I got Angus kevlar strap today from fishgodeep to see if I like it to order one.. First of all thank him very much and in public.
Well my feelings were divided.. First I didn;t liked the kevlar strap.. it is quite stiff and not very nice with my historics Pams..
Although I thought that the buckle could be huge and very uncomfortable to wear. I was wrong..
SO I decided to spend some time this morning and make 2 straps to fit the buckle.
I need you opinion if you think they look good on my 112 or not
First one is an Italian soft black strap with folded leather on the end to slip easily through the buckle.
The second one is the Greek hide single sided.. and unstitched to remind the Nato straps...
Both are extremely soft and comfortable to wear... I am listening to your opinions
I am glad that you liked it.. I have also put mine on the 112 and it looks really nice after some weeks having developed a patina.
Another PLUS is that it doesn't stains from water like most of the straps that develop a patina (PAV, XaMas, WW2 etc..)
Trust me I have worn it these days with the torrential rain here in UK.
For me the best watch from the ones you posted the last days.. The reluming is PERFECT and the movement makes it definately a keeper...
Have you tried it with leather straps or this is your heavy metal watch?
Nice mods to a watch that as you said it has so many differences from the Gen it seems in vain to try and mod it.
The strap is great and shows one more time that strap sellers must get either a decent camera or a good photographer to accurately present their straps. This strap in their photos seems more boring than in your photos.
Very nice watch this one as well.. I think that even with some minor flaws the Base Logo looks very very good for a rep and it is a big surprise why it hasn't sold many pieces. I don't usually see many photos of it.
The Europelli strap is very nice and expensive
I was never a fan of the Arktos but to be honest it is a very accurate rep and this strap makes it stand out from the regular rubber strap combos I always see it.
I like the strap very much but I am not sure how comfortable it will be and I do not want to risk 99$ just to try it.
Maybe you should send me yours to try it on, see how it feels and then order a new one
Brad, your strap has been dispatched 28 of June.. End of this week I think you will have it
The quote was general for vintage watches owners and not to you..
Thanks a lot my friend...
Working with this leather is extremely pleasant and not at all much time-consuming. The vintage waxed thread is also helping for the very parallel zig-zag stitching..
Again I have to say that this is by far the best hide I have ever seen for watch straps.
Yeap.. thanks a lot Rob.. Me too I am very glad I waited for the Big Bang because I just couldn't justify that much money when a FERRARI 1:1 super rep (008) is made as good as the genuine and costs 50% of the big bang.
The dial text is almost always a give away on historic Pams... PLUS the pin on the cg is sitting so flush and perfect no rep till date has ever achieved this.
Of course they are so many other details determining those two are gen but those two are my first observations.
If you like a lot the SUperocean (if it is a watch that will never leave your collection) than do the superlume..
If it is so and so.. get the Carrera.. You might like it better than the Superocean.
I can make a nice vintage strap stitched into the watch.. Problem is that the owners must send me the watch.. and if not in Europe it might be a risk...
