Nice surprise on my return from the Carribean. This is how big it is. This is from Ken. Still waiting to hear from the Shanghai dealer though.Going through the usual 7750 break in though. Chrono subdials are now getting closer to spot on 12 o'clock on reset. Datewheel still has to "settle in" too. Same issues I had on the old school Asian 7750 Daylight. I also will guess that this one moves to inferior case/crystal when the price goes down. The case and extra thick AR coated crystal is pretty damn extraordinary though. Oh, yeah, I have #11.
-
Helpful info Neil. On the screws, I always immediately loctite any small screws. What I am wondering about are on the new 7750 Subs with the "12 click" bezels. I would be curious to know if they are attached in the same shoddy manner?

I would have guessed Paul. Took me three months to get my money back from the original crazy PAM sale. Next goes to Kenji Einjyin. He was the original person to sell Watchonpo outside Japan. The first two orders took 6 days. The last multi watch order took so long that my partner Rolex 2112 from RWG gave up on reps and started buying gens. I think he has a half a dozen by now. Actually 5 months after we made the order we gave up having gotten 4 out of 5 watches. But I have to say the new person representing Watchonpo outside Japan, Ken, is excellent. I should say that I have bought from the majority of dealers here (Eddie, Sean, Andrew, River, Josh, Neil, King as well as numerous members) and the shortest has been two days and the longest two weeks. That is what makes this place great. Where is the poll part?

Hey boys, I told my wife I have to stop by the office to pick up some work on Sunday morning when I get back.

I got the same email. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Ken makes a great point. If you are going to try this please note this in your review. Anybody who doesn't do that should be banned. You are encouraging a scammer.

Panerailord- If you sent pp, he has said he is shipping on Saturday. Finepics- I agree with your comments. The fundamental issues with lello crown are that no two were the same, they were not SS and could not be polished. Also because each was different you never knew how close you could get the crown to the case until you mounted it. With the more distinct teeth and a good polish these new ones should look pretty good. Having seen a good number of PAM's this week what intitally stands out on the gen crowns is the polish and the depth of the teeth. I will be curious to see whether anyone else actually shows up with a new version. Maybe when PAM sells enough of these he will do them again ending the bevel at the appropriate point and making them 1.9. The good thing, on this round, is that the extra thickness will most likely mean you do not need to buy a new crown guard if you previously had a Lello crown on it. Now just add a cyclops and datewheel and life is good.

I know that and appreciate it. It has been a long and nerve wracking journey. But they are always fun. I am with you on the 194. With Asian 7750 it would be perfect. By the way, if the markers do start coming loose I know someone with a Lazer welding gizmo.

Two more days and I am home. Great pics. My new avatar (if I ever figure out how to make one will be the "beasts" - 187 and Perfect Fiddy. And just wait for the 194. You know it will come.

Watcher71, a new B R E I T L I N G

Is that the Breitling Cellini? -
It ain't just noobs. Marv1n- Great post. All concerns are always welcome. If you knew the hystery concerning the nuclear annihilation of RWG 1 you would be chuckling. Replica Center and one or two other true scam sites have caused thousands of current members to come here, old RWG 1 and TRC. Enjoy the read and as long as you stick with dealers with positive feedback you should have a great experience collecting reps. If you move beyond the "I like reps" phase into the search for WISdom, you have also found the place. A core group of members here have more true watch and movement knowledge than any you will find on Timezone or any other genuine site. Have fun.

I have banked a couple of rare earth companies over the years and always wondered what the hell it was. No joke. Every time the technical consultant starts to explain it to me my eyes glaze over and all I can ask is "how stable is the cash flow?" The end products do command a pretty penny though. Nothing to do with this column but I never see "Rare Earths" in print anywhere. What a great forum.

Kind of looks like a CB radio. Best of luck. With your collection I suspect it will provide you with many hours of enjoyment. You may even have to try it on a rep.

Kruzer00 does not hail from my days in Chelsea (New York) or the Al Pacino movie "Cruising." Rather, it refers to my favorite motorcycle - Bourgets Bikeworks Kruzer. Guess what year I bought it? Bright orange, flamed out, 40 degrees of rake, 2 inches of stretch. oil flows through the frame and seat sits 18 inches off the ground. It has a Kendall Johnson "modded" 113 cu inch engine making 135 horses at 12.8 compression. Rad for a v-twin. If I was at home I would post a pic. Picture my baby on Park Avenue at 8 am heading out to upstate New York setting off every car alarm along the way. It's kind of like the PAM 187 - big, obnoxious and you can't miss it.

With the high minimum order this one will come but I suspect it will only happen when a wholesaler makes a big order. I still have not given up hope on the 7753. In fact I am taking bets with members that we will see the 7753 within the next 3 months.

Great to see Offshore stepping up here. I enjoyed many posts on RWG I. Offshore- I guess I won't be seing your reviews in the rep vs gen column anytime soon. Actually, I bet you will own one or two reps sooner rather than later.
-
Can I have one? Please?

Start with telling us which model you are buying and then people can make suggestions.

Nanuq- You could be the last of the Administration to buy a PAM. You will give in. It is inevitable. Hey, even I finally gave in to the MBW's. Works both ways.
-
Apparently, admin is finalizing some update work. I have received intermittent emails informing the membership what is up. Being down - bad thing. Being informed what is going on - good thing.

Very nice watch. A nice break from the norm PAM. IMHO, the dial is somewhat reminiscent of the IWC GST Chrono. Wear it well. Nice photography too.

Panerai experts - need help deciding 111 vs 127
Watchmeister replied to Canuck88's topic in General Discussion
Start with 111. 127 is really big. My wrist is closer to 7.50 inches and I don't consider it a workday watch. I love wearing the 47mm. Even picked up the 187 having worn the 1950 for a while. The 47mm look huge, feel huge and you will love it. But don't try fitting it under a shirt sleeve. The move from Rolex to 44mm will be noticeable on your wrist. From rolex to 47mm is very different. -
Very nice watch. I agree with the sentiment on the crown and tube. IMHO, makes a huge difference. Ziggy has two of mine doing exactly that.
-
I echo the sentiment.

What is interesting is that the bevel may be too extreme (45 versus 30 degrees - where is the degree sign on my laptop), but I noted that PAM made these 2.1 thick versus the 1.9 on a gen so I am guessing the bevel may be off but the extra thickness will allow for a nice "thick" crown. The whole crown issue is doubly tricky because every time you change them you may well need a new crown guard if you don't like what the finished product looks like. I do hope the crown will be polishable as I have seen a number of PAM's in the last 2-3 days and the two things you notice on the crown are the depth of the teeth and the shine.
-
Most of what you are referring to relates to nomenclature. PAM strictly goes by the numbers. For instance the Daylight refers to the 196, the 196 does says Daylight on the caseback refering to the Stallone movie which this watch was commisioned for. 188 was also referred to as a Daylight and has a white dial. But at the end of the day stick with the model numbers, And yes, the identical watch with a different dial or made out of different materials or with metal bracelet can be a different model number. It is the whole limited edition thing. Keep your PAM life easy though. Stick with the numbers.
