Pugwash Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 What about the Franck Muller Crazy Hours Colon Dreams?
relaxman Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Sounds even better in a german accent glashitte. I believe Ive had that vintage before,
www_watch Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Maybe not THAT funny.... But IMO "SWILZERLAND" on the Bentley casebacks should at least make it into the TOP 10.
hottoddy Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 I always liked "SHITNERLAND" or "[censored] IN HER HAND" as those reps are affectionately known.
archibald Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 I always liked "SHITNERLAND" or "[censored] IN HER HAND" as those reps are affectionately known. Pugwash already beat me to the "Crazy Colon Dreams" which I proudly own. Those were the days. It's damn tough to find decent misspelling outside of my posts anymore. I remember when a single trip to the offers section would give you a choice between Officne, Automatc, Poascre, Galena, seanaster, and Polex.
chrgod Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 I found this one on Timezone. Seems like the artist has taken the instructions "Breitling, on bridge" a bit too serious: There are a couple of really "charming" mistakes out there... The infamous RWG1 watch with "LimitEd Edition" and Breitling Navitimer Fighters "with Messers1477" are some of them.. I have even seen a "Sunmariner" some time ago!
r11co Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 What about the Panerai Luminor DayUght?
Bodo Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 The best was the inside of a back lid saying monarch polex gelena shitinerand It´s great ´cause it´s inside and only you know. When you open a Roll-Rep it´s laugh or cry anyway
coolfire Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 The best was the inside of a back lid saying monarch polex gelena shitinerand It´s great ´cause it´s inside and only you know. When you open a Roll-Rep it´s laugh or cry anyway Ah... MBWs...
frankt Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 The best was the inside of a back lid saying monarch polex gelena shitinerand I have an EX1 so marked...and I'll never sell THAT one!!!...A true classic...Thanks Sichuan!!!...
chrgod Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 (edited) Here are a couple of other weird Rollie casebacks: The Double red Sea-Dweller "Robot Watch": The Daytona, with "Winner" and "Original gas escape valve" Edited September 4, 2006 by chrgod
crystalcranium Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I found this one on Timezone. On the topic of Chinese translation errors, I buy a good deal of my woodworking equipment from Taiwan and China. Some of the instruction booklets can be quite amusing. One quote I remember was "To adjust table height, loosen this screw" They translated it as "To adjust table height, loosen this fuc*"
gran Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 The "R10" and "Lonnon" seen sometimes on world time watches are among my favorites
r11co Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 The new Ferrari watches are 'EngineoYod by Officine Panerai'.
jonthebhoy Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Someone once told me that they saw "Ralgex" on the back of one. I explained that it made sense...........as you'd need the bloody stuff to rub on your jaws as they'd be so sore from laughing. JTB
mattk Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 catibre vs. calibre on the tag heuer link
southcoast68 Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 As once seen on Ebay..................
Antonio Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I like TTK's Breitling "Chronomerer". http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10942 Engrish is a wonderful thing. Anyone else here been to engrish.com?
elwopo Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 The best was the inside of a back lid saying monarch polex gelena shitinerand This one is not a thing of the past. I opened my new case lid just yesterday and saw this.
Chronus Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) With Chinese translations, a friend lent me a pirate (Chinese) copy of the Charlize Theron movie "Monster". This was before it was officially released on DVD, and they'd put together their own cover, and had the blurb "Absolutely Hilarious" - for those that don't know, it is a very serious movie. Maybe it was referring to the English subtitles which looked like it was translated from Chinese to pidgin Engrish! Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Edited September 21, 2006 by Chronus
