  1. mj, did you really just say that , I have to look again?! He has no reason to be annoyed, he probably sent those two out to other customers who may or may not return them. It's this attitude that's allowed him to do this....until now. Hell, there are those who aren't bothered by the case notch, the case notch? It's a hole in your case that doesn't belong there .... but that's fine. You did the right thing by not accepting the watch, buy a different 104 and be happy with it.
  2. @ Peep: He's got the only Pre-A and Pre-V pieces. That's why he needs to step up a bit. @ Chad: The dial isn't THAT bad. It's a Pre-V numbered dial with Pre-A markings. It's inaccurate, butI can live with that. @ Chico: I would have been a HAPPY man if ANY of my 5 looked that good, best of luck.
  3. I wouldn't say that there are no variations. I've seen a fiddy with a solid back (on the wrist of a panerai employee) and other strange things not seen in production watches.
  4. Peter, I'm sure it was just an error in his post. Markus is well known for both his great watches and mistakes in his postings. I bought my first Panerai from Markus.
  5. I believe that the font on the case back is incorrect. Didn't it have the older (swiss CROWN made) print? Wasn't the /1 a fixed lug case and was there even a /1 designation on the case and case back?
  6. Galore that is. Here's Honor Blackman aka Pussy Galore also wearing what seems to be a Rolex GMT. Looks like she also has a hidden message for James, check out her hand.
  7. My Dad bought this 5512 new for $150 from an AD. It's now my Son's watch, I gave it to him on his 21st B-Day. Luckily I just got the 5508, so to him.
  8. Here ya go, a ship full to choose from. Here she comes. Don't like that one? How about an M5 or M6?
  9. Super HOT! Glad to see that buckle wearing such nice leather, well done. Can't wait to see what's next.
  10. Welcome Tom. I'm sure you'll find a spot here, this is a great place and some wonderful people. Enjoy.
  11. Please explain about the pearl. Do you mean it would not have the steel bezel? What would it be and where can I find one? Thanks Freddy.
  12. Thanks V, that means alot coming from you and speak louder than words.
  13. Laz, Best post I've seen in a long time, truly fantastic and great reading. Wow, you've come a long way Lazarino! I must say, I didn't know there was a Canal St. in Slovakia.
  14. Thanks CMan. Here are the specs. I'd been dying for a Bond, true class is you ask me. I gave my son my gen 5512 (family owned since new) and I missed having a dateless Sub, so I figured it was time. Movement: Gen Rolex cal 1530 Case: 5508 replacement from NDT Crown: Gen Rolex 6mm Dial: NDT 2 line 5508 G/G Insert: NDT 6538 (Bond) Handset: NDT vintage Rolex
  15. Here she is. I'm in love with this baby. This and the PP 5110 are the only small watches I can now wear. What do you all think? SPECS: Movement: Gen Rolex cal 1530 Case: 5508 replacement from NDT Crown: Gen Rolex 6mm Dial: NDT 2 line 5508 G/G Insert: NDT 6538 (Bond) Handset: NDT vintage Rolex Get your own James, this one's mine!
  16. Funny, about the only parts I didn't have are what DSN does....Pre-V. I thought his stuff looks good so I'd get a few for beaters. Once a victim, I felt it an obligation to spread the word and help the community. BTW, when I say community I mean ALL. We share a passion for watches and that bonds uf as a community. I have been made to feel at home here as I was at 'Risti and TZ. I think this hobby/passion is to bring us joy be it in the form of a $20,000 gen, $400 rep, or $200 gen. I'm an ex-mod by the hand of the second owner of 'Risti, Dr. Admin Mao. The Dr. found it necessary to let me go when he combined 'Risti and his other site The Purist. I gave up my mod gig at TZ because I was very busy at work and couldn't find the time. I post on TZ and 'Risti from time to time but would never post about reps. I keep my home lives seperate from eachother. Why am I not tarred and feathered by this place knowing who I am? Hell, I didn't even bother to get a different screen name, because I D G A S. I'm sure there are those who know I'm hear and talk is going on, but that just gives them one more thing to worry about everyday. My biggest problem is when are they going to make an EOD with the seconds @ 12 so I can flip my gen? Besides, I'm sure you guys "got my back" if they ever do come to tar and feather me.
  17. DSN vs GEN vs iOffer Thought this would make for a good comparison. Used my DSN Swiss ETA 5218-210/A, a $250 5218-205 I bought on iOffer a while back, and a Gen case back. The DSN and iOffer have similar engraving quality, but the iOffer has better paint and lasts longer. Here are the DSN, GEN, and iOffer compared from the inside and out. I think pictures speak louder than words here. The Swiss ETA in DSN's offering vs the unknown movement in the iOffer watch. Can someone please verify that the DSN is a Swiss movement and maybe help identify the iOffer's heritage? Here's a pic of the CG side of the DSN. It better shows the crown centering problems of late. Here's a comparison of my GEN 195 (top) and the 210/A. Please note the the CG on the 210/A is meant to be a Pre-V hence the thinker CG. The infamous case "notch" being found on recent DSN offerings/ Finally, DSN 210 vs GEN 210. I was impressed with the watch. All in all a very nice watch, with only the notch and stripped lugs really bothering me. Here are two GEN cases for any comparisons you may want to make on your own. I've included a HW and Auto for you guys. Please let me know via PM if you have any questions or would like any other pics of any of my watches. I'll try to help as best I can. Best of luck to all and happy hunting.
  18. OK, sent all but one DSN watches back. Was in love with the dial, didn't care about the stripped lug screws and just used the spring bars it came with. Today I'm finally ready to start the CC Polishing and I notice the case, WTH? Is this normal for his cases? Check where the crown meets the case.
  19. Well, the two new 111 watches are Marinas (with second hand) while the 112 is a Luminor (Base w/o seconds hand) so they are different looking watches. I prefer Luminor models, but I have several of each. The 112 sounds pretty moded saving you the work, time, and/or money. Best of luck.
  20. I agree with frankt, the green "Tuffy" pad, they are called "Scotch Brite" pads by me. Usually $175 for 3. Use lightly and it works great, also works on Ti. Here are some scans I did a while back. Ti/SS Scratch Repair
  21. Hey Kuba, I have a question. Is there an indentation on the front of the case were the crown meets the case? Just noticed it on my DSN 210/A when I went to give it a polish. It's between the bezel and the crown, looks like a cut into the case.
  22. LOL, no believe it or not. Have an old 6497 HW movement I'm using. I may not have been clear with the problem I want to try and fix. It's a HW 6497 and winds fine. The problem is that it will not stop winding. There is a loud single "click" where it should tighten up and stop winding, and lets me continue to wind. Did I explain it right?
  23. Well, I was lucky enough to win kruzer's 87 on the RWG auction. BTW, check them out, some great stuff being sold/auctioned for our cause. This baby is tricked out, but I also have a CG, dial, hands, and caseback for her. Mmmmmm mmmmm good!
