That is one nice looking watch. I would wear that anyday, and great to hear how you came by it. Well done. Where in Oz. are you, only , I only get a card saying that an item was un-deliverable, then I have to go to the local PO. to pick it up. No phone call, or re-delivery. Good service too.

You may have been better off with a gen. case, as the quality of the steel would have been better. We dont know what kind of impurities get thrown into Chinese melting pots, hence QC. ( or lack of ). Dont ever let it put you off, tapping something again, as they say , "[censored] happens ". Also , better to be born lucky , than rich. ( at least with reps. anyway. )

Put it down to bad or poor heat treatment of the tap, it does happen. Glad you managed to get the broken piece out, ------ ANYONE can break a tap, its what one is able to do when it happens.

Even $30 taps can easily break, when in the wrong hands. There is nothing wrong with cheaper tools , it depends on the application and the user. Cutting oil must allways be used, even on brass and aluminium.

Well from me, I and myself here, I would say yes.

One I sent back to Andrew, A$ 23, registered airmail took 9 days to arrive. Sent back airmail, China to Melbourne 10 days. Total time inc. fixing, 24 days. Declared as "Fashion accessory".

Looks identical to me, ( mine is SOSF swiss ETA ) apart from the movement, Good price considering the Swiss ETA is $358 shipped.

Strange isn`t it. Its like one gets a sound and a feeling, which then goes straight to the brain for storage. A stranger tooth test is for a Balata golf ball. Balata seems to give a rubbery softness, that only a tooth can understand. Nothing to do with rep watches, and ones own teeth are needed.

Wow, thats certainly a different arrangement attached to the crown and pusher. If that thing ever got caught on something, it would RIP your whole arm off.

Just got my new Yaghtmaster back from Andrew, ( Swiss ETA ) after having to return it , as the crown pulled out from the case. Dont know if the members want repeats of all these reps? I suppose we all have different experiences to share about them. At least it gives an indication of just where any differences lie from earlier models. The "return" on the G in Yaghtmaster to me is a little short. The "G" in the second pic. has had a touch of the clone stamp. I mean you really have to view it through a loupe or macro pic. Also the numbers on the bezel go right to the edge, whereas the gen has a small fraction of space btween the edge. The gen numbers have a more rounded or slightly curved look to them.

So your first Breitling, you are now hooked I think. Great watch the Navitimer. The crystal certainly won`t take any heavy knocks, so best to be aware when you are wearing it. I know this will sound strange, but if you touch the crystal with your front tooth and tap your tooth on it, you will definately know if its plexi or not , the feel is something you wont forget, when comparing to plastic. ( try it, im not mad !! )

I took 3 more pics and measured a gen. and a rep. flip clasp. Gen. 0.032" Rep. 0.029" ( this was after metal removal ) { thickness of flip } So the rep. would have been the exact same thickness before any mod. The gen. is the tt bracelet. Also stainless steel used in this application is very strong, even though it appears a tad flimsy. Have just noticed the press tool break line on the edge of the flip. So if you want to go the whole way, gently sand this break line away, and finish with a polish. ( as is on a gen. ) Thanks for the feedback.
