    Rare!

They look sharp I would be interested in either of the yellowish pieces. as is...I can swap in a new eta if you dont feel up to it ... yah I cant believe that that brutal explorer actually got bid up there is no way its gotta be rigged by other accounts to bump it...its not even close to even passable at ten feet. lol

@automatico do your other two have the same dial and hands as the one you pictured here? Ever consider parting with one? I took a look at what else he is selling and he has this one listed for 1900.00 Yuckj!! whos buying this stuff seriously...
  4. No a parts seller on instagram (whos name escapes me - I think tick tok watches ) posted this dial for sale and stated that it was refinished. It does look accurate but seeing the dial itself the "burn marks" look pretty obviously done with an air brush. in two strokes... by the time I contacted him about it it was sold I told him to reach out if he "finds more" Further thoughts on the Albino.: There seems to be an abundance of 6610 albinos popping up recently. real , fake , franken..who knows..but realistically speaking I can see the 6610 albino existing but I think every 1016 is a fake. why? because if rolex was in the product development stages to see if this dial color would work as an option to the product line. they made a few , tested them , tested the pad printer....and then didn't proceed why? too hard to read? white dial and white lume with silver hands. Wearing my aged albino with contrasting lume markers. its still tricky to read under certain light conditions so if the consensus was that it was not functional and dropped it. why would they revisit the idea in the 1016? its not like anything changed . So I think the 6610s were potentially a genuine attempt at creating another dial option but the 1016 was a pad print test only. damn dude...pizza stain tell me how you really feel about it LMAO So that was 5 months or so ago and as time passed I felt that I went a bit overboard on the ageing. , on the wrist it looked good however when you get it close it just didn't have the believable look that I Was after So I pulled it apart and removed the radium burns using some iso propel and foolishly didn't dilute it and it removed some of the print on the dial . D"UH!! At first I was [censored] because the print on these dials is soo crisp and clean that it was a shame to damage it. but how it did end up damage does look like legit wear and age. Not all is lost I aged the white dial to an attractive ivory tone with some dry detail brushes from tamiya and this is what you get. a prototype build that looks old and worn but not abused. The story of the albino explorers is that blank dials were used to test the print pad and then were meant to be destroyed but somehow a few missed the bin and ended up in the world and now fetch a premium. The appearance I settled on was one of a dial that had a poor pad print and then was kicking around a watchmakers parts bins for a few decades until it was dug up and used. I got the urge to mess with it the other day , thinking that I would put it back together and sell it on but damn...I really like this thing right now....so its not for sale yet...but perhaps one day
  5. Sure. Both are: raffles 34mm cases Ar 294 domed crystal raffles ranger dial custom decal print dial - rose raffles time hands set silix bracelet on 90220 hand made rivet bracelet on 7995 clone eta 2824 movements.
  6. With all the hype around the new ranger this year...You have to look back and appreciate the linage and where it comes from. Nearly identical build lists. The rose dial is from @manodeoro The shield dial is from Raffles. IF you are going to collect one of the "most faked models " from Tudor., you might as well have some really good fakes.

    well done , looks great!!
  8. Decided to add a ranger dial to my last order with Raffles the other day and it arrived this week. I wanted to compare it to the Yuki option . The raffles dial has dial feel for two movements eta and DG I used an eta movement for this project Overall first impression. I like it.!! Most accurate dial to date for the 90220 The numerals are appropriate in size. larger than explorer numerals not 100%accurate but the closest ive seen . crisp printing Shield is accurate in shape and size as is the rest of the text. the RANGER text does appear a shade too small to me but it could be just my eyes playing tricks. The finish of the dial is where it gets interesting. My phone has a hard time focusing on the text against the black its alot crisper than it appears in the photo. its a semi gloss black , that head on looks like a deep black. This was a bit of a surprise as I was expecting a finish similar to that of Explorers...a flat matt black that turns a grey tone in the sun...but they tried something different on this one. undecided if I prefer it or not. from an angle it takes on a lighter tone and the texture of the dial really shows Recipe Raffles case raffles dial clarks T12 crystal clone eta raffles ranger hands camo nato aged lume on dial and hands. assembled Another point I want to mention is that the proportions are right the balance on the dial . The minuite markers are further out to the edge compared to the yuki . The lume was aged by me on the dial and hands to match. Alot of hype around the new ranger release but the dial and text color dont do it for me This is the one to have imo people complain about the size but with the T12 box crystal it appears and wears larger and feels light on the wrist . Overall impression. This is a great out of the box option for a ranger build its unmatched as far as value. Thanks for looking . As always comments and questions welcome. \\\ Yuki dial for comparison
  9. Thank you friend. This dial is a few years old now. I have reached out to Yuki a few times recently with no reply yet..... I am expecting a delivery from Raffles this week and it has their ranger shield dial look fwd to seeing that in hand to compare them.
  10. well done loooks great!
  11. Digging through the parts drawers the other day . For fun I put together this Tudor Ranger 90220 Recipe Yuki Ranger dial Yuki Ranger hands Eta 2824 raffles case set T12 crystal As I was buttoning it up I remembered why this case was in the parts bin the threads are partially damaged so the case back isn't a water tight fit. so this one wont be heading to the beach with me this weekend but look s great desk diving for a quick and dirty build. will probably order a new case set for this on my next parts order and you may see this hitting the classifieds in the near future. As always questions and comments welcome thanks for looking.
  12. A brief update : I had the pleasure of building another commando for a forum member next door. This time I got to experience the mochacha dial first hand. GEN PARTS USED: 5500 case set 6mm crown folded link bracelet / end links crystal Other parts: Clone 2824-2 raffles movement holder - modified ofrie handset raffles DJ second hand Overall Dial impressions. Good quality quite accurate nice lume work and has a nice puffy appearance. 2 criticisms on the dial the paint is quite delicate compared to dials offered from yuki or raffles . the very outside edge of the dial chipped quite easily which was a bit of a disappointment It can not be seen when assembled but I expected slightly better for $400 dial the dial plate was slightly smaller and although it fit the case , it just barely did. I had forgot to measure the dial or opening. I was just glad I was able to make it work overall the dial is the closest there is to a gen example. He is now asking over $500 for the dial which I would say is where I draw the line If you must have one then yes but these doubled in price just over a year later is a bit much . ( I found out about them and this option just after I finished my build and considered ordering it as a replacement) but didnt. and probably wont . wish I did when it was sup $300 Here is the finished project . Overall I am very happy with how this build worked out. It was nice being able to see the mochacha dial first hand and work with it. The service from them was good and fast. Good communication and fast shipping . I would recommend them.
