Ok, got a Ref5500 ($910 was that bad?) Found all the other parts from NDTrading. The 5508 case, crystal, dial, hands and tube total $1240. The total is $2150, not bad I think. I was told that the Brevet 8mm crown ($400) would not fit the 5508 6mm case, is this correct? What type of crystal is used? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know V, they look the same to me. I feel that the dial on the eBay 3646 is different than the others and any I've ever seen. I checked Sr. Ferretti's site and they are all the same, as they should. I MUST CONCUR Peep (I always wanted to say that). 6 recent pos feedback, 24 total. Look close at the 6 and 9, I've yet to see a vintage with open numbers like that. I do remember a collector doing his own hommage piece, and it looked much like that. The crown is what made me remember that piece.

Correct. That's because it came with the PW the maker used to build it. Look at the 6 and 9, no where close to the gen. Davidsen's dials are much better. Here are some examples of the dials. From top to bottom are the watch on eBay, a gen 3646, and Davidsen's Vintage. Note how close Big D's dial is to the gen and how off the auction watch's is.

I found these pics of my PAM0036 dials. I dropped in on my watchmaker/friend while he was doing sevice on some of my pieces. He happened to have both 36s apart so I snapped these pics, hope you enjoy. Notice the difference in the font and the finish on the back side.

No V, it's only 40mm. But notice that watches look MUCH larger on film. It's also thin compared to it's 7750 big brother.

I would go modded rather than having it done later. If it's all done you don't have to worry about having it done, who'll do it, or will the parts fit. I see alot of will X's crystal fit Z's case posts, I would save the trouble. But then again ...... what do I know?

ST, I would have my name put on the watch. I don't know what font was used but I can ask for you, good question. I know the 195 was engraved in Italy and the 206 in NY, but they look somewhat alike.
