and saying, "Here are the books, go learn" with out a teacher present to guide you. I recently spent days helping a newbie buy some watches. I responded to over 20 E-mails from him from everything form watches to lost password recovery problem with the websites. I enjoyed every minute of it! Welcome!

@ swissaddict Well it is a better rep for $108 than some of my more expensive reps. Anytime someone has to actually take it off the wrist to see if it is a rep is 1:1 close enough for me. If fact, when I got it repared (the end link was misaligned) the day I went to pick it up I asked the clerk if my "Rolex" was ready. The watch was so close that I don't even think of it as a rep.
