  1. This is hilarious, a few of the experts on this board predicted that his watch was a rep.
  2. I like advertising like this that is creative. I would really like to buy an IWC watch one day, maybe the Porto for 10th wedding anniversary or something big.
  3. I've never seen a good rep of Oris, that Oris you posted is nice. almost like a sport/tool version of the Portoguese. There is one reservation I have about that particular design, the rubber strap. One of my co-workers has an Oris with that same strap and it is not that impressive a design, I would prefer a different strap but that watch is a great design otherwise.
  4. Yeah but "complete strangers will strike up a conversation just to get a look!"
  5. Amazing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd5W1zXZMdw
  6. Ok after wearing the Seikos mostly this week... I'm breaking out the Rolex after work this Friday...
  7. Nice shot I think it should be a requirement of these threads to post new pictures, some guys are posting the same ones over and over again from many months ago!
  8. True, I'm being silly to worry about it, cape cods get them out right away too... I heard that the rubber straps on Omegas are awesome and I'm wondering if one of those will fit the Tag. http://www.ofrei.com/page750.html
  9. Substandard is too strong a word, the bracelet is strong...just the clasp area is the most scratch prone piece of metal I have ever seen on any watch I've owned. It could be just be the way I wore it but I think I'll still go with the rubber and see how that works out. The rest of the watch is very scratch resistant so far. The case feels unbelievably solid.
  10. Wild strap! Do you have any wristshots of it?
  11. You should take pictures of it at the AD! add them to the daily wrist check section.
  12. Thanks so much for posting these photos Feta1. I am going to go ahead and order the strap now. The bracelet is extra-ordinarily prone to scratching! I have to wonder if this is because of some substandard steel used in it. The case has zero scratches but I get more scratches on the clasp where it says "tag heuer" in 2 days with this watch than I do after a month on a similarly finished Seiko I have. This is one of the main reasons I want to switch out to the rubber, also to freshen the look of it and keep the watch sporty. The rubber is more demur and lets the focus be on the case and the face not the bracelet.
  13. I just watched this movie the other day, it is an interesting suspense thirller. The watch he wears isn't one of those fleeting things where only a watch fanatic would notice it either, almost the entire movie you can see the watch and in several shots it is really clear, almost enough to make out the dial. It's funny that a young state prosecutor would be wearing a $10,000 watch though.
  14. I was in Bloomingdales the other night and when walking by the watches counter when I saw some Michael Kors watches. A few of them looked an awful lot like the famous IWC Portuguese or other IWC designs. They used quartz and did not have the signature twin dial but I thought they drew inspiration. Here's a few of them I found online, what do the IWC experts think here?
  15. Thanks jfreeman, I really like the big Breitling, that is a fun watch to wear I bet.
  16. You must be taking a lot of pictures with such a nice subject. I agree on the oversize watches, some women look cool with the big watches...but too often they end up not looking particularly flattering, feminine or sexy with the bulky clock on a petite wrist. If she doesn't want an expensive piece there is some nice all titanium watches made by Teno: Teno Watch 1 Teno Watch 2 from the description: Boccia Watches are all solid titanium, not titanium Plated. Titanium is non-allergenic and very friendly to the skin. When Boccia Watches come with a strap, the buckle is also solid titanium. Here is what Omega says on their website regarding stainless steel an allergies. Can I wear an Omega stainless steel watch if I am allergic to nickel? The materials used by Omega are subjected to severe tests in order to avoid this problem. The stainless steel used by Omega does contain nickel, but this must first be transferred from the material to the skin before an allergy is triggered. Our stainless steel is so stable that it does not release nickel and is therefore safe for allergy sufferers. The only exception is for those who are hyper-sensitive to stainless steel, i.e. those who cannot cook or eat with stainless steel utensils. In this case, we recommend you buy a watch which is made of titanium. Another option is to go the solid gold route, but that watch would be extremely expensive and also real heavy. I tried on a Solid Gold Panerai a few weeks ago, it weighed much more than the other watches.
  17. You guys have some awesome watches, every watch on this thread is great... Tag Aquaracer tonight.
  18. Quite a collection of gold and TT watches! I'm curious how does the Gold wear over time on your watches? I would enjoy having a TT Tag or a TT Omega, but I'm worried about the longevity of the coating.
  19. How'd they trash the Air-King? The "redesigned classic" Air-King looks cool to me. The new Yachtmaster is an abomination.
  20. She's pretty ;-) She's worth whatever you have to spend... I was going to say a Titanium watch, but I don't know of any good ladies reps that are Titanium. If you want to go expensive, a gen Rado on ceramic would be nice. They are completely made of ceramic. There's a lot of cool watches made of alternative materials these days, and ones where just the leather touches the wrist like this one
  21. I find articles like this fascinating, to remove some of the mystery of where the reps come from. Many of the factories that make the reps also manufacture legitimate items, then they make extra money as a replica factory. 22. What happened to your spare? Thanks for the pics Doc! I will check some ADs around here and see what they say. Too bad the UPO strap doesnt fit the Tag
  23. That'd be great Feta! I would love to see it. I hope it is not too hard to change the strap.
  24. The gen of this strap is crazy expensive, 275!! Must be some nice rubber http://www.authenticwatches.com/tag-heuer-...cer-ft8011.html
  25. I'm starting to think this watch might be more fun to wear with the rubber strap, has anybody seen a replica of the Aquaracer with the rubber strap to know how the rubber feels? The gen rubber strap is quite expensive. I wonder if it is very hard to change bracelets.
