davidk
Okay members, I got my 16613 from Watchmaker9. I ordered middle of August and it got here yesterday. What was interesting is that he shipped it overnight from Taiwan. The tracking info states it left Taiwan Aug 30, and arrived in the USA on Aug 31. To me it screams fake. The bezel insert sucks, and I had a OEM one to replace it with (which you will see in one of the picture) The Oyster Perpetual font is too thick, and the date font sucks as well. The M's in Chronometer and 300m DO NOT line up. The swiss made is slightly to the left. The crown is a noticeably different color than the bezel. The one o clock marker is different from the rest (it has a thicker metal circle) The dial has the purpleish tint to it, but did not really show up in the pics. There is a sharp edge on the end link, which leads me to believe it is plated. I took a pic of that as well, but it doesn't show up well. The only thing i like about it is the rehaut, and the lume was halfway decent as well. Also its supposed to be waterproof, but I am not taking the wrapping off, so no testing that. To member Kevin300Z.. You stated in a thread that this would be like Luckyyy's... you were DEAD WRONG! Okay EXPERTS! Rip it a new one! http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01986.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01987.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01988.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01989.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01991.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01992.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01993.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01995.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01997.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01998.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC01999.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC02001.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC02002.jpg http://www.rtoforum.com/bluesub/DSC02005.jpg Edited September 6, 2006 by davidk
fitmic
Holy crap! I am truly sorry to say this, but that watch is ugly as f*ck! Look at the 12 o clock marker. It is misaligned. Edited September 6, 2006 by fitmic
sonystyle
Too bad on your purchase. You could always try to sell it for $300-400 or something so you only have a $300 loss versus $600... There is a richness to the tt sub which cant easily be copied, I hate the purple tint you mentioned on most reps..

I hope you can work it out with the dealer amicably... In fact thats why I try to keep any rep purchase of mine under 200-300USD, so if worse comes to worse I can deal with the loss... But for $600 youd think the dealer would personally inspect the watch on your behalf before shipping it out...thats why the last TTK post was great, I didnt know he personally inspected each watch, that alone is an excellent service and would avoid a situation like yours maybe...still keeping in mind it is just a rep... TJGladeRaider
Did I hear the forbidden word "chargeback?" Did you do enough research before you buy? Is this a joke? Look who he bought it from. Look what he paid. Look what he got for the money. That is about one pitiful excuse for a rep. I thought that seller was known for first class product. I'd give him a chance to mak it right, but if not, I'd charge that crap back too Bill
crystalcranium
Isn't this the dealer that many are confusing with MBW George. Some have reviewed positively his products based on photos but the proof is in the delivered product. Sorry about your problems. I, for one, would not spend that amount of money (not any more but let's not talk about my preRWG days) unless the dealer had a proven track record of longevity and reputable products. That watch is so bad, it should mark W9 as a scam site. It's one thing to deliver a watch for a premium price that has a manufacturing flaw or a problem with a movement. These are understandable "it slipped through the cracks" issues that all dealers have to contend with. But this thing is such crap, it has so many flaws, I can't help but think the site is in the business of taking as many as it can for $600 a pop before it goes away. davidk
Did I hear the forbidden word "chargeback?" Did you do enough research before you buy? Yes I sure did. What got me wanting this was member Kevin300z stated that this WM9 was just like Luckyyy's Blue TT Sub. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=7488&st=20 (see second thread from last) I then emailed dealer before i purchased asking very specific questions. He stated things like it was put together by some expert when I orderd and went through this whole QC process. He stated that it was also a solid 18k band, which for me justified the price if everything else was decent. There were mixed feelings about whether this was legit or not, and due to the protection of a CC, I decided to do something for the community and find out once and for all. cwai02
ar...you bought from watchmaker9.tv That is a scam site. I doubt it's 18K gold. They sell all the crappo eta at the same $600 price. Good luck. btw, kevin300z only has 21 posts.
kingkitesurf
Sorry, The bracelet looks OK and has the right color gold IMHO. Further the bezel looks awful colored. The dial is a pitty. For that amount it is a pitty. Well maybe you feel better if I say that I bought to genuine watches from Citizen and Zodiac on the Bay for about a total of your amount and one arrived was way to small (dead ugly) and the Vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf has never arrived. I guess buying watches over the net in general is risky... accept for the dealers here... Good to know...

Just disappointed. I guess I might try Eddie Lees and see if I can get an OEM bracelet for it. My quest for a decent TT Sub continues.
KB
Look I'm having trouble with all this, you come to the best safe haven on the net equipped with the best dealers yet you use the wisdom of your 30 posts to follow the recommendation of another member who has 21 posts and then go and buy off site. Not only buy but you spend $600!!!, I mean if I pay $600 for a sub I want the dealer to bring it to my door in a locked suitcase...........................and now you are wondering what went wrong. If you had spent just a little time to learn what the senior posters recommend you wouldn't be in this position and I'm sorry but you have shown all the characteristics of a fly by nighter and probably got what you deserved. seank1
I think we should make it clear that this is not the same George that gets the MBW quality pieces. He would not advertise A++++ Swiss grade blah, blah blah. I've seen several vintage pieces by George and they are stunning this is not his style and not his site. Ken [censored] Off Kenberg! Just because I don't post a lot doesn't mean a thing. I have purchased from Joshua, Letiztozeiss, Overboosted and a few others over the course of almost a YEAR. My lust for a decent TT Sub rep, confusion of who George was, being told by another member that it was like Luckyyy's sub, and the dealer telling me it had a solid 18K band is what got me here. I have spent MONTHS researching where to get a decent TT Sub rep. I have exchanged emails with Eddie Lee, Joshua, and Precious Time in regards to what they offer. There was a huge thread where there was a lot of argument about whether this guy was legit or not. Even so called "senior members" were not in agreement. I think I have done a favor for the community by confirming that it is crap. I am so sorry that YOU have a problem with it.
kegra
Just something to know (you should) there is no rep 18k bracelets ,, 14k the most and if they were 600$ would be for the bracelet alone.

Thats what I was finding out. There was a guy on ebay selling OEM 18K for 459 based out of the United States. I assume he had to be making a profit on that, therefore the 600$ price tag seemed right to me seeing as how it was coming out of Taiwan.

But you didnt order just the band but a ROLEX TT witch retails over 4.200$ as the web site states.. Sorry for that but as you say in your post you made a mistake the site you got the watch from is a scam site and has no association with our trusted dealers (even wo-mart ) John
KB
Piss Off Kenberg! Yep that got your little warning meter raised. I'm am very aware of the thread of which you speak, I am also very aware that no one could guarantee that the site did in fact belong to George, in fact I am quite sure there were many who were willing to swear that it was not in fact his site. Regardless none of that changes my opinion that you took a chance on an off site seller and lost. Ken

I haven't read the thread, but if I saw a lot of conflicts to whether this wm9 dealer is legit or not, I surely wouldn't spend $600 with him You're obviously not very good at research, or maybe just a masochist It's too bad you got such a crappy watch, but what the hey, you decided to go outside the walls of this place to buy.
