  1. You need swap crystals with the guy who has the cracked crystal in the post below and you will be all set with the vintage look!! Looks cool. I'd like to see a shot of back as well.
  2. Awesome. My fiddy is the prize of my collection. It is the E0117 case, non-AR Sapphire front/back, but the old 100% swiss movement. Mine had great lume from the start not SL, but good. I sent it to The Zigmeister to service and put the longer cannon in, and now from the wrist it looks great!! Your new strap sounds awesome. I love the crazy horse straps!! I may buy one if I like the look of yours.
  3. I also think it looks much closer to the gen without, but that being said I wouldn't have gone to all the work to remove it. I'm glad you like the result in the end and hopefully you post somemore updates on your project.
  4. Well I don't know about the movement, but I can tell you that 1000m water resistant is definately BS.
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/Breitling-Navitimer-Ch...1QQcmdZViewItem This guy sold a 183 for $3k, now he has a navi with decorated rotor up for BIN of $1350.
  6. I think that you didn't knowinly try to mislead the buyer. I think it would be more than fair to offer the buyer his money back as soon as you get the watch back. The buyer could pay the shipping. The watch looks nice and provided it runs correctly it shouldn't be too hard to sell to someone who will appreciate it as is. A
  7. Normally, I don't search ebay, but this one is pretty close to my house. Very obvously a rep and already 2 bids. http://cgi.ebay.com/Panerai-Radiomir-Watch...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. If the serial number is intact Omega will service it. After the service Omega will warrant the watch for 24 months or so, but they don't give you any warranty card, but papers that state the warranty. You can look for an open warranty card on ebay, if you just want it for your collection, because even if you get one it won't be stamped, or vaild with your watch. If the watch is 10 years old it probably needs a service. You can also have someone else service it, just make sure what kinda operation they run or send it to The Zigmeister on here. He does things the right way!
  9. A lot of Gen Tags have pins. I agree with the above poster in looking for the arrows which tell you which way the pins come out. The pins are split in the middle which could give the look of a screw. What model is it?
  10. Everyone knows that John Rambo would spend $5K on a watch
  11. You can't beat that price! The 300m 100ft looks a little funny to me, kinda like it's streched, but it could just be the photo. Either way very nice pickup! Can you PM me the dealer?
  12. Confirmed on Tag's website. The standard model (7750 powered) has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The Calibre 36 (El Primero powered) model has double sided AR. I guess the extra $2k or so gets you the AR and they throw in the El Primero for Free
  13. Very nice link rep!!! The Calibre 36 with the El Primero may have the AR on it, but I don't know, because I've never seen one in person. I don't think that model has been repped yet anyway. I've tried on a gen 7750 powered model and I don't remember seeing any AR on it.
  14. I agree the gen doesn't have any AR so you'd be better off keeping your rep as is. Really the only thing that can be improved on the rep is to get a new ETA datewheel to go on your asian movement.
  15. That sucks man!! Hopefully you get something back out of it. Nothing lower than [censored] with someone else's [censored]!
  16. I have a gen. Omega doesn't sell just the insert. You would have to buy the entire bezel for $169 which won't fit correctly anyway. Your watch looks great and if you enjoy working on it, that's all that matters. I picked up a use SMP on the bay for $900 or so. No papers, but it's real. I've seen some good deals on ebay if you are will to wait.
  17. I had the simiIar problem at first on my fiddy, but instead of being stuck in the winding position it was stuck in the set time position. I ended up sending it to The Zigmeister for a service, because I wanted the cannon done anyway. Works like a champ now.
  18. Very nice gift. I think someone on TZ was trying to sell one of these books for $275.
  19. I think it's real. Anyone by the name "paneraifreak" with 1800 posts on timezone should know the real deal. Probably just a shadow or something on the pinion. Everything else looks good.
  20. I say wear the SMP. No one is gonna call that out. BTW: I like the watch your looking at.
  21. I've got a gen Tag Monaco and I love the plexi-crystal. If you scratch it, just a dab of Brasso and an old t-shirt will make the crystal look like new.

I agree with Fav. The cannon is a must. Anytime I see a pam without it now I notice right away.
  23. Hey Stud, Unless you have skills working with watches why don't you just buy an 005 from a dealer that has the swiss movement to begin with? If not then I'd suggest that you buy the Davidsen buy an ETA movement and send it to a well respected member of this board who works on watches. My personal suggestion would be to buy the davidsen and ETA and ship it all to The Zigmeister and have him do the work on it.
  24. I don't even know that we are talking about a longer cannon pin at all on Josh's model. I believe that from looking at Vacuum's review the dial is just much thinner which allows the swiss short cannon to be flush. I could be wrong, but that was my take on it. Either way Jos's 036 is awesome right out of the box. If you never plan on replacing the dial, then there is no problem with leaving the flush pin as is.
  25. I was just thinking that I had seen that same watch posted on here. I'm kinda happy to hear about the blue being incorrect, because I have a non-ar coated fiddy with the #0117 case and just had a cannon pin installed by The Zigmeister. I think it looks dead on from the front.
