  1. Your responses to my recent posts about DSN's and other Collector's recent QC problems have bought up several good points. My idea in general is a new forum to highlight a collector's or specific model's problems. We need one place to post these issues. Currently, such posts are scattered between their specific brand's forum and most don't read every individual brand forum. Another idea would be a "Showcase Forum", where collectors could send (to be returned later) a Moderator a sample of one of their new offerings to be previewed, photographed, and examined. Comparisons between similar models could then be done with ease. No more "who's 112 or SMP is better" questions. I have some extra time to devote to this project, but don't know how to kick it off. Remember, I'm still a newbie here so forgive me is these are old subjects. I really believe any info/intel is good for the community, and making it easy to access is crucial. So, what are your thoughts? My DSN Post My QC Post
  2. Now that's great CS, and I'm now inclined to buy from Angus. That's info, and that helps the community. BTW, Angus get's very good reviews as far as I see. But even he can have a problem. Most dropship and aren't even aware of any problems with a specific model, a forum would do just that...inform the community and those dealers who DO care what we think. I don't put the complete blame on the dealers, it's the shops they buy from. Hell, most dealers don't ever see the watch they sell you.
  3. That's the idea, to help and inform the community. I figure I'm already in this crappy deal, let me ride it out and get more intel. I can then pass on the info to the community and maybe help in the process. I would love to post that DSN has delivered a quality product so that everyone can be happy, let's wait and see.
  4. Word to the wise, great point. But I thought I had done just that when I picked DSN. Then again, he's the ONLY one with Pre-V watches so I didn't have much of a choice. I think that dealers will get a little "comfortable" when dealing with a customer for a while. Just my 2 cents.
  5. UPDATE: I finally heard back from DSN. I has asked for a refund in my last email but said I would rather take the watches if they were of better quality. He replied the watches would be ready to ship next week, but also asked how much he owed me if I decide on the refund. Now, I think a refund is the safer bet, but it would not help the community. I will see what his replacements are like and post it here. I hope that he's settled his QC problems ..... more to come.
  6. Here's the perfect example. A senior member has a problem and another member doesn't know about it. If someone has a problem with a DSN product it gets posted in the Panerai Forum. A problem with another dealer gets posted in the forum connected with that brand. We need a forum exclusively for deals gone bad. That way we can track problems with specific dealers and models. We don't want to take food off the dealers tables, we should just let others pay for dinner!
  7. Very nice, wear it in health!
  8. No problem, that's what the community is for. BTW, where did you get your Avi, download a star pic and crop it? If so, who is it?
  9. WOW perfectly said, I have to give you on your honesty. He's just getting and this lack of QC will most likely in his face. I just hope that if he bails from his sinking he doesn't leave us or out in the . Recent posts have given me an for a new forum to collector problems. Moderators would then be able to for the community. I would be the to volunteer, and I'm sure I could find a and to help. We need to stop being and together now. Hey, some of us here save for a while to get an expensive rep and then take a , that's not right. Collectors who don't respect the community should be ! I also want to say that I'm NOT a voilent person and it took me longer to write this post than it did to make my first child
  10. So I guess there is nothing to be done? I really don't understand it ..... why do we put up with the quality. There must be a way to at least make a price adjustment for these watches. If you pay X$ for a watch and it's not right, then the prices must reflect. I don't mind paying big $ for great reps, but they should deliver what is promised ... no?
  11. I have read many posts of unhappy members (myself included) who are spending hard earned cash on reps. I see a pattern of having the first few watches go out, members post how great they are, then subsequent watches are sent of inferior quality. Others post pics of Prototype watches then shipping starts and they look nothing like what was promised. They always say that one slipped thru QC, but then you have a few more, BS if you ask me. One would think that shelling out $400 for a 90% accurate rep is a good deal, but is it? It's not bad on a good deal where the watch IS what was promised. Any problems add shipping costs, delay, headache, trouble, and time to the deal .... sometimes costing you more than the $400 you initially forked over. Hell, I for one can't put a price on the aggravation I feel to open a package I so happily waited for just to fine junk I can't even wear. Now I don't mean to sound like a dictator or tyrant, but I believe we have the upper hand and control when it comes to "Collectors". It's our money and we should be happy with what we get .... the FIRST time. We all need to come together and put a stop to this madness. I for one am upset of reading member's posts of deals gone bad.
  12. Sounds like you got a returned watch, sounds like the one I got originally. Well, at least you'll be able to do something with it.
  13. I have informed DSN to refund my cash. I did give him a chance to make good on the order, but he would have to guarantee the watches would be to the standard he claims. What do you guys think I should do?
  14. I would say a 24X24 strap with a brushed buckle.
  15. Great, just what I wanted to hear. Did you have to wait for your watch to reach him before he shipped the replacement? How long did it take for it to get back to you?
  16. Yes, $2000 .... but that was for 5 watches. It would have been worth the money if they were all useable. I can't either. This just shows that the Gens are much more that $200 watches. You can always get your money back on a Panerai, but not on a POC busted watch. This has become such a PITA they should say PANERIOD of the dial.
  17. Hell, he doesn't loose a penny. I get stuck paying shipping back, I get stuck shelling out the 2K, I get stuck waiting for the replacements and praying they are better than the last he sent. Don't forget, there is no guarantee that the replacements will be correct ..... one can only hope.
  18. Great story, outcome, and gun. Luckily all worked out, you kept cool, and you got to take the rest of the day off. I myself am a little more hot headed.
  19. Thanks for the info and the scans Pizzo. Please PM me the info on the MBW. BTW, Puretime offers a Swiss mvt option for $450 more. What is your opinion?
  20. I agree 10000000000000000000000000000000%. I've bought 3 reps from members without a problem. Bought a Josh vintage Rolex GMT and a BIG order from DSN and nothing but problems. Below are links to my posts. DSN JOSH
  21. AP EOD? I'm asking because of my recent problems with my DSN watches. I'm looking for the Swiss version and hopefully be able to get it with both the leather and Kevlar straps. Please post info/thoughts and pics if you own one, and please don't be shy to offer it up to me for trade/sale.
  22. I actually think that the screws are too thin to grab the threads. My screws just danced in the screw holes.
  23. I can safely say it's gen. Congrats!
  24. Well, seems Mr. Stark prefers BVLGARI. Both use the new in-house movement.
