I disagree with the Breitling suggestion. This new "stealth" superfast Caddy is not about bling and it is a very high performance car. For that reason I would go with a sport and luxury style like Cartier Roadster or a watch that has a racing or automotive them such as the Tag Heuer Carrera Chrono or Chopard Mille Miglia. If you go Gen, I'd think of this Seiko Sportura, these are cool looking. http://www.seikowatches.com/sportura/index.asp

That STS V Cadillac is a very serious performance sedan. It can hold it's own with the best german, japanese sports sedans. It has a Corvette engine in it I believe.
-
That's the nice thing about reps, if they break or get stolen you're not as devastated as with the Gens. Still not fun to have your possessions stolen, how did they get stolen?

I posted more in the Tag Heuer section here is a couple shots of a Gen and Rep side by side.

Today I met up with omega1 and we compared his Genuine Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chrono with my 2 week old Rep of the same watch. It was a good opportunity to compare the two, since they were the same color and model. I was having trouble noticing the difference, the feel and weight are the same too. Omega pointed out that the AR had a bluish tint on the rep, while the gen had no tint, the other things visible in person are that the Gen has a lighter dial color and the printing is a little more crisp and fine on the Gen. Can you tell the rep from the gen? It's pretty scary how close they were. With the info I gave above you can tell but without that it might be too hard to tell! Omega1 also has a superb Omega SMP with Genuine dial and superlumed by The Zigmeister.

Genuine and Replica Aquaracer Chrono.

I received this watch last week, I like it, it's a simple watch that is small and very comfortable. I like the blue dial very much. Here's some pictures of it. It has an Asian movement, it has a very smooth comfortable bracelet. The bracelet lacks half links to resize and the rolex clasp doesn't have the micro-adjustments that the Explorer II clasp has. Concentric dials on the watches

I went ahead and got this one from Joshua, I'm pretty pleased with it! Here's a few pictures of it I took tonight along with a short video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oytam0TY32o -

Same here, how long does it take? -
Newsgroups are definitely the way to go, use a news server like giganews. Use the RAR and PAR option and post to binary newsgroup. It can then be reposted every 100 days or so and then people download the NZB file to get the whole thing. I'll volunteer to post the whole collection if you want, I just need to download it first from someplace.

I like the Genuine Tag Chrono best, can you post a bigger picture of that, I'd love to see it.

I got the EXP II from Precious in the UK. It was funny because I ordered from UK dealer thinking it would get here faster to my home in East coast of USA. The thing ends up shipping from China! If he has it on hand it ships from UK though. He's really good customer service. I agree about the 7750, that Jacques Cousteau one is mighty tempting, but I'm thinking I'd like to vary my new collection with a Titanium piece or a leather strap watch.

Yes if you look at the last picture, the wrist shot, there is one small error on the rehaut, look at the 10 marker to the left. Other than that the piece is clean. I would have to see the gen next to it but from pictures I've seen the rehaut is same angle and looks the same. One thing I really like about this watch is the movement. It sweeps really smoothly and it has a nice power reserve. I purchased the new Tag Aquaracer Chrono rep with the Asian 7750 movement and I can tell the difference in the smoothness. Maybe it is just my perception or some illusion but the Rolex with the ETA is more pleasing to look at and adjust. I would be hesitant to pay big bucks (for a rep anyway) for a "super rep" with the Asian 7750, but I do enjoy the fact that the date wheels and other things all function on the Tag and the chronos work.

I agree, I came here in the last month and I love reading the forum and I also have received some very helpful tips, especially regarding the watch links that were stuck on my Tag Heuer Aquaracer. This is a good place and I will pitch in to keep it running. Paypal is BS though, we have to find another way to do it. Many sites have had trouble with paypal over the years where they stole their money. here are a few alternatives: http://www.bidpay.com/ http://www.neteller.com article discussing alternatives: http://www.workz.com/content/view_content....content_id=6856

unable to take links out of new Aquaracer
World Traveller replied to World Traveller's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
The saga of the watch band is over for now. Using 'brute force' method of link removal involving a watch link remover and pliers I was able to get the pins out and remove the links. The watch is great, I'll post some pictures of it in the daylight tomorrow. If anyone knows a good watchsmith in the DC area or even just anywhere period let me know, the ones I visited from looking in the yellow pages were terrible. -
I know this is a dull topic but I am truly stuck here. I bought the new Aquaracer Chrono and have been unable to resize the links. I took it to two small watch shops neither could take the links out and I used the tool in this ebay auction and it only gets the link about 1/3rd out and then it stops and even with pliars I can't get a link out at that point. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...N:IT&ih=006 It's so frustrating to have a new watch and not be able to wear it due to too many links! any advice is greatly appreciated. I followed suggestions on the board, I think the way to do it is to get a tool that has a longer pin to push the pin all the way through. I'm hesitant to go that route though because I am concerned I would not be able to get the pin back into the bracelet since it is so difficult to remove it in the first place. It is a real catch 22, because it seems that small watch shops don't have the tool to get Tag Heuer bracelets apart and I think it is a bad idea to bring a rep into an AD. I'm thinking of buying this tool but again I'm worried about getting the links back in: http://cgi.ebay.com/WATCH-LINK-REMOVER-BAR...3QQcmdZViewItem I'm also considering buying a genuine bracelet like this one, anybody done this to their Aquaracer, do they think it is worth the money? http://www.watchbands.com/ProductInfo.aspx...oductid,,BA0815 Does anyone know a good watch store in the Washington, DC area that can do this...? Thanks guys.
-
I don't have that problem but I'm finding it impossible to resize the bracelet, the push pins won't come out.
-
By-Tor, your reviews were a big help picking out a watch. In addition to this one I have a Tag Aquaracer chrono coming soon and for fun I ordered the new Rolex Air-King Steel with Blue Concentric Dial. I'm not sure if the Air-King will be a great rep but I love the design of this watch and it wasn't too expensive. I'll post in depth picts of it when it comes.
-
It is gun metal grey kind of edge on the markers (not pure black) and it is Wrong hand stack (GMT hand not at the top).
-
The GMT hand is adjustable smoothly over the whole range. I'm looking forward to utlizing this feature when I travel. For now I just have it set to Greenwich Mean Time. Do most people set it to a different time zone or leave it at GMT when they are travelling?
-
I received my first replica yesterday and so far I am very happy with it. It is a Rolex Explorer II with white face. I had been told this was a good watch to get for a replica from other watch collectors. I picked it up with the adjustable GMT and ETA movement from PT. Overall I'm very happy with it and I think this is a very good replica. Adjusting the links is easy with the screw out links (just need a real tiny screw driver, such as one used for eyeglasses). Where it falls short for me is the feel of it, the bracelet edges feel a little rough and when you hold the watch it doesn't have the same feel as a high end watch. The clasp to lock the bracelet is little rough to the touch. Just from appearance it is excellent, but it falls a little short in the feel department. I'd be curious to hear from other owners of this rep or if there are any Gen owners to know how it compares. I think visually it is remarkable. Without further ado, here are the pictures.

Now that you mentioned divorce courts and lawyers I can see how you lost complete faith in the system...you know one alternative and I'm actually not being sarcastic is to move to a really low cost country like Colombia or Argentina until you regroup. The women are really beautiful and sweet and your fixed income would go a lot further down there. You could take language classes or something enriching or do volunteer work there. Of course it would be hard to see your kid from another country. I was actually going to guess you invested in Enron or some dot com company. Worldcom is pretty bad...I hope Bernie Ebbers rots in jail the rest of his life. -

Allow me to first dry my eyes. How did you lose 90% of your money in the market? The average return for the last 20 years has been quite good, especially during the 90s....long term the stock market has been pretty good investment barring some violent catastrophe or natural disaster. Chavez and Castro may have "stood up to Bush" but I can assure you your $1,127 a month for posting on a watch forum is far less than the average income of a working person not a disabled person in Cuba and Venezuela. You'd be lucky to own a computer, afford the electricity and have high speed internet to enjoy the internet in either of those countries thanks to the despotic regimes of their dictators. -
Condensation problem on my PAM
World Traveller replied to georgegrasser's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I'm sorry I don't know how to fix your watch but I can share a similar experience. I had this happen on a Genuine Michelle Sport watch that cost about $400. I was travelling through jungle in the mountains of Colombia and changing altitudes combined with humidity I think did it. Very disappointing at the time, but now that I have reps that watch is in the dustbin. That Humidity in Florida is no joke.
