  1. Thanks Rob.. I think I have found the problem. One of the feet look striped, so even if I screw correctly, it won't lock.. It was probably done by my stupidity.. What are the fix for that? can I use a bit of glue or I have to get a new dial because of that (argg) Thanks
  2. Hi, Finally finished assembling my eta 6497 with H3 and everything look to work well (I stripped the movement completely, cleaned then reassembled) Today, I received parts from Davidsen to complete the watch (Dial, hands, case, crystal etc..) So, the first thing I tried to do today was to install the dial. I place the hour wheel correctly (from H3 kit), then align the dial feets with the holes. Here is my problem. How do I secure the dial in place ? There is 2 screws there that can rotate infinitely.. The tutorial I was fallowing (TZ) explain with ETA claps, not screws.. Also, there is a gap between the dial and movement. If I press a bit to remove that space, the movement refuse to work anymore. Removing the dial and the movement start again I guess there is too much pressure on the minutes and hour hands ? How much space is supposed to have there ? Quite frustrating, after dissembling and reassembling the movement, my first real problem is about a stupid thing like that Thanks for help
  3. Davidsen Hands are wider to be fitted on an H3 pinion., won't fit on H1
  4. is it me or the "Super rep" words are starting to be as useful as "A+++ Rep"
  5. yea they do. My Lite Black magic is like that, but really need AR Nice Ice Bang you got there.
  6. I second for the TZ courses.. Just finished the first and ordering the other kit next week. (first one was too easy ) I also ordered an A7750 for practicing, but I won't try if before a while. Contact Offshore for the course material and cd, then order tools and have fun
  7. Weren't you afraid of 7750 few months ago ? Great collection Pix and great pictures.
  8. Speedmaster is actually what I had in mind too. Omega DeVille TT would be great too.
  9. Know how you feel. I lost my dog last year after 17 years in the family. House is quite empty since..
  10. After few research, look like some site recommend 184-pin Rambus, but the Intel specs sheets say it's 168-pin.. Hard to say.. But one thing is sure, 168 will not fit 184 and 184 will not fit 168.. And most of the site that says 184 are OEM makers, not intel. Will stick with my idea, you need 168pin, which cost a lot and is nearly impossible to find over 256mb module. (even if your board can takes 2Gb) And forget my idea of changing motherboard. You have a very first Pentium 4 (which was nearly slower than Pentium 3 ) with Socket 423 and all DDR board are mostly Socket 478. You would have to change the cpu too. Don't invest too much in it is my advice.
  11. Rambus is very hard to find and very expensive.. You will have hard time to find more tha 256mb, so if your target is to get 2Gb, you will have to change the motherboard too, it will cost you less. "What's the difference in 168 / 184-pin?" Nomber of connector, maybe voltage too.. One will not fit the other.
  12. OMG I love it !
  13. Thanks The Zigmeister for the great explanation. Quick question; the Pallet looks to be the biggest problem of the new version (beside the bad oiling) Is it possible to swap it with ETA part or you have to fix it ? if so, how ?
  14. that will sell for a lot.. with all the great rep around, someone will get fooled in a few fews
  15. Glad I got my BlackMagic for $350 ems shipped/pped with custom strap then : ) I don't want to be an ass, I just say it's completly unjustified that they are asking so much for the """""better"""""" version when you can have one as good with the light version, whith have a $50 AR job missing and in some case a VERY overpriced ceramic bezel. That is still $600 vs $1000 for the same thing.
  16. He is right.. Disassembled one this week, it looks just like that.
  17. Selling Asian 7750 28.8k for the price of an ETA.. sound logical How about the "lite" version which have the 28.8k and sell for less than $280 a bit everywhere ?
  18. Agreed Screws of the strap were tight (but Angus changed the strap for me, so it doesn't count )
  19. do your own.. Get a screwdriver of the good size and use a dremel to make a dent in the center. I did it, it's simple and all screws were loose on mine.
  20. ohhh.. I knew I didn't get it right.. good thing I asked before doing it. Thanks a lot for this great answer !
  21. For SSL, you need a certificate ($$) and a dedicated IP ($$) As said, don't waste your time with free ISP.. try to get a VPS, or then forget the automatic CC payment.
  22. Do you have a pic ? I might have what you need. (but I have a TT bracelet)
  23. Hi I have been desassembling my swiss ETA 6497 tonight and when I came to the Incabloc, I had no idea how to remove the cap jewel under it. The tutorial I was fallowing refer to a lever that look like a U where the bottom part act like a hinge, but on the ETA 6497, the system is completely different. Here is a picture of the part. (cut and paste url) hxxp://www.tztoolshop.com/images/eta6497-1novadiac.jpg How does it work? How to I remove that ? Thanks
  24. Yea I love the Black Magic.. just got it last Friday... Now if Only the damn rubber strap could soften a bit so the claps don't hurt me like hell when I wear it
