  1. Only you can decide really. Another option would be to check out Prof's crystals but this is still an aftermarket option. Incredible black hole effect and AR.
  2. Dringen, what do you mean when you say "original Rolex"? Do you mean something with more of a classic look? The newer 6 digit ceramic subs from Noob are very good as Soghea says. An alternative would be a 5 digit JF. The latest version is getting a lot of attention and is being considered the best out the box 5 digit rep available at present. https://puretime03.com/watch-brands/rolex/submariner/submariner-16610-ln-black-metal-bezel-jf-1-1-best-edition-on-ss-bracelet-sh3135.html
  3. Alternatively, if you are set on a TC then keep an eye on the member classifieds, they do come up occasionally. Otherwise build a Franken based off a TC case.
  4. Penguin....let me persuade you to sell!
  5. Looks like www.ttw-1388.com is the new domain gents.
  6. Lovely rep Akilles. Looking at your pics makes the wait for my BK Noob sub so much harder. Nice images too!
  7. Well done on your recent acquisition. I see it as an inexpensive way of finding out whether that style/design suits you. Nothing worse than buyers remorse....if you drop $1000+ on a rep then you want to be sure!
  8. Rehaut alignment looks good. Slightly off but nothing major. Pearl looks fairly centre. Date alignment looks good. I'd be happy to accept it. A nice piece....enjoy wearing it.
  9. Welcome Patrick. Very much a new member myself. I can vouch for the forum being an archive of information. There is plenty to be found if you search around. Enjoy.
  10. I think that's made the decision for me Seamaster - thank you!
  11. I know it's a difficult ask gents without looking at it first hand and possibly opening it up but anyone any idea? Just want to know whether it's worth spending time and money getting it repaired or whether to buy a better Deepsea Rep. Thanks
  12. Gents, I was given this rep approximately 1 year ago with no info on its background or where it came from. I know it's certainly not a quality rep (the dial for a start) but I wondered whether it is worth paying out for a slight repair and service on it versus scrapping it and start the DSSD adventure again? Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  13. Forgot to mention about the Daytona. If I was looking for one, this here is a fine fine example.
  14. Evening Bonehead. Cant answer your questions I'm afraid but I'll say hello to a fellow Brit none the less :-) Enjoy.
  15. I thought I would grab a few pictures of my DSSD rep and see if anyone can shed any light on its origin maybe. Then I can identify whether it is worth sending off for repair.
  16. Thanks Sogeha! Excuse my naivety but what should I expect to pay for a Franken 16610? I am sure the skies the limit but a baseline idea would be useful. I had looked at BK's Noob sub c and they do look very nice. From memory it was circa $650 plus shipping. My issue with that was BK only takes Western Union or MoneyGram on larger payments and I use neither unfortunately.
  17. Thanks SSTEEL, much appreciated. I'm not sure whether it is worth repairing as the quality of the rep I have isn't fantastic. However I'm no expert and it was given to me so owes me nothing.
  18. Thanks gents. Interesting you say go for the JF sub rather than the noob SSTEEL. I know people are saying good things about the Yuki movement but I thought the Noob was considered a better rep in terms of appearance?
