  1. I'm sure it will not equal Berting's 6538 Bond, but I'm sure I'll be happy. His Bond project was my inspiration, so I can only hope it comes close.
  2. Just got an email saying that my 5508 is on it's way back, can't wait. Pics will follow. Specs as follows. Movement: Gen Rolex cal 1530 Case: 5508 replacement from NDT Crown: Gen Rolex 6mm Dial: NDT 2 line 5508 G/G Insert: NDT 6538 (Bond) Handset: NDT vintage Rolex
  3. Great results with your light tent. You can also use a translucent Rubbermaid container to difuse the light, the container can then be used to store the lights.
  4. Great report V, thanks for the info. Fantastic straps BTW.
  5. Kruzmatic's eye candy just gave me a cavity it's so sweet. I'm glad that dial found such a great home. The Graham is hot, and please do kill the AR from that 36.
  6. Funny thing about that watch. It retailed new for about $1800 to $2200. Now it's a $50,000 watch depending on condition.
  7. Ahhhhhhhh, my favorite model. The Pre-Vendome 5218-202/A Marina Militare!
  8. Here's something you don't see every day. Check it out, bid, and help the Admins help us. Special Breitling RWG Auction
  9. Max, No se ve, can't see a thing. Try it again. Is it a Ti on bracelet, how much?
  10. Well, it's not really a recess, it's a matte finish around the subdial. This is an easy mod IMHO. It's almost impossible to capture in photo because of the ARC. Here's a pic of my PAM0003-B without ARC. It was still hard to get, but I think you can see what I mean.
  11. OK, I can get the movement out now. How do I get the dial/hands off? Also, the movement winds but doesn't stop, it just keeps clicking. Can I fix this?
  12. Listen to Sir, I recently removed my first HW mvt, it's simple. 5 screws then all you have to do is remove the dial/hands, which is my next trick.
  13. When all is said and done and the dust finally settles, my small loss may have saved others $531,250 (1250@$425). The odds are in our favor and I feel this will make everyone open their eyes and make us less open to the "people should expect to accept defective product" mindset.
  14. Well said TJ. It's an insult to us everytime a dealer send out a watch with such obvious problems, what.....where we not supposed to notice? But then again, what do they care, they don't pay for the shipping back to them. Here are more of my thoughts. Yes, I screwed up by ordering 5 watches in a clip, dumb move I now know. In my defense, he was highly talked about and the only dealer I know with Pre-V PAMs. My losses are others gain, we now know about DSN's QC problems and they are out in the open. There are now well over 5,000 views of posts regarding DSN problems, 2108 of this thread alone. Let's say 25% of those were potential unsatisfied customers, then we saved 1250 people from going through what we have. AT the end of the day, we did OK in my book.
  15. Latest Update It seems that Customs has seized my return, I'm waiting for the Post Office to confirm, but that's what I've been told. I've informed DSN about the situation and he's responded. He's offered to split the loss with me, that would put me out about $700US. Not a great outcome, but I could have been out the total. What burns me it that it would have never come to this if the watches would have been correct. The watches were returned for mechanical defects like DOA mvt, stripped screws, off centered crowns, and a lever I couldn't open. It's not like I didn't like the dial font or something, they were just unusable. DSN and some member have said I just set too high standards for a replice, maybe their right. I'd like to apologize for taking up so much space here to vent, but I thought anyone considering buying a DSN should know what's going on with his QC lately. I really don't see myself buying reps from dealers anytime soon, my 2 experiences (DSN and Josh) didn't go well. But funny enough, my 4 deals buying from members were perfect transactions. I guess I'll stick to Frankens and custom pieces for now, I hope I still have a place here. I guess it's time for me to learn how to work on watchs, maybe Kruzer will start a school or at least give me some pointers.
  16. Let's run with this guys! I'm in 100%, it's always been my favorite pieces.
  17. The thumbnail (Adrillion) buckles were standard on all handwind models from A to G series. These were later changed to the new Pre-V style. The 0 and 5 Logos were changed later during the H series. Handwind Model Buckles: Pre-A: 22mm sewn-in (24X22) A-Series: 22mm Adrillion (aka thumbnail) with two screws (24X22) very few were made of these A-F Series: Adrillion (aka thumbnail) with one screw (24X22) G Series on: Pre-V style (with screw) (24X22) PAM0000 and 0005 changed from Adrillion to Pre-V style in H Series.
  18. Claro que no si ............ ummmm, sorry. Still on the 2222 post. The case will quiet it down nicely. I just removed my first movement and noticed it right away. Happy 20 De Mayo.
  19. Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy, I fixed it!!!!!!! I figured it out with your guys help. I've never did this before. I took the clamp from another old watch and replaced the broken one. Then, I removed the complete movement from the old watch, just to see if I could do it. I amazed myself, even figured out what screw to loosen to remove the stem. I know you're wondering, WTF is wrong with him? Remember I'm new to tooling with watches. Now I know how you guys can feel about doing the work yourselves.
  20. Screws and clamps?! Ummmmmm, I know squat about the mechs of watches. I opened the watch because it wasn't running either. A small piece of metal fell out, now the thing runs but the movement is still loose. BTW, thanks for all the replies guys. My standards aren't high really. I know not to expect a 40K watch, just one that works well and LOOKS like a 40K watch. That's why I went with DSN Pre-V pieces. You pay as much for a DSN 1-A as you do for a 201/A and a gen 201/A is 6 times the price of a 1-A. Crazy I know, but I wanted to get some reps of Pre-Vs I really wanted, but couldn't see paying tens of thousands for.
  21. The movement in my 210/A is loose. There is now a large gap between the dial and crystal. I open it and push it back but it loosens again. Can I fix this?
  22. This is a SICK, SICK watch! My plan was to slip you a mickey and swipe the thing, but Lorraine would have given me up in a heartbeat. Don't forget you said I could have the 6mm Brevet crown.
  23. OK, I may have had problems with DSN, but maybe it's just me!? Just caught JoJo's 1-A and it's GREAT! flush CG, great dial, and really nice!
