  1. The first question is whether you are getting any resistance when you push down the pusher. If not, it is possible the pusher has disengaged from the movement . This you might be able to recitify assuming you have ever taken off the back of a watch. That is the easiest answer other than simply trying to push the reset at the bottom before trying the top pusher. Beyond that you are either sending it to a watchsmith which will cost real money or replacing the movement. Bear in mind that this advice is coming from someone whose watchsmithing skills amount to typing Ziggy's address onto a shipping label. It works every time, impeccably I might add.
  2. Yup, for printing only I use nail polish remover. It is a little more time consuming when you have light engraving as well.
  3. Pug- Good point. What I can never figure out is which "new" 7750's have the same size posts and which don't.
  4. And as usual the dealer does the right thing.
  5. On the Swiss Versions the problem I have found is that there is often a disconnect between the pricing of the Asian and the Swiss version. Usually the price difference is $400 or more when the movement is $200-250 so I have always elected to buy the movement on my own and have Ziggy install it. It is far cheaper and he can make sure that it is properly oiled and running properly. In general I have found that independent movements from reputable sellers are fully serviced. And yes if they get it right the rep will be a must have.
  6. Ubi- Look at the bright side. At least you are not one of the 4,700 stuck at the airport for 2 days. By the way that "no powermax for you" on the left is pretty humorous. But I do get "the Soup" from "the Soup Nazi" everyday. You would kill for their Lobster Bisque. How does $12 for a bowl of soup grab you? And yes there is a line.
  7. Absolutely stunning and worth the wait. I cannot wait to see the after.
  8. The datewheel looks to me to be the same size as the other Asian 21j's as opposed to the ETA 2892. A group of folks have been working on an insert to correct the problem. The tricky part is that it is unclear whether there is enough room under the additional cyclops to fit it in.
  9. Yup. 42 or 34. Nothing in between. And currently unless you are buying the stock Inge SS you're caseback is wrong.
  10. I have never seen a longer clasp but I have seen longer deployment straps.
  11. Great site. The professor must have half of all vintage PAM's ever made.
  12. No. The spelling is fine - tachymetre on the 250 and tachymeter on the 251 but the bezel and crown gurad need to be brushed. Also on the gen the sub dials are very recessed relative to the rep.
  13. Yes. As I understand it they are finalizing the dial and then should be good to go.
  14. You have to be very careful with the dealers that are directly associated with factories. One of the reasons why we pay dealers the margin is to have the benefit of buying the right version from the right factory. I have noticed that increasingly watces are coming out from different factories at the same time with one version being signifcantly better than the other. Look at the PAM 243. The ETA movement and 7753 specifically comments ring true. 2824, 2836 and 6497 are a dime a dozen. The 7753 is being discontinued by ETA themselves. Once the current Daylights sell out and the limited edition 7753 187 comes and goes I am not holding my breath for anymore reps with that movement in it. IMHO, our high end reps will only get better aesthetically but the days of reps with the more expensive ETA movements are coming to an end. Getting back to the original point, I prefer to have the opportunity to look at more than one version on any given model before buying. So I would tread carefully.
  15. Funny as hell. They actually showed that video on the national morning shows here in the States.
  16. I couldn't agree more. I have actually been getting bored with brown and even alternate color stitching. My favorite band right now is old school Dirks black on black with gen pre-v buckle which came in a lot of 6 straps.
  17. Nice pics. wear it well. This version is far better than the original. Proper engraved He valve, superior bezel mechanism. The only downside is that the CG (IMHO) is not as accurate as the first version.
