  1. Here's the pictures of about every rep I had my hand on. Omega SMP, 3 years old. Vacheron Constantin (sadly gave to a friend) Omega Bread Arrow (No Automatic marking on the dial) Tag Heuer AquaRacer (Sold to Pix, which sold it to unknown ) Breitling Navitimer TT Breitling BCE TT Hublot Black Magic Lite with Ice Bang strap Custom Panerai Homer Tourbillon Gicci (gave to a """friend""") Cartier (gave to mom) And this is my current watchbox.. I try to keep a small collection (it's so hard !! )
  2. Hand size are the same, ut you will have the problem with the 3-6-9 disposition. (will have to use asian parts)
  3. Moneybooker work just like Paypal, but the fees are lower. It's also more secure for the seller.
  4. Most Gen HBB don't have black screw on the movement.. so... Old Gen HBB, or rep.
  5. nice info here. thanks
  6. makes you wonder what is the markup on those watches...
  7. beside the 2 that look like the Ice bang, I don't like them much..
  8. What is a job ? I'v been self-employed for 8 years now. (In IT too) Being my own boss, I offer myself some great watch
  9. I kinda like those new Omega, but a BCE is a bust have in a collection.
  10. I recieved the kit 1 this morning. I ordered a Presto hand remover and Bergeron hand setter as extra. I think it worth the price. I took the 6497 version, just the movement, not the pocket watch.. will fit it in a panerai case later. The most expensive "tool" in the kit are the screwdrivers and I was trying to find a cheaper way to get them, but in the end I'm very pleased. Those screwdrivers are insanely well made. Choose the movement you want and take the kit. I also got the course from Offshore and the 7750 cd, which is really well made (thanks The Zigmeister
  11. I hope you never accidentally start the chrono, or you will have hard time to reset it
  12. Manual Omega Speedmasters (Moonwatch or Broad Arrow) are great watches too. Hard to find now..
  13. If it's a screw crown, unscrew it by rotating the crown counter-clockwise. Once the crown is loose, give it a good 40-50 turn clockwise to wind it and shake it just a bit to start it. (Look at the subdial at 9, the second hand is there) If you pull the crown one notch, you will be able to set the date, but don't start with that. Pull the crown completely and start adjusting the time. Make a full 12h turn and notice when the date is changing. This will tell you your 24h. Adjust the time correctly (try to always go clockwise if possible). Once the time is set, put back the crown one notch to set the date. NEVER EVER set the date between 22h and 2h (10PM / 2AM) or you will damage the movement. Clockwise you set the date and c-clockwise the day. Once the date is set, put back the crown and screw it (if needed) Wear it well. As for the chrono. Start with the button at 3, STOP with the same button (always stop, don't try the reset button before) then reset with the one at 5. If possible, try to reset when the second hand is near the 60 marker. Not needed, but prevent hand from slipping
  14. I ask them why they think it is and confest if the reason is good. Most of the time they say something stupid like: "It's a rep, the second hand isn't even moving" while looking at one of my chrono
  15. accept shipped item ? PM me please.
  16. The problem with the ratings is one day a dealer is great and the other he is to avoid. TTK, Paul or recently TWP are few example. Or even the Josh/Andrew storm few months ago.
  17. Registered to Canada is 21-30 days, not 9. If Jay have the watch, he ship quite fast. But what I hate is you can't know if the watch is actually available or not. When I ordered from him, I asked BEFORE if the watch was available. He said yes, no problem. I paid, then oups, the watch wasn't available anymore. Had to wait near a month and in the end he sent me a slicely different version of it (after offering it to me, he didn't shipped something I didn't want). So Overall a good guy, but I hate how he deal with "potential buyer"... Most of the sellers are like that anyway.
  18. it feel like a Navi, but a bit heavier. (I have both) Don't look big at all.
  19. Would be my choice !
  20. I have one which is dead (arrived dead, never tried to fix it) I find it very cheaply made, cheap look and feel replica. I would stay away. Look silix watch (not prime) he should be able to source you that watch under $100.
  21. yea reverse ring work great too. Still, I would give a shot to the macro filter
  22. I have this one.. It's a "good" telephoto, but don't get it for Macro. It's not made for it and it's only working at the very far of the zoom. 220-300mm, which with the conversion make it over 400mm. You have to stay over 1 meter of your subject. Look for something in the 50 or 120mm range FIXED lens (no zoom) They will run for $300 to $xxxx Or, if you are a bit tight on the budget, you could get the macro filter that you add in front of a lens. Hoya makes a kit. They call that "Close-up Macro Filter" and a kit of 3 should cost you about $50 on thebay Pros: Price and incredible closeup you will be able to have. (you can take a full image of a penny without even using all the filters) Cons: each filter you add, you loose light. The image also get deformation in the corners of the images. The Deep of field is VERY narrow. I have those lens for my Canon S3 ans they give me impressive result. I have that 70-300mm lens for my Nikon D70 and I have an old 55mm Nikkor Macro lens for it too. My Canon with filter offer the best result, if the light conditions are good. I tried the filter on my Nikon 18-200mm with good result too
  23. The price of the movement is about $75 from ETA.. Since most Quartz at $120 and less use a $10 movement... Anyway, $340 is way too expensive for a Quartz Rep. (I think the most expensive was the Chanel at that price, but it was full ceramic !)
  24. look great ! Congrats ! mine is in the mail.. will send the crystal for AR later this summer.. waiting waiting..
