  1. PM sent. Congrats. on 1000.
  2. Could someone at least tell me the size of their dial.
  3. If someone could do a tutorial on layers etc. for photoshop, in an easy to understand format, in the photography section. Im sure it would go down exeedingly well with the members, and would benefit everyone, with clearer pics. The existing information by some of our other members is easy to understand and brilliant in content.
  4. sorry, I cant get my head around what you are attempting to say. It still looks like a TOTALLY nice rep to me.
  5. Interesting site. Some watches there I would be seriously interested in, too bad it isnt on the level. Why is it that our collectors here dont have some "different" stuff like this"? ( Please dont someone say that it isnt popular, Pams and similar do nothing for me ) thanks Vic for the insight anyway.
  6. MOVEMENT: Swiss ETA Movement 2824-2 CASE DIAMETER: 44mm THICKNESS: 10mm DIAL COLOR: White Dial CASE MATERIAL: Stainless Steel 316L coupled wth 14K... Non- Chrono. Received the above watch. Quite a number of members in the past, have commented on its size ( Large ). At 44 mm. I am unsure to where the measurement applies. Could someone please tell me . Is it the overall dimension of the case? My actual dial measurement is approx. 25 mm. ( the size of the crystal ) Also this is not a screw down crown , correct ?? Could this be the mid-size model? as it certainly doesnt look overly large on my wrist ( 7 " ) and I aint no big fella. I read back that there has been a couple of attempts to make a correct dial for this model,( Haley/ rocket ) Have these attempts come to anything? Cheers.
  7. Just received a copy of The Breguet Collections. A 237 page , hard bound book!! ( free by filling in the brochure request ) It was water damaged on 1 corner throughout, but not enough to affect the great pics. Wonder if they have any water damaged watches, that they cant use? Get those cufflinks with the rotating "B"
  8. Cheers for the comments, When not a lot is known about something like this, these little pieces of info start to build a better picture. Btw , specialvat , Great avatar. ( a real bit of style.)
  9. Is the strap a buckle or a deployant? Only I am looking for something to compare mine with, (deployant) Certainly looks a different watch on a strap.
  10. Could anyone possibly make an informed comment as to whether this Breitling ss. clasp is gen or rep. I got it along with my gen bce a few years back, and it came with no packaging. Maybe someone out there has something to compare it to. Many thanks.
  11. Do you have an anti shake setting and timer (2 sec.) on your camera? These will certainly help you.
  12. Pleased for your excitement and anticipation. You could do a lot worse than this hobby. Good luck.
  13. Thanks for that, I hadnt considered the stem in the case, or for that matter the cg clearance with the crown. Still there might be just enough clearance for the offending error.
  14. Degrees, minutes , seconds. 360 degrees to a circle Each degree is split into 60 minutes. Each minute is split into 60 seconds. 30 minutes is 1/2 of 1 degree. Not much I admit, but it can be seen.
  15. Presentation, Marketing, you couldnt slide a razor blade between the two for a difference. The bottom line is all these products are artificially enhanced to promote their so called highlights. I agree that Display is a better term. ( even if falsely displayed). Simple , deceitful ways to part you from your hard earned. Call it what you may, its still a con.
  16. Interesting to see, just how a topic can become so far off thread ,from the original post. (Think it is termed highjacking) So no one can answer the original questions posted?
  17. The same method is used to display MEAT, in the supermarket, or butchers shop. Its called MARKETING.
  18. This is a thread started approx. 31/2 months ago. So it would appear that the serial nos. are continuing on. Swiss ETA. 896443.
  19. NOTHING can be concealed from an X-ray machine. All parcels and packages into Australia are x-rayed. All passenger baggage coming in to airports is x-rayed Consider it a concession if any watch gets through. Usually all goods into Australia, for personnel use, under A$1000, are exempt from taxes and GST.
  20. This one was from Andrew. 6 days from ordering to receiving, China to Australia. Flawless transaction. Emails answered in minutes, etc. etc.

    ..

I think that you may have to limit yourselves to 1 case of Dom Perignian, 1 case French wine, per week. Go easy on the caviar, pheasant, Cognac, Frogs legs, Snails, dishes cooked in wine/garlic/herbs etc. Other than that go for it, you only live once. (That I know of anyway). Nothing ventured , nothing gained.
  22. Yes, its been photographed and talked about to death, so please indulge me. I finally got my Superocean Steelfish, Swiss ETA ,today, do I like it, NO. I LOVE IT. It really is my best to date, and thanks to all you guys for all the info. on this model. The next pic is of the clasp. (rep) How they got the recess and the dimple so far off, beats me. The opposite side is spot on. This is a gen. clasp end. (pilot bracelet) Lume looks pretty good and bright to me. The 10 and 2 are a tad off centre The 6 numeral has had a finger wipe, before assembly, as with the date box. The crown, when un-screwed, feels a litttle wobbly. Has anyone had or found this before? The dial in the case is about 30 minutes offline, ( from the 12 rider) Does anyone know if there is any adjustment, with the movement securing screws, (internally)? Bracelet pretty easy to size, although some swarf was found on the screw threads, (these screws would be easy to strip with the amount of swarf found ). All in all, I like it, it feels a pretty substantial watch, and the wearer certainly knows it is there. The above comments are what I saw, ( not nit picking).
  23. Thats what this life is about, hope you enjoy. Thanks for all the information, detailed pics and findings make all this so much more enjoyable and informative.

If that is , What about this ? China: 100,000 pairs of used chopsticks sold without disinfection every day Posted by chinaview on August 22, 2007 Reuters, Wed Aug 22, 2007- BEIJING (Reuters) - A Beijing factory recycled used chopsticks and sold up to 100,000 pairs a day without any form of disinfection, a newspaper said on Wednesday, the latest is a string of food and product safety scares. Counterfeit, shoddy and dangerous products are widespread in China, whose exports have been rocked in recent months by a spate of safety scandals, ranging from pet food to medicine, tires, toothpaste and toys. Officials raided the factory and seized about half a million pairs of recycled disposable bamboo chopsticks and a packaging machine, the Beijing News said. The owner, identified only by his surname Wu, said he had sold the recycled chopsticks for 0.04 yuan a pair and made an average of about 1,000 yuan ($130) a day. Wu, who had no license to sell the goods, said he had sold 100,000 pairs a day when business was good. China, on track to overtake the United States this year as the world
