  1. Yes Sir, it's a gen. It's the early style and I agree it's dressy with a croco. And to answer Fish, I've never seen an A series (2 screw) rep buckle.
  2. Yes Sir, I actually used the one in the pic.
  3. I've used this method on satin finish steel as well. On finishes as found on the case side you'll need to use the Scotch-Brite pad. This works on these finishes on any type of metal.
  4. I happen to have a new gen 20mm Oyster bracelet waiting for me at my AD. PM me if interested.
  5. I just received this PAM0082 from Matt. He clearly stated there was a scratch on the bezel and showed it in photos. I thought it the perfect chance to show those who don't already know the power of an ink eraser. I posted instructions before and had pic requests, so here they are.
  6. Well, I only really wanted one dresser, but ended-up with a trio, and a pretty good one I think. The Patek 5510-R is a super piece. I always wanted the Ebel, but wanted it on the Wave bracelet (can we say Sonny Crockett?) .... settled for the strap. The final is the Eddie Lee Muller in 18K (thanks again Archi) which is a great watch and I always wanted a Muller.
  7. Is this the correct crown for the 5508? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4.cWAT.m240.lVI Does anyone have the correct part number for a replacement crown for the 5508?
  8. Thanks guys, you're all very helpful. This place is full of the best people. I'm learning so much here, and I learned it from watching you.
  9. Who wouldn't want one of these, I mean it's WHITE (pardon the pun) HOT!!!! Anyone know the Ref# to this one .... if there was one.
  10. I'll be hanging at Houlihan's in Bayonne tomorrow at noon, can anyone make it?
  11. This is my fave! Great collection, I can only hope my RR collection looks this good someday.
  12. You can count me in for a few cases.
  13. You need to use tubes and screws. The tubes are inserted into the strap and you use the screws where you would otherwise use springbars. Have fun and welcome to the fold.
  14. Nice to see ya Rob, hope things are getting better. THANKS again for the crown/tube, you're the best! Your tube and crown are a perfect fit, but the crown doesn't seal when pushed into the existing tube, but does screw down. Is there a larger crown that will fit the tube or case I have? BTW, NDT will be replacing the dial to a GG dial ..... but I have to say the matte dial looks really cool. What do you think? 5512 Gilt/Glossy 5508 Gilt/Glossy? PAM0024 Production (satin) and Prototype (Glossy) dials
  15. Well, I may not be in the same league ... but this is my first attempt. Got the 5500 on eBay and the other parts from NDT. The case came with the standard bezel insert, so I've ordered the "plain" insert. ND shipped this dial but I had ordered a 2 line gilt/glossy dial. This dial is not glossy as my 5512 dial, so is this not glossy? I also feel that the crown is a bit loose. I was gifted a 6mm crown (thanks Rob) but it fits a little loose in the case's tube. What can be done? The 5500 case will later get the over polished gold fluted bezel and gold crown replaced with steel. I will also add a NOS Rolex factory bezel and the Rolex/Tudor Explorer dial pictured. Advise is sought from all, please share you thoughts.
  16. Hey, LOOKIN' GOOD!!! Enjoy it and I'm glad you're happy with the dial.
  17. SUPER DUPER!!!!!!!!!! Wear it in the best of health.
  18. I believe they rate it the same as the old, but it's thinker with larger Sub size crown. It wears MUCH larger than stated. The ceramic dial is a pain IMHO. Tons of glare and hard to see when wearing polarized shades. I think I use Rolex sport models when I need a break from 44mm plus size watches, but the new GMT lacks a bit of the dress factor and comfort. Opinions may differ.
  19. Yes, also stopped by the local Patek AD, fell in love with an Aquanaut. but left there empty handed There's always tomorrow
  20. They should rename this monster GMT MASTER III or at least GMT MASTER II.V!
  21. OK, now I'll have an empty 5500 case. Would an eta mvt fit this case? I found a Tudor Explorer dial/hands set that would look great in the case. I figure that the 5500 case, tudor Explorer dial/hands, and an ETA mvt will make for a COOL Franken. What's you opinion?
  22. WOW, I should have read this before I got into this Bond project!
