great deal! i cant comprehend why dealers charge $20-30 for a buckle and now only $15 for a deployment???? great deal...... i have enough rubber straps in my drawer to melt down and make a new set of tires for my truck so i don't have any use for it though.
O has a thick purple tint double sided. (i own a gen) VC overseas has a double purple tint similar to the O (double per the brochure and purple tint from seeing the gen on my wrist)
rob where do you get parts? ofrei is really the only site i can find worthwhile but they are a$$h01es just by thier comments about e-mail inquiries and stock checks cost $20 ect..... what the hell is wrong with those guys? cranky old bastards.....
i bet the case clamps have fallen off. this should be an easy fix. could have fallen into the escapement stopping the watch entirely. it's a five minute fix. if you cannot figure it out i'd be glad to fix it for you for no charge just return postage. pm me if you need the help.
of all the bracelet mods i've done on the 1:1 VCO, 9 out of 10 have bad endlink screws. they are actually too small and will strip easily! the good news is that the screws strip, not the endlink threads! thanks cheiftang for finding these. now we can get your watch totally dialed in.
try getting a used get from timezone. i learned to buy all gen watches used so if you don't like them...you can sell for what you paid. fast too! 99% of the members there selling are very honest and good to deal with. i got 3 omegas there and some others too. cheap
it's very calming and enjoyable for me to work on the unitas movement.....so simple and a great design. i service mine myself before i wear them and complete all the mods at the same time. the 249 can use a relume but not much else as far as mods go.
i got it from sash. he's a new dealer here and i can very highly reccomend him. he's great to deal with and he gave me a better price than even paul. shoot him an e-mail he will respond very quickly and hand inspect your watch before shipping out.
i used to remove the keytless works cover and all the gears so i did not press the cannon pin misaligned and damage the minute wheel. i found a simple way to skip this step and not damage the gears. just get the cannon alligned on your press, reinsert the stem and press very gently while turning the crown. you can allign the minute wheel and get the gears to mesh perfectly before pressing on the cannon pin! once the cannon pin turns with the minute wheel it's meshed. then back the crown up a tiny bit to create enough slack to press the cannon pin on. really easy and saves alot of time without any risk whatsoever of damage to the minute wheel.
i popped all mine out and craytonics as well tonight. 5 ready to go. i'll get chieftangs out as soon as it arrives as well. we should be just about there.
just recieved today from brandon (sash)
gave the movement a full service right away like i always do and added a nice gator strap. already a tall cannon pin installed.
