  1. Thanks for the idea, it did nothing. Seems that 1 to 13 are fine, then starts to drop at 14. By 20 it's low and not centered up to 31 which looks OK. I think it's the printing on the date wheel.
  2. I can't even find words to describe my feelings, except to say that I agree with all your comments to the zillionth power! Visions of this madman straped nude in a chair, a case of Skippy (the crunchy style) peanutbutter, and 100 live starving rats did pop in my head.
  3. I opened the package, took her out, removed all the plastic, moved the clasp pin into the right position, then went to set her and ........ WTFrig, is this a swiss ETA? Is there anything I can do to fix the date myself or should I just send it back? So much for my excitement, it has now become a hastle ...... don't you hate that? :yucky:
  4. Has anyone heard of an "error dial" 16710 GMT Master II? It's been said the last batch of 16710s has the error "GMT Master ll" printed as well as the new 3186 movement (used on the GMIIc line now), instead of the previous 3185. I ask because I have this dial and I see they are selling at a premium.
  5. This was my Uncle's, then my Dad's, then mine, and now ..... my Son's ...... who's next I wonder?
  6. I've taken some pics of my original Rolex Tropic strap with a re-issue that is currently available. I ordered the Tropic strap though my AD about 15 years ago, they are no longer available. The re-issue is about 95% on with obvious differences. The Tropic has "TROPIC" and 20mm on each strap end and the rubber is a little more pliable and has a matte finish. The original buckle also says "INOX" which is missing on the re-issue. All are less noticeable when an original is not available for comparison. These straps were available as a replacement for Sport models and were standard OEM on some models. Tropics are a very nice alternative to the old standard Nato.
  7. Well, I waited to order as to make sure I would get all of DSNs latest updated parts ..... but now I only wait on delivery! I have a 202, 203, 207, 210, and 218 on the way. I can't wait to have these babies home. What polishing cloth do I use (asad help out here) to get the PVD looking right? BTW, who makes the best PAM0029 case? I'm guessing that a DSN is right-on, no?
  8. WOW, That looks awesome! I realy have to learn how to use PS, and my Nikon. LOL
  9. Maciek, I feel you my friend. I lost one of my babies last year, and at only 9 ....... boy we miss her. But I'm sure that Beta and my Perdita "Perdi' are somewhere having a ball. Here, in honor of Beta are my 2 Goldens, Beauty and Kiara.
  10. I'm wit' ya brada! I miss flirtin' with the Queen.
  11. Much better than I usually do. I'm proud of myself.
  12. Though the brand has been around for a while, I also feel it's a bit much $ for a relative unknown. I figure they can/will be found at 40 to 60% off. They'll float around a while until some sell at retail, then the FIRE SALE starts .... hopefully.
  13. I actually like the gold model, it's a huge chunk-o-gold! Not really into the whole "Titanic" BS, probably only .0000001 gr of it in the watch anyway. It's a little morbid, but the design looks great.
  14. I've been lusting after this watch for a while, just something about it I guess. I can only hope that one of our esteemed builders/dealers decide to produce these in the future. I think it would be quite popular, what's your opinion? 15. My friend owned a D-D his father gave him for his 20th Birthday. It was the first D-D I ever fell in love with, and it had a Burl Wood Dial! Man was that thing hot. I've been looking for one. I also happen to see one in Oysterquartz, but it was bark finish ...... Illlllllllllllllllll. LOL
  16. I also had one years ago. It was SS with black dial. I liked that you didn't get the Oyster bracelet rattle from the endlings as with auto models. It was also heavier due to the construction, much like the old Cellini model. BTW, I have an old 80's Cellini rep somewhere, I should look for it.
  17. Looking for an Oysterquartz Rep. I'd like a SS or SS/14K Datejust model. Anyone of these great dealers have them?
  18. I was thinking of having Davidsen replicate The Logo for me, I do miss it so! I used OEM because it was all I had access to at the time. BTW, the hands are OEM with paint removed. The seconds hand is steel so I had the complete hand Lumed.
  19. OK, this is an OLD one! Took this the day my 195 came from Mr. Bonati. I used a pic that was in a Panerai News Letter. There no Photo Shop, I just angled the dial on the pic. The JayTech I PAM0001 polished case with brushed crown gusrd, brass hands, and Tobacco dial.
  20. SSSURFER'S post made me remember my "JAYTECH I" and the following "PVD Logo" The Logo is gone and the JT I now belongs to my Son. Here are some scans. Both watches used all OEM Parts. JAYTECH I SS PAM0001 Case, Brass Hands, Tobacco Dial PVD LOGO PVD Pre-A Case, 201/A dial, OEM Replacement Mvt
  21. I have to say that I LOVE IT!!! Wow, what an idea. Here's what I think you can use to build that baby. I even have the perfect name for it, the "SURFTECH". PAM0104 case (brush/polish finished to resemble a Fiddy) PAM0111 crown guard (is larger than the 104, so it will give it the "look") PAM0104 dial PAM0140 hands
  22. Just playing with my new Nikon and decided to take this pic. I figured since I was wearing it anyway, what the hell.
  23. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't even know what I'm doing, just got lucky. Holy crap, just noticed what size those are! Boy, just call me Uncle Gump. BTW, how does one watermark?
  24. Ok, but I'm not good at this. Here's my attempt at taking pics with my new camera. I don't know how to watermark or what size these are, hope they work.
