Sounds like you handled the situation very well and helped get a couple dirtbags off the street (at least hopefully for a little while). Hope the damage to your truck isn't too bad.
That's a keeper! I'm thinking about doing the same thing with mine. BTW those UPO links are on the way to you. It took me a little longer to find them than I though it would.
Can't wait to see all these new 028 projects when completed. I missed the boat on the limited supply that came up but that's ok as I may have a fully modded one in the works.
The Skyland is one I'm waiting for as well. Also a ceramic GMT and maybe a Ocean Racer strap for the SOH. I just can't bring myself to spend $350 for a strap and deployment clasp.
Hmm I'm still trying to figure out exactly which one I need to do a 7753 project. I scooped a Hamilton Aviation Chrono out of a pawnshop for $400. A steal for that watch with that movement. I almost hate to pull the mvt out as it's a nice gen watch but man 7753's are getting hard to find and pricey. What version exactly does everyone use for the 7753 based ones? From looking at the pics a few posts up a PVD'd Daylight does look pretty cool.
Yeah Poopy I think your project is a very cool sounding one but please don't use an old case 196 for this as they are realy tuff to find. I'm dying to get my hands on one for a 7753 project. Already have a 7753 sitting here for it and everything. Is it in decent shape and a candidate for a 7753 swap? I'd give you my newer version one to use.
Man I don't have a clue as to the value of this one. Had a chance to get a Fu case from V a while back for $200 but passed on it. Wished that I hadn't though. Think I know of the one that you are looking at though.
Some good points made here by everyone. I'm curious to see that the finished BB King is going to end up looking like. This it was posted as a prototype so I'm sure it's a bit rough. Have waited for a King to be releshed for a while. Will be curious to see what the pricing ends up being on this one.
Fantastic looking collection. Love that box. I was lucky enoughy to get one of them as well from promotersf. I've have to try to post up some pics of my box and collection as well. Curious to see what ends up filling that empty spot.
Thanks for the report Dave. Glad you had a great trip to China. I haven't ordered from Angus yet as I've managed to find just about everything I've wanted from members but there are a couple that I want that I'll probably order from him. Can't wait to see some pics of the 7753 Santos. I'll be curious to see what get released in the next couple of months. Hoping that Skyland and ceramic GMT are in the works.
If I'm not mistaken the first link shows a 2893-3 which wouldn't work for the PAM GMT. 2893-3 use a GMT wheel on the dial instead of a GMT hand. I think an example of this would be the Hamilton Navy GMT if you want to see what I mean. The movement that you'll want is the 2893-2 which does use a GMT hand. There are actually a couple lower to mid priced gens out there that you can find on the used market and use as donor watches. You'll just need to do a little research to find out which ones use the 2893-2. Some of them popup on TZ or the bay from time to time.
