b16a2 Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 They've just listed these on PC. Not sure why they have used an open case back though http://www.jpc8118.com/0013c-p-7144.html
P4GTR Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I used to be so excited to see this repped. But with the mechanical turd in the back... Looks like what I used to see my buddys come back from NY with. Meh.. If they do a grey dial and make it CHEAP I'll buy one.
Mickey Padge Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I like the bracelet, but where is the silver dial version already?!
b16a2 Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 Im also eagerly anticipating the silver one, I hope they get the finish of the dial right! Really hope they fix the open caseback too, that's not something that we can mod ourselves
Mickey Padge Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 This is the one we want! If it can be made with the solid case back and steel bracelet, it will sell by the bucket load!
FxrAndy Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 micky are those markers black or dark flame blued?
Mickey Padge Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 micky are those markers black or dark flame blued? Not sure, I found the pictures from an ebay sale, they look very dark blue to me I thought there was a forum member with a genuine of this exact watch, but I can't find the thread anywhere......
P4GTR Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I can't find the thread anywhere...... Since the upgrade I couldn't find my own ___ if you gave me a map and a guide, don't feel bad. The gen was RobbieG's!
ubiquitous Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 This is the one we want! I think b16a actually has that one (gen too)... The gen was RobbieG's! RobbieG too!
ironmarshal Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I'm in for the rhodium as well. I'm also kicking around the idea of the black dial (either dimpled or black surf) with rose gold. I must admit, I'm really disappointed they didn't do these with the Seagull movements. Would have been much easier and you'd have a proven, reliable, accurate movement.
fotoman Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 we got ourselves a full fledged Nardin-off i also heard a rumor about a "swiss" version of some of therse models coming with swiss movment and better AR - basically like they did with the steelfish
b16a2 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 Not sure, I found the pictures from an ebay sale, they look very dark blue to me I thought there was a forum member with a genuine of this exact watch, but I can't find the thread anywhere...... It was me I want to post some pictures, but the people in the know at Photobucket have said I have exceeded my bandwidth until later this week The markers and hands are indeed blue, similar to the IWC Porto blue hands and numerals.
FxrAndy Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 So the white dial is not the Rhodium one that Laz and Robby had, damn, So is it worth waiting for the ultimate, the price on these to bedin with is about $188 for the Blue surf, hmmmm wait or not????????
cskent69 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 They've just listed these on PC. Not sure why they have used an open case back though http://www.jpc8118.com/0013c-p-7144.html Hour surrounds look a little thick and the dw is obviously low. I like it though. I will pick it up when they fix the caseback.
cskent69 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Oh - one last thing. The serial number on the side should be silver on these - versus gold/bronze on the surf, i think.
Toadtorrent Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I think the white looks good. I don't know if the blue is too light or not, but I think it looks nice. The caseback I'm not so worried about, in terms of accuracy. Remember folks, this is a $188 watch!! It's not a $300+ a7750 "super" or "less than super" rep. It's not much more than an el-cheapo Rolex 1675. How many people even know what Ulysse Nardin is outside of RobbieG? How many have seen one and handled one to know about the bronze vs. silver badge, or which have blue rotors and a display back vs. solid back?
FxrAndy Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 In agreement there the white looks good, and even the movement decoration is Ok for the price, just wish it was the Rhodium
Toadtorrent Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Here's RobbieG's original post: Gen MMD Pictorial If you look at this pic, the hands look dark: ...but if you look at this one, you can see the colour is actually pretty close on the rep...as has been said many times in the past, it's all about the lighting: ...and the solid caseback and silver badge: After looking at RobbieG's, I might spring for this one if it comes out in the silver dial. For a $188 rep, I still think it's pretty nice.
Corgi Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I've pretty much given up on reps but this is the first one to get me excited in quite a while. If they make an affordable silver dial version I might consider getting one from Narikaa. Might.
robertk Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 For $188 this is damn good. I remember when that bought us a lot worse. This is one beautiful watch. I've just ordered the blue surf and had them put on the bracelet. I just love that look. I actually saw the blue surf with a bracelet at an AD even though it doesn't come that way from the factory. As for the caseback, I recommend wearing it right side up!
1976 Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 I saw the gen gold version on youtube and it had an open case back,is it only for the gold one or for the steel one too. After all grate rep and i ordered one.
