Agreed on the dremeling. I did a pretty nice job getting that nice moon sliver H taper on a CG for my Rex- FGD 202a but I paniced on the last bit and sent it to Rex to finish off. In any event what a beautiful job!!!

Sent my friend who lives in Arlington Heights over to his shop. Said he couldn't have been cooler to deal with. Pretty cool to be able to walk in a spend time in a favorite modders shop.

Couldn't disagree more with the comments above. This isn't some sort of civil war. I would like to see more of a coming together of both terrific sites. I have been fortunate to have Vac, Rex and Flav do beautiful work for me. You have received plenty of nice recommendations as deserved on RG and have done work for a number of Geeks. I see you great modders as doctors, you have to have a level of trust and comfort level with that person as well as of course a level of respect for the work. And as I said i have it on very good authority that Rex may have a fully modded LH with Gen parts in stock. I think we are lucky to have a number of terrific artistic modders between the two sites

Far be it for me to disagree but as someone who owned a LH with T crown, V CG, Rex Lume and movement regulation, I must cite the following. The LH lume is weak, the hands he uses are rather crappy (Rex prefers to swap them with a more sturdy set of hands and relume them), The crown is ok, but a T crown is much better, the Crown guard looks fabulous but everyone says it is very floppy when open so that will need a mod as well, the most important mod with the LH's is movement regulation as Rex has seen a number of the LH movements that run in a very very dodgy manner. So even a brand new Beautiful LH will need some mods. Your best bet is to find one pre owned with all the last best mods. The first thing you my want to do is PM Rex and ask him if he has one for sale. I have it on pretty good authority that he does and it has every possible mod and may have some genuine parts on it

Ok unless I'm completely brain dead from this ridiculous Cali heat and whatever is in the air here that makes most of it's residents vapid, shallow, morons, I'd say it's the same dial that rests in my brand new Swiss 188, crown looks different, either you popped in a palp or a gen. case looks a bit worn in so I would imagine it is the more sought after old school EL case. Since i know Leo hasn't made his new 7753 wheels yet (As Bollo, Sylar and myself are recieving the first inaugrial perfected 7753 wheels) I'd say it's a nice lello So: new 188 7753 dial- same as mine Old school case lello or gen date wheel Palp or gen crown do I win a prize????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Looks awesome love my swiss 188, but I'm looking at mine and perhaps my eyes aren't well trained to my new watch yet, but what are the differences in the dials?

Zig May I ask where you sourced the case?? I have a proper old school Davidson Pre V case for my FGD 202a but I can't seem to find another for my future 201a project

Zig Interesting on the lever pins. Have you ever used heat shrink or wire insulator tubing around the pin or does the new larger pin solve the open floppiness problem? I have done a couple CG's for a friend and used gorillia glue. I let the glue in the lever hole dry to a slight tackiness and then push the lever through as the gorilla glue dries to a hard epoxy. The results leave the lever as tight as a V (open or closed) and seems to be more perminant than the hot glue method. And Amen on FGD!!!, not only is he a true gentlemen but his gorgeous dials are simply stupifying!!!

Yup as someone who had a similarly supermodded LH as the one you had, I have found that my FGD 202a means more to me than it ever did Love the FGD

I thought as much. I miss my modded V CG. The V pin is set with a tiny heat shrink-wire insulator tube as per the gen. Flav will lume and refinish dials if you send him the dial only. he also does beautiful work for Ygg. Unless of course you have a favor bank

T How did you have the LH lever pin tightened with heat shrink tubing or glue? Or is it nice an tight like a V out of the box?
