  1. Having had both the S3 and an iPhone 5... As a standalone phone, the S3 is a little better. As someone with an iMac, Apple TV and iPad, the iPhone fits my life better and the benefit of easily shared content outweighs the slight downgrade in screen-size and open source-ness. It is the first iPhone I can say that about, I've been BB then android prior to getting this. Echoing sentiment above, the camera is amaze-balls too! Sooooooo - the choice be yours.
  2. No problemo. The last-minute call hasn't worked for people but Savi on W-C has suggested a November GTG that could work. Think we're aiming for that so look out for details, would be good to meet some fellow watch nuts! S
  3. In the spirit of recent GTGs, anyone free tomorrow in London? S
  4. Just bought an 18 box... to the UK though so couldn't have joined this. Fast and clear comms from Rainer though, seems to be a good guy. S
  5. Come on come on come on! Am thinking I want one of these as soon as I get my modded Black Themes from Goin!
  6. Good lord, what is this called and where can I purchase it?????? S
  7. I'm in London and just sent my ROO to Goin for the full works - lume, AR, service, etc... He's in Taiwan though.
  8. Think all this talk has convinced me to get a LIP dial from DSN. Now to go simple black leather or tropic or sailcloth??? Thanks all, some good info in this thread. S
  9. The T-R has one fairly obvious tell though... In gen form it was never released as a 'civilian' piece and thus didn't have external lug holes. The Mil-spec and the No Rad dials were released as both military and civilian versions and the LIP dial was civ only (I think) so, lug-hole-wise anyway, they are more accurate. All of DSNs have external lug holes. That is just about the only thing I remember from my reading up on these a while ago, but with it in mind I think I'd go for the LIP and/or No-Rad as you also point out. S
  10. Not sure about the gen but I prefer a pull-out. Over time screw-down reps tend to lose their thread and become useless... Loving mine.
  11. My silver dial, gold hands has a pull-out crown bud. It's awesome too! S
  12. Where does he poop? What does he eat?
  13. Ya, the APB ones didn't fit my black themes... I did get some replacements from Josh FOC though as part of a subsequent order - he's good like that S
  14. I like the Corum much more BUT have had two Corum (ACC48 and a ACCchrono) with crowns that stripped... If this is a screw-down too, I'd steer clear. Just my 2 small pieces of currency. S
  15. I used to live in Leeds and there was a guy in the Corn Exchange there that was happy to look at reps. I didn't really test him with anything major, just a couple of crystal swaps and speed changes but he was quick and cheap. Talking four years ago now though so not sure if he's still there... S
  16. If you're close to London, I have a guy in the city that works on mine for me - rep and gen. Has never gone wrong, is cheap as chips and is quick to turn things around. He can also source gen bits and pieces - he got me gen crystals for my Explorer I and DateJust II and has serviced most pieces I own... I have mentioned him before on RG and provided details in a thread. His name is Sean and he runs a permanent mini-shop front in Piccadilly Circus, it is called 'Watches 2 Go'. NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with him, just a very happy customer. S
  17. Nice piece! You might want to take off the outer packaging shots unless you want to give the newly formed import teams a heads-up on what they should be checking... S
  18. Great watch Hike. I have to know, who is J and how can I contact him? Thanks S
  19. Interested to see where this leads... Can't help with the Chinese, sorry. S
  20. Maybe pull down the email he sent, not just xxxxx bits? I may be wrong but believe the 'authorities' could search on wording seeing as you listed the email address too... Not a good day out for any of us if anything comes of it. But as I said, order with confidence via the strap site for pp. S
  21. Yep, it's the way he does PP... Done it many times now, no problems. S
  22. That's a sweet piece buddy. I know it's been an epic journey for you too so congratulations on finally getting to the end! S
