  1. Looking really good. Wear that one well.
  2. He did and I know it was a keeper on his end.
  3. A gen is never a faux pas. Wear it well. And Jay's 87 came from me but he is long gone.
  4. Lani- What a great idea. I do hope it will inspire a few more folks to join. And selfishly speaking, I can't wait to see what you are offering. By the way if you offer that black and red strap from the Blacksteel I am going to kill you. I just ordered one from Hk.
  5. Congrats on the sapphire. Once you put it together you will learn the secret of the ages. The sapphire is the most significant difference from the rep. Best of luck with the case set. Did you ever get your hands on a crown?
  6. Actually, I picture Ziggy hunched over his 100 year old watch smith's desk (could be time to trot out those pictures) staring at the innards of another Rolex "gen movement franken" and swearing at that "serviced" movement which looks exactly like the pictures above.
  7. VDB- Absolutely spectacular work. P- Wear that one well.
  8. Sander- Great fix. With all your other mods it is the cherry on top. Looks fabulous.
  9. I wouldn't be so sure about that.
  10. Looks incredible. Really nothing else.
  11. It is about time. I would guess the rep manufacturers will certainly take a shot at making a rep movement. Breitlings are too large a seller not to.
  12. I love the watch and would keep it as is but if you really want to think outside the box..... PAM170: But you will need a ti case and bi-metal bracelet.
  13. Wow, I looked back and I definitely paid $70 each for 2 last year. Nothing worse than price inflation in a deflationary environment.
  14. Great looking sub. And I like the transitional element of it. Congratulations on a nice piece. The gen may just turn out to be the equivalent to the transitional BP (new crown on old dial).
  15. Guys- Thanks for all the info. I even ordered the token device. - Kruz
  16. I had thought they were $70 but if he isn't willing to spend that offer him $50 for his watch since it is unwearable.
  17. Congrats on a wonderful day. It just goes to show you that horological wisdom transcends reps, gens, frankens, etc. My thrills come whenever there is a big watch auction in town. I try and stop by and get a gander of what is being offered. And because I have offered my own and friends' watches from time to time they at least recognize me and let me try stuff on (except for the Tourby's . Experiences like those Lani have always shown me how much there is to learn from the membership. There are folks here who have forgotten more than I will ever know.
  18. I have followed this watch since the first generation handwind came out. The tricks they had to resort to on the automatic is nothing short of amazing. Frankly, puts the Freak and any tourbillon to shame.
  19. Beautiful watch. One of my favorites - the Art Deco of Panerai. Wear it well. By the way wait until you see the 09 with your dial. The "relume" is done in proper "half-filled bath" format and should be coming back in the next 10 days or so. Much thanks for the dial.
  20. Great watches and straps. The strap is very reminiscent of the A series crocs. Where do you find Cajun straps?
