  1. I just looked it up. If I have it right than holy cow. It looks like Ipad meets Netbook on Steroids. If it starts up in like 15 seconds, can do everything a real computer can including all the Office stuff and has big battery life it will certainly fit a need - mine.
  2. I have to ask what watch do you wear when riding a bicyle? At the end of the day Rolex is like any other luxury brand. The watch is what you want it to be. For some it is aspirational. For others it is simply a tool watch - whether part of a business suit uniform or on the wrist of a diver. Rolex has a rich heritage important to some but not others.
  3. Is the screen 11.6"? That would be a perfect size. Apple finally makes something to replace my IBM x61.
  4. OMG! The man, the myth the legend. Great to see you back. (it's Kruzer)
  5. Yes. But definitely go with one who sends QC pics to make sure you get a good crown guard.
  6. I am in the 20 range as well. What I love about the current state of play on my end is that it has made me really think twice before I buy something. Now I really focus on parts and then go from there. I don't buy more than one rep a year and they either become novelty items and disposable or I start finding parts and improving from there as possible keepers. We will ignore the 6-10 projects laying around the house waiting for that critical part.
  7. And for once the rep may be better than the gen.
  8. 04b but no swimming for me today:
  9. Welcome. Lots of good information here about reps and watches in general. Best of luck on your first rep. Whichever you choose be sure to check whether it has been reviewed or ask. Virtually every rep you will find from our dealers is owned by someone here.
  10. Keep those pics coming. I am trying to get my courage up to buy my first rep in quite a while and this is the one that most intrigues me.
  11. Without getting into whether it makes sense to stretch to buy a watch I would be really careful on the idea of buying a new watch you have to resell. If you have to buy a watch to get the one you want than buy a used one at 60% of new because that is the loss you may well be facing. A watch is only new once. You might ask your jeweler to keep his eye out for someone looking to trade in a Panerai for something else. Knowing he has a buyer the Jeweler can than take one in on trade knowing he is reselling to you. In any case my best advice is tread carefully and at all costs stay away from buying new and then having to resell as no longer new. Of course at some level you are asking the wrong crowd. Nine out of ten folks buy used here to save that 30% premium for a new watch.
  12. Sunshine300 if I remember correctly.
  13. Truly a classic. And the good taste to pick up that first year.
  14. Truly a great guy. Watches were a side thing for him. And in spite of that he worked with his silent partner in Asia (stunning woman if I remember correctly) and did some really innovative stuff.
  15. My bad. G series has historic cg.
  16. I say no on the gen but for no other reason than I have never seen a G series with a historic crown guard. It is a stunning watch with scenery to match.
  17. I have never had a problem with 2 or 3 hand watches - only chrono's.
  18. Congratulations. Looks great.
  19. I will guess gen on the hands as well (love true "blued" hands)which probably means movement too. Stunning watch.
